Adept fever is good. It seems like the Adept has lost its status as underrated now.
Now I think the Engineer's the underrated one - that class needs more love.

becasue the people who hated adepts have all moved on to games that dont suck.

like myself.

nice vid tho. i noticed playing shooters on the PC looks so easy. aiming isnt difficult at all. i feel like its kindof like cheating. not to mention i only have 3 hotkeys for the console too. i could never play games AND look up porn with the same device. seems too weird.

Funnily enough, most people have trouble using any more than the first 4 or 5 hotkeys on PC anyway... doesn't console have 3 Shepkeys and 2 Squadkeys? So that's about the same anyway.

I can use all 8 because I've mastered the necessary finger acrobatics to do so... it usually means I sacrifice use of either the mouse or movement for a split second, though.

Spamming has never liked the adept in me2, but I don't know why he threw in that backhanded compliment about playing on pc. The controls are better on PC than console ( I posted video showing the problems using squad powers on xbox ), and Termokanden, who plays both says they are much better on PC. However, that does not take anything away from the skill PC players exhibit. The thing is, us console players benefit from the strategy displayed in the PC videos, even if we are ( usually ) unable to fully duplicate them on console.

Some great Adept gameplay videos have been posted here lately. Thanks for that! I always love watching good biotic mayhem ;)

Unfortunately, I can't update the OP. But I will ask Simbacca if he would be so kind to add those vids to the second post of this thread. Or maybe I can find a moderator willing to change the OP for me (though chances are slim). I'll keep you guys posted.

What happened to you, man? You just disappeared one day.

just after watching that vid, i thought playing shotters on the PC looks really easy. i can see why PC gamers are so hardcore about playing on PC, its because its sooooo easy. you just point and click. even following moving enemies looked easy on your vid. i dont think PC gaming is comparable to console, they can play so differently in terms of eas of playing.

i brought up hotkeys because i was talking about it in another thread and sometimes im confused where i am posting.

It's dependent on the person, really. I've been playing on consoles for so long that I'm extremely comfortable with a controller in my hands for shooter-games. I dont play many PC games, so I'd probably have a REALLY hard time with the mouse + keyboard combo. The only thing that PC has an advantage over consoles (if you are well versed with the specific system you are using) is the ability to hotkey more than 3 Shep powers + 2 squadmate powers. That's why Adept and Engi vids on PC look alot smoother than console vids.

I missed your posts too, Spamming Troll, I never though I would but I did LOL ;)

As usual your remarks are full of nonsense though I do agree that the PC is the superior platform for gaming.

Stuff that looks easy, is usually the hardest to accomplish. I don't know if you're following football, but perhaps you've seen those guys from Barcelona play ball. It looks incredible easy, but it isn't. It's insanely hard to do what they are doing for the last couple of years. True excellence is when you can make something hard look like it's ridiculously easy.

I don't know if you've seen Tony Gunslinger, ScroguBlitzen and/or AreleX play - but they play on 360 too, and they also make things look like they are easy. It has more to do with the skills and experience of the player than the platform they're using.

P.S. I've to admit there are few console Adept videos around. Maybe something for you to change TST?

@ CajNatalie

How did you prioritize leveling your powers for your Warp Ammo Adept Build? From the videos I've seen you don't rely on Warp very much except for the occasional Warp Detonation.

I level powers up via obsessive compulsion (OCD without the 'D' <_< >_>), so there's no real plan for it per character... it goes like this...

Two starter powers, first top, then the middle one... then bonus power...
After that I pick either the 2nd or the 4th power to max out, and then put the final point in to the 3rd (if I picked 2nd) or 5th (if I picked 4th).
I have plans for a Hacking Infiltrator and Shockwave Adept, though... to make use of Flashbangs and Stasis respectively (14 bonus powers means I have two powers extra after making two of each class). They'll have Disruptor 1 and Warp 1, which will be interesting...

TL;DR I maxed them out in this order...
Warp
Singularity
Warp Ammo
Throw
Final Point in Pull

Pull is foolproof compared to Singularity. I'd put a point in Pull much earlier.

Also, if you consistently detonate, 1 point Warp can go a long way. And there's always Miranda's Unstable Warp for you to use, which has an excellent 9 second cooldown.

Yeah, my first level-up priority is to unlock (and invest a single point) in Pull and Throw. After I've 3 points in Warp, 1 in Throw, 3 in Singularity, and 1 in Pull, I invest every single skillpoint into the passive to max it (to reduce the cooldown). I get Heavy Singularity next (to get a decent duration so it will hold one powerful or a couple grunts for a few seconds). Everything else is the icing on the cake in my opinion.

For those who haven't met Pippi Shepard, check out these two Waltzingbear videos:

Pippi Shepard versus Bloodpack
Pippi Shepard versus The Shadow Broker

Note that Pippu has only one point in Warp, but those explosions are still lethal - you don't have to max Warp to make it useful. Warp, Shockwave, Pull and Throw are excellent one-point powers. They provide a lot of utility and add more options in combat, I highly recommend to get your hands on the both of them asap ...

... and I love how Pippi operates the elevator ;)

I forgot to say I max out the passive after I do the bonus power. Anyway, this is how obsessive compulsive types role... do things in a certain order just because... not because it's the best way, but simply because. =P
And I've seen Pippi's Bloodpack video at least (the elevator afterwards was glorious). XD

Horizon this time... this one starts out bad (the first encounter takes like twice the time it should have) and I top that off with pulling the exploding crate into Shep's face, like shown in the video I posted before. The videoquality is also pretty low.

On that^ note I wish Throw and Pull (and to a lesser extent, Shockwave and Singularity) had a special feature where if used against explosive containers it would instead toss them at the closest enemy. This would be on par somewhat with the intensified blast generated by using Overload on them, and would recapture the lost ME1 tactic of using biotics to throw objects at enemies (instead of being restricted to only throwing the enemies themselves).

EDIT: Moreover, I wish there were an option to target your Singularity with Warp directly to create an explosion, in the same way that you can target objects, rather than waiting for someone to be drawn into it.

You played that whole mission different than I do, and it was good to see you use the whole battlefield, especially with that Pra... ( floating thing ),

recently, as an Adept, I didn't use throw that often, but I did use pretty much everything else, pretty often.

I love detonating biotics.

i agree warp bombs are the ******.

i wonder if bioware gets feedback on how often people enter the powerwheel. im gonna hate activating overpower, then repeatedly going into the power wheel to use my biotics in rapid succesion. makes me almost want to play on PC, just so i can get the full expreince of no-pause-gameplay.

@Troll: Well I used throw twice in that video, just to finish off nearly dead dudes and pull at least two times, but yes, I mainly relied on Warp and Singularity. And since I didn't have Shockwave, I actually used all biotic powers I had.

Edit: www.youtube.com/watch  Mordin LM mission, with a bit more diversity in power use.

The problem with throw is that it doesn't do enough damage even at the heavy evolution when compared with a warp bomb or just plain shooting. It has it's uses for chucking targets off the map or cc'ing a charging krogan but these are highly situational. As an xbox player there is even less incentive to use it since it seems much more efficient to map pull and warp rather than pull/throw or warp/throw (I'll ignore shockwave because it's pitiful on insanity).

All that said, I'm looking forward to evolving throw to do more damage in me3 but it may mean pulling up the powerwheel more often unless bioware allow the ability to map more powers.

As a console player, power-mapping is limited, but I usually map Pull and Throw for outdoor environments, and map Pull and Warp for indoor environments, since Throw does not always kill someone in indoors environments.

Pull + Throw is my favorite biotic combo (to quote Jack: "Fly, b****!"), although occasionally it will not actually kill an enemy and they end up stuck somewhere outside the map, alive, and preventing you from entering the next area or the preventing the next respawn from occurring. For example, I once had to repeat the same fight on Horizon several times because some Collector got stuck somewhere outside the map and the next wave would not trigger. This is where the Rocket Launcher typically comes in handy. I've had similar issues on Azure (which is always buggy) and the Donovan Hock gunship fight.

I've had that bug as well quite a few times especially at the Donovan Hock fight - never thought to use the rocket launcher to take them out. i usually take the rocket launcher for that fight anyway. There is something very satisfying about the pull, throw combo and I do use it situationally. It's brilliant on the shadow broker mission. I always find it amusing when you toss Tela Vasir out into space to finish her off then she appears again magically for the cutscene. It's similairly ridiculous if you shatter her into frozen pieces and she then somehow reassembles herself for her death speech.
