Um im having issues. I have successfully installed Dragon Age Origins, but I cant not play it. Instead I am told this:

Dragon Age: Origins will not run properly because the driver for your display adapter is too old. You must update your driver to correct this problem. Please see your hardware vendor's website for further information on obtaining the required drivers.

I REALLY dont want to buy crap to get this to work, is there anything I can do? And I dont speak computer, just assume I know absolutely NOTHING about computers. So please, can someone help me along with this, this is the second time I've gotten a Bioware game for PC and it wont work because of this display driver thing

You don't have to "buy" drivers, it's just asking you to update them. Although I'm thinking this will be a bit too technical for you, do you even know what type of video card you have? Click the configure button in your Dragon Age launcher and then display then post what your display adapter is.

The Quadro is what is called a "production work station" device, not designed for games.  Many Quadros (if you paid a mint for them) can do both, but because of their use, they are excessively expensive compared to Geforces, which usually results in buying a "cheap" Quaddro that isn't as good (for gaming) as an ordinay mainline Geforce, while still costing more.

Windows XP Minimum Specifications
OS: Windows XP with SP3
CPU: Intel Core 2 Single (or equivalent) running at 1.6Ghz or greater
AMD 64 (or equivalent) running at 2.0Ghz or greater
RAM: 1 GB or more
DVD ROM (Physical copy)
20 GB HD space
Video: ATI Radeon X850 256MB or greater (either this is wrong)
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT 128MB or greater (or this one is wrong)

(Note: IMO, the practical choices for the two video cards above should be the Radeon X800 Pro, and the Geforce 6800 GS, at least, for small textures - it will take a Radeon X1650 XT (or X1800 GTO) for medium or better textures)

Anyway, there have been dozens, at least, of different Quadro models sold in the last few years, maybe hundreds of models.  It is your responsibility to know what you have, and what it can do, before you waste money on anything far more demading (probably) than what you have.

You already had all the answers that you needed, when you actually pay attention to everything in the message thread, and follow the appropriate linkages, assuming that whatever Quadro that is meets the minimum requirements, which it very well may not do.  Regretfully, game forums are not designed as a substitute for Computer Literacy 101, nor are any of the several reference articles I have authored on this site intended to replace that type of educational resource.

One of the articles deals with what a driver can do or cannot do.  Drivers are free software that sit between the graphics card and the operating system.  They aren't magical.  They cannot change a very low end video device into anything else, so if your Quaddro happened to be an NVS, it would not be fast enough.  If it really is a Quadro2 Pro, then naturally there would be nothing you can do at all, driver or no driver.

Well, as Gorath says I doubt that the Quadro is up to the task since it's meant for workstations and works better with graphics packages and the like. I've looked on the Nvidia site but given the fact that I'm not familiar with the Quadro series, I can only find the Quadro 2 Go which appears to be a laptop series adapter.

Got to nvidia.com and see if you have better luck.

Addendum: This is shaping up to be a very old legacy card. The most recent XP drivers (which are the only drivers available for your card) are dated from 5 years ago - this means your card is unlikely to be able to run Dragon Age and Jade Empire.

These are the legacy drivers for your card. I'm going to assume you're running Windows XP because there's not a hope you'll find drivers for any newer operating systems because they don't exist.

The only Quadro 2 I found at GPU Review was produced ten years ago, for Windows98 and Win2K, running Dx7 according to this:

www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php

It wouldn't have any kind of shader functions at all.  The Geforce 6n00 cards were the first nVIDIA cards with DX9's SM3 shaders, about five years ago, although they had very few shader units to work with at the time.  Radeons had a lot of shader units.  However, ATI was several months behind due to the contract with Microsoft for the Xbox360 video system, and didn't have all of SM3 until their X1n00 generation, 4 1/2 years ago.

Now, let's see what that means, shall we?  I cannot imagine that a ten year old device, with drivers probably also quite old, would be able to function during the install process.

If this is not a Troll attempt, it is my opinion that the card's identification must be totally wrong.  There is no video device without at least the first notch of SM3 that should pass the filtering included to eliminate such elderly and obsolete junk.  Low end X00 cards, such as the X550 and X600, will fail, low end Geforce 6n00s, such as the 6200, should fail, which effectively SHOULD have eliminated anything so old before any question of drivers came up in the game configuration tool.  .

Unless he stuck in this ancient piece of junk into a modern system, I'd also hazard a guess that the processor, RAM, PSU, as well as other odds and ends are unlikely to be up to snuff either. Therefore any GPU recommendations would be null and void since at most he likely has an AGP 2.0 or at worst AGP 1.0.

AGP cards are few and far between now - there was a brief spell where they were manufacturing the 7800GS and the ATI X1950X in the AGP standard, but that was four or five years ago and even so, the PSU probably wouldn't be able to handle it. In short it's time for a whole new system, or at the very least a new PSU and if you're lucky, either of the above AGP models and even after all that it's debatable if the game will run and even if it does, it will be so horrendous you might as well just get it on the 360.

Edit: Will also add that something seems fishy about this because the Quadro 2 Pro uses the same chip as the GeForce 2... I'm at a loss as to how this system is even still running. The machine belongs in a museum and will never run this game. Ever.

I think I sent him running when I said he already had adequate information to work with for finding and updating whatever drivers are involved, two hours ago.

A fast Google revealed a Quadro 280, from 2003, using the same silicon as the GF3 Titaniums, which would also be too old.

There have also been a number of Quadro NVS cards, such as a 290 and a 295, which appear to be about the same as a Geforce 7100, which would have had the SM3 pixel shaders, but would be bog slow in this game, worse than a 7300.  But look at what Amazon claims was the MSRP for the silly thing when it was new: $180.

Brand new, the 7300 was maybe $45 - $50, and better (for games).

The oldest anything I've still got inside of a system with all its components still included is a pair of 3dFX VooDoo cards that I bought, used, long after they had been new.  My youngest kid's bedroom became a cross between a "shop" and a storage area and I can connect any one of several vintage PCs in there when I have an urge to play really old games (the one with VooDoos being the oldest), such as the Wing Commander games from Origin.
