After getting a new 360, I still have to unlock hardcore and insanity and get my adept to 60.
So, on my first playthrough (on this system) im basically doing a renegade speed run.

I rescued Liara and did Noveria then viamare.
In the cutscene discussion, I just kept on pressing A with my joystick always pointed to the renegade option.....
However, I never ended up seeing the cutscene where Liara helps clarify my vision to see where Saren is going next.

.... soooo...... now what?
Ive already seen two beacons, and I should be able to go the the last level before the cidital gets attacked..... but I dont know what to do next.
Talking to Liara again doesnt help.

Dammit! I just want to unlock hardcore.
Please help me out.
How do I get to the world after Virmare (cant remember its name.)

Did you do Feros? You have to do Feros.

Make sure you do every main quest planet first. Liara won't tell you of Ilos until you do so, even if you've completed Virmire. Like Jaguar said, you probably still have Feros. Finish it up and you'll get what you want. Good luck.

Nope, you have to do all three.  It's best if you do Therum, Feros and Noveria before Virmire.  The story progresses smoother.

why are you trying to speed run? that doesnt make the game fun... unless you already know it

but it doesnt seem that way if you didnt unlock hardcore.

so, have you beat the game yet? (i just think its bad if you dont care about ME1 if your only playing a speed run if you havent played the game before)

Uh, you know you can complete the game without playing hardcore right? What an odd assumption.

Well I might as well poke my head in here and state that I have entered ME 1 newbiedom. :) Started on easy mode, because all this sci-fi stuff has me confused. :D But!! I love sci-fi (read alot of books, played other sci-fi games) So you have to "unlock" play modes after easy? If so thats different from what I am used to with DA.

Well I think you unlock Insanity for certain and you might have to unlock Hardcore.

Also depending on how many kills or how often you use a power you unlock an option to choose one of those for a different class when you start a new character.

The powers require 75 uses, and the guns require 150 kills, to unlock them as bonus powers for a new character. Onyx Jaguar is right, beat the game on any difficulty to unlock hardcore, then beat hardcore to unlock insanity.

The powers will obviously require that a class have them to unlock the achievement. The guns however just require kills, so you could unlock say, shotgun with any class whether or not they have the related skill.

Oh and other squad members using the powers or guns don't count only Shepard.

It is, however, very counterproductive to use a weapon your character isn't trained for, because you get horrible accuracy penalty and no damage bonuses. So even with endgame gear, which has more or less tolerable base accuracy, an untrained assault rifle will suck compared to a trained pistol, and the shotgun will still miss half the time and not do that much damage. And of course untrained sniper rifles are completely useless because you can't zoom in.
