I've gotten messages for both of my videos, but youtube claims they aren't blocked anywhere. I guess it is likely exclusive to Sony, since neither of my videos have used songs from large labels.

Question for Boz: Is that initial conversation following the pure renegade (lower right hand) options? I've always used either the blue or red options for that conversation, but I may have to try a no blue/red play through to see what else I've missed.

EDIT: Also, why don't they still allow folks to watch the clip but block the audio? I'm pretty sure I've seen videos where youtube has done this. It's pretty crumby that they don't do it in these cases.

Don't forget the Adept vid that got posted in the Vanguard thread:

Practicality aside, I tried out a Shockwave/Dominate CQC Adept the other day.  Needless to say, I'm liking the build so far.

Here's a short clip:

(New game, level 7, shotgun loadout added, stats are on the description).

Lining the three of them up, starting at 5:20, for the next Shockwave was perfectly executed.

Thanks for the PM - I'll try it when I'm back home (forgot the YT login xD)

Don't select the Renegade option (or the merc will be allowed to run away) - select the neutral (or was it the the right-sided response?). The merc will respond to the call and Shep gets a Renegade interupt to shoot the fool.

Jackwill only say she thinks it's funny if you let the merc go - I think killing him is the most fun and I 'forced' Jack to agree [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/joyful.png[/smilie]

Thanks, and yeah that was a nice triple Shockwave kill. The only problem I have with Shockwave is control. I tried to get enemies in line to send a Shockwave through. Sometimes it works very well, but effects are random -
enemies are flying all around. Which is cool, but you'll lose track of their positions fast and due to some weird physics, you can have enemies 50 feet in the air (like freaking angels) shooting ya (got me killed a couple of times when I was sure the goon was gone).

Nice vid, Boz!

Shockwave does good work indeed. I don't know about Shepard's, but I definetely will be using Jack's a lot more.

True Jack's Shockwave works, if anything I want to try simultaneous Shockwaves with Shep's and Jack's at the same time. Perhaps all round biotic mayhem with Samara's Pull Field and Adept Singularity as well to really get stuff flying! B)

I was disappointed of Jack's shockwave when I learned that it doesn't instakill 4 YMIR mechs as suggested in her cutscene

I  remember on my very first play getting Jack and saying wow, this will be fun, and then on the next mission taking her along and going "What??!!??  That's it!!!!!!  You got to be SH@TTING ME!!!"

Thanks, Shockwave is pretty cool and I always wanted to try an Adept without Warp anyways. They're still pretty powerful without warp(bombs) me thinks :)

A fair warning regarding Shockwave; it's not useful when there are no ledges around. On missions like Mordin and Jack's RMs (indoors) all it does is rearranging enemy positions. This is not advantageous, it, in fact, will get you in potential problematic situation more often than not. It's, however, pretty good (and fun) outdoors and/or on Collector mission.

Without using Pull or Singularity first, Shockwaves are not very effective and powerful. But when used on already ragdolled enemies it has real punch. Singularity is obviously an excellent power to get enemies in the right mood. Pull is more difficult to use (you'll have to keep the target relatively close to the surface). I think squadmates Pull is best - effect is instant and can be timed right before Shep unleashes a wave.

I also recommend Improved Shockwave - the extra radius will make it hit ragdolled enemies more often. Heavy Shockwave failed reasonably often - not something you want of a power on a 6 s cooldown.

That's one of the craziest display of physics effects I've seen, Bozo!

I did notice that that shockwaving enemies under pull/singularity did a lot of damage. Looking at your vid and thisisme's vids, I actually think shockwave was more effective than pull/throw/warp when it's done at mid to long range because unlike those powers, shockwave travels straight through environments so you don't need to curve it, and it not only affects the targeted enemy, but everyone else in front and behind it. So if you see a line of enemies, shockwave will definately blow everyone way. And if they still have defenses, the staggering is the perfect time to get off a quick shot in the same way you'd time your attack with FB. The downside is that in confined places or when enemies are close, a high-level shockwave may be unpredictable, the casting motion is too long, and when you do cast it, it happens too fast and you don't know where they'll land. I think shockwave needs the time to travel so that you can react to it accordingly, but that's just me.

PS, I'm wondering if heavy pull could be a viable way to lift a whole group of goons, one at a time, and keep them up as long as long as you can

Haha, yeah it's pretty cool watching all those mooks flying around :)

Shockwave isn't the best power around, but I think it's fair to say it isn't completely useless on Insanity, pretty fun actually. Unfortunately, the physics engine isn't full-proof. I've had enemies ending up in the most unlikely places. Sometimes they just kept standing there, but sometimes they could shoot - it's pretty annoying getting killed by a mook you believed death, standing somewhere in midair some fifty feet high - space walking (and shooting).

BTW, did anyone encountered waves of Fenris during the first part of the Korlus mission. I did (once), no idea where they came from and a reload 'fixed' this. Pretty weird and Jack and Garrus weren't too happy about them too (they died).

Haven't tried that, but it could be fun. I wanted to give Shep Heavy Pull, but I didn't have enough points left. Probably best used after researching the duration upgrade. I'll give it shot.

Yeah, happened to me 2. I wasn't paying attention on the game, as it was not supposed to be any enemy there, when I came to see it I was dead and wondering wth happened <_<.

I have only encountered Fenris mechs on Korlus once. If you do not charm or intimidate that Blue Suns mercenary and DO NOT shoot him (renegade interrupt) then you will encounter the Fenris mechs. At least that's what happened on my one playthrough.

Great vid, it was surprisingly effective. Just goes to show you can pretty much play this game any way you like.

I can vouch for that. Heavy pull does work, but best with 3 pulls in the squad, so you pretty much always have one available. Jack + jacob initially, swap out for Samara later (maybe). Timing is a challenge though, and keeping track of where your pull-disabled enemies are.

Although 3 pull fields is more deadly. Used your flashbang tactic to aid in that. ;)

Ah, thanks for the info - never seen it happen before, but I can't remember not intimidating or shooting the merc - but I did went through that conversation a couple of times to get all the lines recorded.

It definitely spices things up with those fenris running around and Blue Suns shooting at you from the high ground.

Never happened to me. My sheps always intimidate/charm/kill that merc.
I'll definitely let that guy alone next time.....

Certainly it would be awesome if we could hack it and use it to wipe some blue suns :innocent:

You have to use biotics to get those Fenris on those platforms first, before hacking em - very difficult I think, but priceless.

The Adept really is a strange class. I had trouble with it at first and now I feel it's way too overpowered. Enemies die so quickly once they are down to Health only, it sometimes really is annoying. I'm pulling an enemy and before I can throw him out of the picture he's already dead. Shot by my squadmates most of the time. Then on the other hand the Adept can't take much hits. I feel like there's something wrong. Maybe being less of a killing machine but being able to take a few more hits is what I'm missing. Still... I have a lot of fun. I think I'll just have to play without squadmates more.

Generally you boost firepower using bonus powers with other classes. You can also do that with Adept, but she doesn't really need it. Options for defensive choices are topped by Barrier and Energy Drain, with myself generally favoring Energy Drain.

Heh, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Its a class with a near-vertical learning curve that, once mastered, plays very smoothly and with style - but it's not overpowered by any means. In fact I'd argue that its the class that's most balanced.

 Hi all,

I finished my series of adept class video guides and wanted to share. Some of you had already subscribed to them, so thanks for watching and for the comments (and occasional corrections/clarifications).

They are:
1- Intro to the adept
2 - Gameplay Basics (ME2 vs. ME1)
3 - Not Just a Space Mage
4 - Armor and Guns
5 - Basic Biotic Powers
6 - Adept's Favorite Bonus Powers
7 - Bastion or Nemesis?
8 - Enemies and Allies - Sagequeen's Adept Playbook (<--i.e., the way I play)

hope you enjoy!

I haven't found a good use for shockwave. Pull/throw are what I usually use on unprotected enemies.
Just did a run with Stasis as a bonus power. I found that I hardly used it. It got the most use against the drones on Freedom's Progress. It also came in handy on the Garrus recruitment which I did second. After that, I kind of forgot about it.

Shockwave is a bit of a niche power, there are decent places to use it mainly where there's ledges to throw them off. Garrus's RM during the bridge section is a good example as you said, places like Korlus and Dantius Towers are also good for that. Also hitting enemies with Shockwave is better if they've been hit with Pull or Singularity as they'll fly even more.

But generally Shockwave is a 'for the lolz' power B)

Seen your guide sagequeen, I generally play Adept a lot more aggresive using Stasis to shut tough enemies up (YMIR's and bosses). Liked some of the terminology you used, three skill smackdown I've actually used when I've panicked when a krogan or something has flanked me and I just spam any of the three powers that are available; even a meager stagger will let me get to safety in time......sometimes:whistle:

Yes, nice guide. I'm glad you explained quarterback, because I didn't know exactly what that was.
Good stuff for using "clothing" in combat! :D
I'm surprised no firepower pack, but vindicator is good anyway.

You've put a lot of thought into forming a sound strategy for yourself; although my preference is playing adept with shotgun (mostly GPS) at the vanguard, with pull (field) being my most used power, supplemented by 1pt stasis and the occasional throw/singularity, and the rare usage of warp.
