Same here, the colour matches perfectly with the Adept though Disrupter Ammo looks nice too. How do you use two bonus powers anyway? Never knew it was possible. I'm more than willing to trade Shockwave for Barrier, Warp Ammo or Energy drain.

It involves Gibbed's save editor. Quite simple, really - just open up the Power collection in a savegame with your character, use the option to add a new power, and fill in the text spaces on the power details:

class Name: SFXGameContent_Powers.SFXPower_Barrier_player
Current Rank: 1 (this can be anything, but I leave it at 1 to start)
Name: Barrier
Wheel Display Index: 0 (no idea what this does, but it never caused problems leaving it at 0).

Shepard has 8 slots on his gui for powers, so he can handle the full Adept skill set plus Warp Ammo and Barrier, no problem :D

Wow, thats great! Going to try this soon. I only used Gibbed's to change Shep's looks and to skip the annoying planet scanning. Is it possible to get non-bonus powers too? Ahh, never mind, can't really think of one though it would be nice to get rid of Shockwave and get Energy Drain instead.

New video added: Asari Commando Shepard

An Adept + Barrier = :o Still looking to balance the use of Barrier with the Adept's other abilities, but Barrier has the potential to change the way Adepts can play significally.

I'm afraid, due to the peculiarities of the way that class powers are handled, it isn't possible to mess around with non-bonus powers in the editor. I won't bore you with the details, but it's to do with the bonus skills being accessible as standalone powers and the class skills being integral to the class structure.

That said, I've never felt particularly disadvantaged with Warp Ammo and Barrier. The Adept lacks serious self-augmentative powers, but these two make up for that :D

The only thing I'll say about this is that I do a lot more storming to cover, but that is by and large how I play

just wondering, if you had to play an adept without singularity, how would you change up your playstyle to accommodate that?

an aggressive barrier + shotgun adept like the last video?

or picking up reave for defense stripping?

or something entirely different.

Uh... I'm not sure I'd bother playing an Adept without Singularity. As much as love the Throw/Pull/Warp combos, having the ability to just plaster anything in place is one of the bonuses to playing an Adept.

I dont really think I really see the point in playing _any_ class and deliberately skipping their unique class ability.

I don't mind sticking with the bonus powers. Don't really know what class power I would add to the arsenal. Cryo Ammo would be great though.

You know what's really frustrating? That I played with the Adept class for almost 2 months without knowing about Barrier, but I quess it helped improving how best to use biotics in the end. It ain't all bad - I'm more addicted to the Adept than ever before [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

Dunno, Singularity is among the best powers around and its by a long shot the most versatile power in ME2. But its possible - check out Cruc1al's Solo Adept on Collector Vessel (Level 15, AR training, no bonus). He doesn't use Singularity (only against the husk at the end).

Adepts don't need Reave - to much in common with Warp. Plus I use squad powers and firepower for defense stripping. That's all you'll need. For an Adept an unprotected enemies = a death enemy B)

Your barrier Adept looked good, I've been apprehensive about taking barrier. Sometimes it looked like the barrier was cut like butter but you also destroyed that Asari commando with it. I think I'm gonna dust off my Adept and try an aggressive Bastion Barrier with all talents on heavy.

Also I'm posting here so the thread gets bumped up. It's not fair that that those fanboy threads swallow up legit threads like this.

Thanks Freakaz0idx,

I did some crazy stuff last night with my Adept - will record some today. Just wait what's in store next - will the Adept out perform the Vanguard? Hell yes :innocent:  stay tuned.

Hey... lets see some aggressive adept (with barrier) play on Horizon or the Collector ship. I vote for that next.

Already working on the Collector Ship :) You can have a taste of the action here

That was my first experience using the Claymore on an Adept. I'm at the Collector Base at the moment, but as soon as I finished the game I will reload to record a couple of cool fights. I might start a NG+ run with my Claymore Adept and see what happens on Horizon :D

Uploaded the entire Collector Mission with Claymore - except Praetorian (boring) and the Husks at the end (too easy)

Asari Commando Shepard aboard the Collector Ship

I'm sorry for our German friends, seems like YouTube blocked the music. But you can get a piece of the action here
Fortunately the German authorities believe listening to Metallica is a good thing :)

I love fighting this way though I sometimes got a little annoyed with Thane and even outraged with Jacob - the damn fool kept delaying his Pull when I ordered him to use it. Got me killed a couple of times:? but he got what he deserved in the end :P

You should do a run where you give Grunt the revenant. That makes him the most unstoppable character in the game.

Perhaps ... but I won't. Grunt is supposed to be the ultimate Krogan, and Krogan carry shotguns, big shotguns like the Claymore. I'm too much in love with shotties so I'm unwilling to let Grunt use an AR, ever. I only wished he would do his 'I am Krogan!!!' thing a bit more often :D

I've been to Paris for a couple of days so I couldn't play ME2. But don't worry NICKjnp, I really love the new AR - best (bonus) weapon for Adepts without modding the game (still prefer Claymore :D). I'll record some stuff whenever I'm playing a mission worth recording. I'm loving the Mattock, but haven't decided which mission to do, I'm thinking Kasumi's or the Overlord missions - or maybe record some interesting fights from different missions with different weapons - haven't done a SR Adept vid. I always like playing solo maybe I'll do another solo run.

Sugestions are welcome :)

Last part of the Overlord DLC by yourself is always a good place to shoot a video. Plan to do that one tonight actually.

I used the Claymore. You have to mod the game to be able to get it though, guess it makes Adepts too powerful :P

I haven't started my Adept Insanity playthrough, but surely the new Geth Plasma Shotgun would be a good choice? The Locust SMG reduces any need for assault rifles, anyway.

The GPS is great for the Adept. Good damage at both short and medium range. If you're not getting Barrier to get up close - use the Mattock; very powerful at all ranges / very accurate too (love the sound). Locust is a good 'backup' weapon for those rare 'out of ammo' - situations.

The Mattock makes getting the SR training obsolute - chose between SG or AR training. I prefer SG :)
