So, I downloaded the new patch today.  When I went to start the game from the launcher, I get the click sound and you can see the button for "play" depress, but nothing happens.  Music keeps playing and launcher stays.  I can keep pressing the button, but nothing changes.  I didn't have this problem before I installed the patch.  Help.

The patch has a problem. They used a new version of C++ apparently and many have the older version installed onto their PC. You have three choices. 1)Do nothing and wait til Bioware comes out with patch to fix the patch. 2)Uninstall the game and then reinstall but don't DL patch. Be sure to save any saved games you may have had if you have already been playing the game prior to patch v1.01. 3) Go here and DL the C++ version from MS that people are talking about in this thread.

Thanks, Skott. The DL of the C++ seems the obvious choice here. Is there a downside to DLing this at all?

I think you are okay if the only problem you have is the start .exe problem. Read that whole thread though because we are talking about a problem with three different Window O/Ses.

Woot. Worked great. Thanks for the info. Wish I had searched a little more now for the thread that all of that was in. Sorry.

I messaged Chris Priestly about it very early this morning, but I'm sure they're busy over there and he might not have had a chance to look at it
