Just replayed Shadow Broker with my adept on insane; I had totally forgotten the awsomeness of the adept. With all powerups, Garrus and Miranda take down shields and the rest is a pull/throw festival for me. Sometimes I help out with singularity or when an enemy came too near. And a warp explosion amidst three or four enemies is pure joy! :>

I would advocate using the Arc Projector on an Adept - So long as you don't mind burning heavy weapon ammo and you have enough upgrades to your HW ammo cell shields are basically a non-issue. It's not quite as elegant as having ED tacked on or bringing a Overload-wielding squadmate but it makes up for it in sheer punch, not to mention it's crazy AoE and side effects.

I do not need barrier, because I use my squadmates to catch most of the fire. When they get too much damage, I come out of cover and thus draw fire on me, for a short time.

That's a legitimate strategy for basic play - however, if you're wanting to play balls-to-the-wall agressive the addition of Barrier really allows the Adept some leeway in manuevering.

Yeah... barrier is a great way to move from cover to cover and get up close. I just make sure as an adept to not lock into cover unless it is low cover. That way you can pop in and out at ease and you are more prone to control your biotics.

The Shadow Broker ship is a blast for any Adept, no Arc Projector needed there JaegerBane ;)  Biotics are all that's needed. Singularity, Pull, Throw and even Shockwave are devastating - anybody hit will be caught in the storm. There are plenty of stationary Arc Projectors around, be careful not to get hit yourself (that's what happens to me all the time, not mentioning the squad - Liara is great, but she's too occupied planning enemy strategy instead of keeping an eye out for the actual enemy <_<) I think this is perhaps the best fight in ME2, great action and interaction - one of the few areas where the enviroment can be used to your advantage, I'll hope there will be more in ME3 - would make biotics even more fun and flexible than they already are.

Exactly... just aim for those lighting rods and you are set. Use pull or shockwave and it knocks them into the wind... which blows them away... I love it.

Very nice, so much for Adepts not making the grade when enemies have "defenses"

This is so true. I tried to use other HW during my adept / Insanity playthrough, but by the time I got to the LotSB scene where you're chasing Tela Vasir (I had barely 1/3:rd upgrades, had to do it early to unlock companion respeccing because of the stupid 1 point saved to loyalty power preventing 3 full power unlocks per companion until the respec) I just had to take it. The insane number of those flying pickup vans dropping reinforcements was just impossible with Tali and Liara. So after grinding that for 30 minutes I just fired 2 arcs + Singularity + duo-warp bomb to every one of the pickups, and made short work of a seemingly impossible problem.

It's great for stripping defenses to make them completely open for biotics.

NO! I want to show those thugs that even with their red visors and crappy Avengers, if they will not be turned, they will be DESTROYED!

Hmmm, explosions, meleeing, gunfire, mayhem, bouncing geth and flying krogans. None of this namby-pamby cover business. Bonus points for using a warp explosion to shatter a frozen Guld :P

Wow... the 2 mech fight is inspiring. :)

Bozorgmehr, do you find levelling an adept from scratch (lvl5) more fun than playing NG+ or the other way?

Haha, Guld wasn't thinking when he tried to move out - he walked straight into the still active Singularity. Only thing he managed to do was yell 'Attack' and a failed attempt to hit Shep with his Warp, after that everyting became dark ... :innocent:

Thanks, but the 2 YMIRs where probably the easiest enemies in entire vid - Stasis makes fighting them a breeze.

I don't like NG+, it completely removes the rpg element. I really like the leveling system with the Adept class; being able to use more and stronger powers over time and unlike most other classes, it's ok to change focus now and then. Some levels are great for Throw, some for Pull. Energy Drain is the bonus power I use agianst Geth, Stasis whenever YMIRs are around etc.

I respec quite often and sometimes play same mission twice with a completely different build and squadmates. No matter if you prefer long range combat and use a SR, fighting medium range using a SMG/AR or going in hard with a shotgun - the Adept provides; just make sure to get the skills suited for any particular playstyle.

In the video Shep was lvl 22 (Mordin's LM); lvl 23 (Tali's LM) and lvl 24 (Garrus' LM)

I NG+ it.... stasis or barrier make it very plausible and easy.

Thanks Kronner, I love those Iron Maiden guitar riffs :)

@ NICKjnp; Yeah I know, it's great to start fully evolved and equipped - having lvl 4 powers and AR/SG tight from the start is nice, cooldown is a bit problematic pre Horizon though. After that you can get the much needed cd reduction upgrade and it's the same like a normal game. Might try another NG+ Adept playthough soon.

What armor do you use? Full Kestrel minus the headgear?

In my most recent vids I use the Kestrel set, just for the looks - same reason I don't use headgear.

Have you tried ultrasurf? It's freeware and it will give your pc an US based IP adres, this might do the trick. Just execute (no need to install), restart your browser and you're ready to go.

If it works please let me know, so I can add a link to the OP how to circumvent those damn copyright crap :?

So stasis does floor people when you end it prematurely by casting another one.

Lol, so abusive...

A question s an adept fan on the 360, and thus unmodded. Don't you think modding your character takes away from the game by giving them weapons and abilities they shouldn't have?

Yeah, Stasis is awesome power, a bit OPed though it's nice against YMIRs and the like :D and its spammable (without drawbacks)

I don't spam Singularity and Warp. I use Singularity on groups (and powerful enemies) and Warp-detonate them whenever possible. This is the Adept's main strength of course I use both.

I do spam ED on Geth missions though :innocent:

I never said that. On the contrary, I would like more options, choices and customization but without breaking the class system altogether. One of the things I like about the Adept class is their (relative) power diversity - Adepts can and should use multiple powers (instead of just one like most other classes) to make the most of things. They need squadies to help setup combos and guns to strip defenses or to kill - IOW they need everything ME2 provides for max effectiveness.

Glad to hear you liked it, never knew there would be that many 'old school' heavy metal fans out here B)

I usually mod only to make things a little harder. I don't like (using) Heavy Weapons much so I removed them (enabling to swith between all 3 weapons available to the Adept - HP, SMG and bonus weapon without pausing) and it looks better ^_^
I removed squadmates to play solo. Only thing I added was the Claymore. Though Bioware (unfortunately) didn't intended the Claymore to be used by an Adept (and I don't think they considered it to be viable either) I use it because it's my favorite ME2 weapon (check out Kronner's Claymore Fanclub) and to show Adepts can be deadly in close combat and Claymore is the pinnacle in that regard.

IMO the new Geth Plasma Shotgun makes Adepts more powerful compared to Claymore (though I still prefer the latter)

Fair enough. I take it as a reasonably new to adept person, that shielded/armored enemies are best dealt with with guns since warp doesn't exactly strip the stuff away. Or is there a better adept way? Help a newbie out?

Squadmates with Area Overload make Shields all but negligible on standard enemies.  You'll probably want to whip out the SMG on advanced enemies though.  Some people take Energy Drain.

Warp will take care of armor, but only on a single target.  Try Mordin's Incineration Blast or Samara's Area Reave for large groups.

With both shields and armor, bringing a squadmate with a squad ammo power is usually a good idea.
