this game has great possibilities to be an awsome MMORPG

The whole point of the game is to be an epic single player experience where you're the big hero, which gets thrown out the window as soon as thousands of people begin playing.

Also, the big strengths of DAO are the Characters, the Lore and the nice and twisty morally grey plot/s ... I have yet to see any other MMO prove that they can handle these things in any way, shape or form. (And yes, I have played rather a lot). The closest I've seen to a story driven MMO so far was LOTRO, and even that really didn't have the same shine to it as this. (Yes, SWTOR may make a better job of it, but I don't want to gamble this setting on an unknown).
TL:DR version:
Oh please no, nonononononononono way *puts fingers in ears*
MMO's are the death of singleplayer content.
MMO's require very different approaches to many of the things that make DAO good
(including story, characters and dialog, quest structure, and combat. Prepare for the current lovely system to be replaced by a rather generic actionrpg realtime system).
All MMO's will eventually become World of Warcraft because /that/ is what sells.
Please, don't turn Bioware into just another mmo focused shop, it would be a sad loss.

The community WILL do it, if the tools are available and the multiplayer implementation is minimum as solid for DA:O as it is for NWN1 (after we created persistence with NWNx of course). The toolset for Dragon Age is pretty damned nice... but the area constraints for size make it hard to really stretch out into a multiplayer world setting.
Would that we could have NWN1 size/speed with DA:O graphics...

I hate MMORPG players.... Not everything needs to be online. RPG's are about story as much as gameplay so no thank you. The most I can see is a co-op mode for like two people over that it would be horrid.
As a former MMO player I can't agree more with this statement...I don't even won't coop though. I hate this generation of gamers who thinks EVERYTHING must be multiplayer.

Consider this: Would you rather be part of the army, or of the Wardens? Because, being true to the story, they can't just open up the Grey Wardens to everyone.

MMORPG however ... I don't see this with DA:O --- however, I definitively see it as a seperate release in a few years - Bio owns all rights for thedas the engine etc. and thus could - if they wanted - make this.

Id much rather that they concentrate on creating excellent single player RPG's like they always have.

MMO no COOP campaigns yes.
Something like this would be nice - probably included in a future DLC or Expansion.
