The fact that Tali is available to romance a human male is fan servicy enough...why not take it a step further?

You expected them to actually address questions regarding the sexuality of a character?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

But in all seriousness, it's pretty clear that Tali and FemShep have some romantic tension, even if the actual romance subplot was cut.

Kidding aside, I think the issue is that alot of male players play as a female shepard, but still go for female LI's. Alot of players like Tali, and then you just get a crossover of the players who play female shep but want a female LI.

Well thats my opinion.

I would completely agree to that. I'm male and play as both male and fem Shepard.  When playing as fem Shepard I don't want to see my Shepard kissing a man...Posted Image

It may be pretty clear to you, not everyone else though.  It's all subjective to interpretation by the individual.  Each individual chooses what he/she wants to see, whether it actually exists or not.

Self entitlement

Right, is it also 'Self entitlement' when people clamor for every female squad mate to be a male romance option?  Was it 'self entitlement' when people clamored for Tali to be a romance option for MaleShep even though that clearly was never the intention with her character (as seen from ME1)?

Assuming your statement is accurate, then yes it is.

So, who's entitled to 'Self entitlement' then?

Depends on how arrogant and self serving one is.  That is what it boils down to doesn't it?

I like X character, but Male/FemShep can't romance him/her.  Therefore make it so.

It seems to me it's all of this nature.  People who want Kasumi to be a MaleShep LI, people who wanted Tali to be a MaleShep LI, people who wanted Garrus to be a FemShep LI.

I don't and didn't see many jumping in their threads calling them self-serving, arrogant, or 'self-entitled'.

I am little put off by all of the "official character support 1.1" threads.  I like discussing the characters in some of the character threads, I don't get into the "support" aspect of it.

If indeed it is a fact that Garrus/Tali are LI's in ME2 because of fanservice, then Bioware opened the floodgates to this.

Hey you want to do it, then fine.  I am not going lose sleep either way jlb.  Afterall it's just a game right?  Tali isn't the only character that people want to be portrayed as bi in the game.  Bioware may as well make all squadmemebers LI's and bisexual in ME3, right?

In all seriousness it was pretty clear the sexes both had the same dialouge with Tali, until the romance dialouge exclusive to males. pretty clear the linking suits isnt in with the romance dialouge, pretty clear there is no romantic tension between Tali and fem shep. Pretty clear the cut sub plot never existed.

@guy above no making everyone bi makes them less unique and turns rpg into dating sim, I agree they wlkied into it making garrus and tali a LI but just because they are options deosent mean bioware should make everyone bi, thats just opening them further. IMO they should just stop and soon.

I think that is why you see so many character and romance support threads.

That honestly wouldn't bother me.  It's just a game, not real life.  More options for story and character customization are always best, especially in a roleplaying game.  If this were another type of game, in which there was one story and one protagonist, then it would be different.

Personally, I could care less what sexuality Tali is as I'm not interested in her in that way.  A lot of people seem to want her to be a FemShep option, moreso than the other female LIs, like Miranda, Jack, or Ashley.  If they make her an option for FemShep in ME3, that will make a bunch of people happy and more power to them, I say.

But, creating more and more hetero options does not make it a dating sim?  ME2 had more romance options than any BW game in the past...too many, if you ask me.

Yes, and there was plenty of 'rule 34' content to address the desire of seeing Tali with a MaleShep pre-ME2.  Your point?

More options and customizations for the player are a good thing.  They just need to be careful with how it's done, if it is done.  It is a game afterall.  I am just disenfranchised with some prevailing attitudes on the boards here, but hey, it's not a big deal.

I was very surprised (coming to the game not even knowing that Tali was an LI) that she was only available as an LI for MaleShep. I read the suit linking as an incredibly emotionally and persoanlly intimate thing, and it seemed like that was her way of telling Shepard she wanted to have the closest relationship she possibly could with her. Then you run out of dialogue unless your Shep is a dude. It seemed... off. Espceially since I'd detected flirting in ME1 and assumed Tali was in love with Shepard regardless of gender. But this is how I interperated it. So your 'it's pretty clear that' statement relies on subjectivity. As a lot of stuff in Mass Effect does.

I don't understand why people get so offended talking about this specifically pertaining to Tali, though. I know some people get... irked when you bring up bisexuality in ME in general, but the Tali thing seems more widespread. And I think it gets mentioned more because a good few gamers (myself included) did percieve that relationship as a crush from Tali regardless of gender, and the ME2 progression of that quite a romantic one until it hit the wall.

But hey: ME2 is out and done. So what's the big dela over a little discussion?
