The Power of the Adept

ammo isnt limited in ME2 either. theres never an instance where your not more then a hope skip and a jump away from a tiny little flashing red cylinder. the point i was bringing up is more in relation to why i liked overheating weapons, rather then having an ammo count. you call that strategy. i call it making a sequel whose concept isnt anywhere near the original. they didnt even try to make it consistent. they simply tried to make it similar to every other game youve ever played.
these are more of my hopes for ME3. i wouldnt expect bioware to keep the infiltrators slo-mo if they added "infinite" ammo. you guys tie together downfalls to one particular thing, when its obvious a change would have to happen in order to balance whatever is so called unbalanced.
i dont mind the challenge bioware added to insanity. ill play it, and ill have fun doing so. i just dont appreciate it. maybe thats my fault, for beleiveing so much in ME1, and not getting that same feeling, or anything similar to it, out of ME2.
if shepard was intended to use weapons and abilities(which im assuming he means debuffs only) then why is an adept labeled "the class best at taking out enemies without the use of weapons?"
im angry because ME2 is not mass effect at all. its gears of space.

But
seriously the one little thing that I'd want for an Adept is the 30%
cooldown reduction a Sentinel can get with their evolved passive, an
Adept should be able to match a Sentinel cooldown-wise if both can
utilize biotics...should they not?
Adepts are arguably more power-centric than Sentinels, so yes, I agree.
Sentinels in general are pretty absurd at times, to be honest. Playing one on Insanity and I'm already starting to get bored.

Ammo in ME2 is limited in a sense you can't keep firing the same gun without coming out of cover to pick up clips. I said limited because it's something I see often on these foruns, people complaining about running out of ammo. Not saying that you did it, I personally never felt tight on ammo.
As for other games I have played, I don't like FPS and I never played gears of war either. I only know how it looks like because I search it on youtube after everyone comparing the 2 of them. TBH, Mass Effect is the only shooter I have played from the beginning to the end. I'm usually more to games like DA, SC, WoW. That means they pretty much failed at doing it similar to other games I played. Don't assume that because I like limited ammo I play a lot of shooters. That's also the reason because soldiers is the one class I have no intention of trying, it's pretty much a regular shooter with a matrix ability...
Being the best at taking down enemies without using guns doesn't mean the class is supposed to do it. It means the option is there, and it's easier than with other classes. People have done it, so it's possible.
I don't think this is going nowhere so I will end by saying that I dislike everything you want changed on ME3 for the adept. It would make the game worse, reduce replay value because the gameplay would become boring faster and probably reduce the sales. There are things that could be made better, but not the way you want them. IMO
Also, Niftu Cal rules, I want to replace Jacob with him xD

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey...
I like Jacob. ;_;
Actually, he was one of my most-used squad mates as an Adept. Jacob, Samara, Thane, Garrus, and Zaeed were my top five.

Actually, was because biotics were OP.
Since I could make Saren float the entire time, he didn't hit me, so i
could have 0 shields and 1 hp, I would still have won.

yes it was biotics that allowed you to make saren float, but you could only make saren float with master abilities, with savant tools, and 12 points in bastion. meaning you were a fairly invested character.
i dont like FPS games either. i do like halo and bioshock, only becasue i enjoy sci-fi, or using cool abilities. you brought up something about being a GM killing something with one shot in an MMO, dont assume ive played any MMO game either. although i might get into WoW, just because ive been yelling "CATACLYSM" alot lately, and i dont even know why.
the option to take out enemies without the use of weapons only relies on one ability, that being singularity.
id also like to close by saying i wouldnt want your version of ME3 as well. i hardly want ME2s version, and yours is worse.
were all entitled to our opinions. just becasue you all enjoyed ME2 more then ME1 doesnt mean everyone else did. some people even feel let down by what ME has become because of ME2.

Oh, is that a fact? So explain to me how my level thirty-five Adept with a Polaris bio-amp and six points in the class talent floated Saren to death on Insanity?
Please check your data before you spout off as if you know everything. Otherwise you're just wasting everybody else's time.

I didn't like Jacob much. Something about him makes me don't want to take him to missions. That, said, if you like Jacob that much, I wouldn't mind replacing Jack with Niftu Cal instead of Jacob

If you want to replace somebody with Niftu Cal, make it...wait, I like everybody. Thane, I guess? He's definitely the lowest common denominator.

BTW, I have given pull field a try on a few missions and so far its going pretty well, the increased duration also allows me to go closer to them (or them closer to me) and let me punch them. It's more fun than it sounds

Pull Field is one of my favorite things about the Adept class. I'm not very good at high-level Adept play(I often forget that Singularity exists), but Pull Field is the biggest reason why I've never had an issue with Husks.
I generally take Jack and Samara with me on missions and max their Pull to field and with their passives maxed for bonus cooldown, watching 2/3 pull fields in action is hilarious.

As an Adept, I don't think I'd need much more than Pull-bots for my squad mates. I'll be sure to bring Jack along more often on my Insanity run.

its not possible to perma-float saren without having a fast enough cooldown on lift. meaning you essentially need master lift, medic exos, a decent amp........ unless you were using kaiden and liaras lift as well.
im wasteing your preciouse time??? gimme a break.

I've never played Mass Effect 2 on the Xbox. I imagine it'd be one hell of a headache, though. I mean, I could see it being okay if you're a Soldier, maybe, but an Adept? Frakkin' forget it.

It is fine playing at adept on the 360. I have throw, warp and singulairty hot keyed. The other powers I prefer to puase and use so that I can make sure I'm targeting the correct enemy when I use them. So no problems playing on the 360.

You know if they had made shockwave effective vs shields much of this would be solved.
1. Shockwave would not suck. And given it multiple pulses it kind of fits for being effective vs shields. Currently on a adept it is the ignored power, on the vanguard it is the power you put 2 levels into so you can get a real power.
2. The adept could be what the adept preview implied and be a pure power user even on insanity.(Yes you can on insanity now, but it is a pain)

This has been mentioned a bunch of times, but the problem on xbox is using squad powers. You can assign one power from each squad member to a "leg" of the d-pad. However, pressing said d-pad is also a positioning command so you have to be motionless to use that. This is what makes combos a problem without the powerwheel on xbox.
