@Troll: Well I used throw twice in that video, just to finish off nearly dead dudes and pull at least two times, but yes, I mainly relied on Warp and Singularity. And since I didn't have Shockwave, I actually used all biotic powers I had.

Edit: www.youtube.com/watch  Mordin LM mission, with a bit more diversity in power use.

yeah yeah, i know.

you must not be familiar with me.

I've had that bug as well quite a few times especially at the Donovan Hock fight - never thought to use the rocket launcher to take them out. i usually take the rocket launcher for that fight anyway.

The most annoying time this bug happened was on Horizon during the "Guard the Defense Tower" sequence. I was using Pull+Throw to chuck Collectors off the map and at some point Harbinger must have assumed control of one them while it was flying away. For about 10 minutes I was running around trying to trigger the next wave of Collectors while Harbinger continued to taunt me. Had to reload the previous checkpoint.

The rocket launcher comes in handy in these situations since it automatically targets an enemy.

Shiny. :3

Should this thread perhaps be reborn anew so you can put that stuff in, or are you going to keep hope up to get that in to the first post of this one?

I'm confident the videos will be added to the first post. I haven't heard from Simbacca yet, but he's not a daily visitor me thinks ;)

I haven't anything to add to the OP except those videos - creating a new topic for that isn't necessary in my opinion and ME3 will likely get its own (strategy & builds) forum anyway.

A place to discuss the Adept and/or ask questions is sufficient imo.

I finally gave the Collector Rifle a chance... and I don't like it.
Two Sidemissions with the Collector Rifle and lots of Warp Explosions.

The Collector Rifle sucks. It had a neat concept that wasn't well executed, stat-wise. Late game, even the Avenger outperforms it in every category.

I disagree.  Although after 5 complete games on Insanity I have gotten the hang of the Vindicator, I am not good at shooters.  The great accuracy of the Collector's Rifle and greater reserve ammo than the Vindicator made it my go-to assault rifle for most of my early Shepards.  When I first started playing ME2, I ran out of ammo so fast with the Vindicator it wasn't funny.  I could also never hit anything with the Avenger.  The Collector's Rifle allowed a noob like me to handle Insanity until my skills improved.

I will end by saying that since the Collector's Rifle was a special bonus for the Collector's Edition that I paid extra money to buy, it would have been nice if the CR was slightly more powerful per shot.  I still like the gun, overall.

the lack of firepower is the reason why I don't really like it. Oh and the model is so big that you barely can see if an ammo power is active or not ; )
For me there are simply always better alternatives, in the beginning the Mattock and soon after the Vindicator and since I barely play Soldier, the ammo issue is not that big of a deal for me.

Hey, question for you Adepters....

I'll be importing my Adept into ME2 soon and I've been running over builds. I'm thinking about using Wide Singularity, and using it more as a 'net', akin to Pull Field (using it to snare multiple unprotected enemies) rather than using it to lock down one single enemy. Does it work well in that regard? Or is Heavy Singularity just that much better?

I never found Wide Singularity that useful. Pull Field is overall a better power to use on unprotected enemies (better cooldown, faster projectile speed).

My main gripe with the Wide version is it's sorta counter-productive. The extra radius is nice, but since you're likely going to hit multiple enemies, the Singularity will disolve rather quickly (to fast imo). I prefer using the Heavy version which is good enough to lock-down multiple enemies (assuming you get one in the right place - the most popular cover spots, doors, corridors etc). It's also much more useful against bosses (almost twice the duration).

You can respec as many times as you like. I suggest try both version to figure out which one complements your playstyle. When you're going to use Stasis to CC the most powerful enemies, Wide might be a good option.

I agree....heavy singularity is better, because it lasts longer. I'm using the heavy version very often on insane diffuculty.
And like you said, it's also great against bosses (for example vs krogans,...).

Good point. My experience is based on Insanity difficulty. At that level all powers have 20% less duration (that's something you do notice, especially early game). Playing on an easier level (without the duration penalty) might make Wide Singularity more useful.

I will be playing on Hardcore (i enjoy the protection system, but don't feel like having to deal with Insanity), so I won't have to deal with the duration penalty.

I'll try it out, I guess. I don't normally respec much but maybe I can run through a couple of missions using both and see which one I like more.

Heavy Singularity also does more damage. But Wide Singularity is less likely to become dysfunctional by sticking to the wrong side of the enemy's cover.

If you're a Shotgun Adept, Heavy's smaller radius may actually benefit you, because Singularity disappears shortly after Shepard walks into it.

i used wide sing. on Arrival last time because i was curious about it.
It actually worked well , yeah a couple seconds less to shoot at them, but it was still enough .
you can recast before if dissipates anyway.

The main issue with wide is it can grab more people, and when that happens it drops incredibly quickly. If you happen to be counting on it staying there a few more seconds, then you die or have to recast sooner than you should. Wide Singularity has gotten me killed more times than it saved me, especially on Husk missions, when 2-3 get in it and it drops is seconds often before the cooldown is done.
I know some people like the Wide, but not me. Of course I don't use singularity as my main lift biotic, only as a trap or a hold of enemies I want to stop. I do bomb off it some, but generally speaking mid-late game pull is for bombing, singularity is for Harby/husks/lieutenants.

From experience I can say that Hardcore / Insanity PTs benefit more from Heavy Singularity.

A compilation of several fights, nothing special, but I need more space on my harddisk ^^
And: I hate the Movie Maker and how much problems he has with several bigger video files in one project...

I haven't played in a month but after watching some vids again (damn you Ryo and Tony) I thought I should give it a try again. And while playing this mission I remembered a conversation in a thread about husks and how I think every bullet is a waste on them. Well I wasted 57 bullets with the vindicator (19 shots) on husks in the Minos Wasteland Husk sidemission, I didn't count the husks but I'm pretty sure there are more than 100 of them.

So if you've got time to waste, take a look of how much of a joke they are in comparison to ME where they could be really annoying.

well... I'll update this post later, give me a moment ; )

Update: ah well,  youtube killed my audio so I had to reupload with a different track.
www.youtube.com/watch
A small throw compilation. I love throw, it's nice to look at and effective.
Two things you need to know: I died one time during the Bloodpack mission and two times during Zaeed's mission.
The pyro who surprised me again the time I actually killed him, killed me during my first run through the bloodpack mission and during the Zaeed mission I died two times at the exact same spot. I'm resistent to learning I think ^^

Wow it starts getting repetitive, am I the only one playing and recording as Adept?
it gets kind of creepy that I'm just talking with myself :P

Three things about the video: I died one time during the Bloodpack mission because of the pyro who surprises me AGAIN the time I actually kill him. And I died two times during the Zaeed mission (two times at the same spot I'd like to add).  I just never learn... or am too much of a brickhead to realize I can't do something the way I would like to.
And last the music: well I tried several tracks and nothing seemed to work so I went for the most inappropriate option ^^

Brilliant video. I LOVE throw.  :o

I've actually only played the Adept once. Maybe I'll do another playthrough soon.
