I finally decided to buy Darkspawn Chronicles.

Bought my points, used said points to buy the download, started up DAO, logged in, downloaded it... went to play and I got the "Unable to load module" message. So I look back and it says "Unauthorized content"... How could it be unauthorized when I just downloaded it from the account I purchased it on?

And what does "Unable to load module" mean...? I only get it when I try and start up Darkspawn Chronicles - I can make a new game in both origins and awakening with no problem.

Oh, and the best part is the notice I get when I try and "buy" the content again from the download list: http://bit.ly/aRUM8w ... I've restarted the game a couple times now and nothing seems to work.

Am I going to have to contact official support or is there an easy fix to this?

I restarted my computer, then logged into my account and downloaded the *.dazip for Darkspawn Chronicles and installed it using the DAUpdater. It said it was successfully installed, but I still cannot access it and I still get the same warnings and error messages.

*edit*
I uninstalled the content, then reinstalled it to no avail... I'm out of ideas here.

EA *seems* to be having trouble with the in-game DLC manager-thingy whatever. But oddly enough, I have the exact same issue with the same content I bought and manualy downloaded from Bioware (the utmost tab right above, Games -> DA:O -> Official DLC). Peculiar to say the least.

After a long chat with a bloke on the support staff, I got my points back, at least.

Now it's just waiting if I can ever use ehm :(

I ended up just giving up trying to find an easy solution and just took out all the addins and got rid of my orders folder as well as the addin, order and manifest.xml files... I had to re-download everything using the in-game downloader and reinstall Awakening, as well as redo all of my addins, but everything is working perfectly now!

*edit*
Upon reinstalling other mods, the game could not find the darkspawn chronicles module... so... yeah. Back to square one.

Eureka!
I tried what this link http://help.dragonag...=&p_faqid=23584   instructs yesterday. It went a bit awry, partly because I do believe the way it is explained, it's for WinXP, while I run Win 7, which does things slightly different. (for all of you wondering how I figured this out, here's a hint: •From the Windows desktop, click the Start button, then select Run --- I'm still not that familiar in win7, but this bit is clearly not there.)
But I tried this yesterday anyway: did the commands in a command promt I thought was equal to the run thingy in XP, deleted the things mentioned, and the final command line in what I thought was where I should. Nothing. messed up all.
So I was bummed. Lost all my DLC and stuff Image IPB I was going through something similar to hell.
But then, as I awoke this morning, right at the moment I thought about rolling over and having a half an hour more sleep, right on the moment between sleeping and waking -- the moment for ideas -- I had an epifany, a revelation...
I know, I know, for all you hard-core gamers out there, this is elemetary, but I'm not one of you: I know how to run my PC and keep things running, so the revelation might not be as huge as you might think, but it was "The things I deleted, they should be in the trash can, right? Why don't I try to put them back?"
It worked, but because of all the things I had done, every DLC was now Not Authorized.
So I retraced what I did yesterday, tried to see where I could have gone wrong, and then it hit me: why don't I figure out where I should have entered "net stop DAUpdaterSvc" and "net start DAUpdaterSvc".
In Win 7 you don't have the Run thing in Start menu. What it does have, in the Accesories folder is the Command prompt. The mistake I made yesterday was 1st. Not running it under Adminstrator rights, and 2nd. Not navigating to the bin_ship folder under the Dragon Age folder. (While I don't know for sure if the 2nd step is necesary, it seemed to be: the "net stop DAUpdaterSvc" didn't seem to provoke any response in the default folder the command prompt starts -- in my case: .../Win32)
If you're still with me, just a bit more ranting from my part and it will all become clear ;)
I did "net stop DAUpdaterSvc" after I old-school DOS navigated my way to the bin_ship folder and to my surprise, I got the reply it wasn't even running... Odd, but it wasn't.
While I'm no computer expert, I am, however a big gambler -- my intuition has a tendancy to be right more often than it's not, so Instead of deleting all the **** once again, I skipped straight to the "net start DAUpdaterSvc" with the promt in the bin_ship folder...
.. and it worked! I was authorized once more!
But that's not all: the thing that was stuck at 0%in the DLC manager yesterday -- Return to Ostagar, the thing that was no longer in the Downloading section, the thing I had thought lost for good, to be repurchased if the Gods were willing to let the DL in DLC get through one day, was... Downloading!!!

So for all of you who skipped my rantings and thus missed the good parts: try "net start DAUpdaterSvc" before doing anything else: It worked miracles for me... And that's saying something coming from an atheist Image IPB

Quick up-date, 5 hours later: Some way or another, all my DLC is authorized, now, when the game's not logged-in, but whenever I do logg in, the premium content goes to Not Authorized again...

Pff!!! For the moment, I couldn't care less, really: I *forgot* to logg in most of the times I've played up until my issues with the DLC started, and appart from the Awakening thing I might wanna add some day, I got about all I wanna try, so we'll see how things are with the game and the DLC stability / reliability at that point in the future.

Right now, I'm just planning on playing the game and trying not to mess things up for the next few months!

/salute to my fellow wardens ;)

I am having the exact same problem. I pre-ordered and got the Blood Dragon Armor, Stone Prisoner, The castle one and something else...but when i log-in it says unauthorized but when logged out everything works fine. Which is fine by me...I just don't want to loose that also. Anyone know of a fix or who to contact to address this situation?

Thanks

Sorry you're having issues!  DLC authorization is the most common issue addressed on this forum.  The sticky posts at the top of the forum are a good start... you can also browse the solutions roundup I updated last night... it's linked in my signature line below.

Uh, you do have the Run command in Windows 7. Control Panel\\Appearance and personalization\\ Taskbar and start menu\\ customize start menu\\ press customize button\\ check the Run command box, then ok, then apply, then the Run... will be a link in start menu.
Hope this helps.
