Okay, first off, I only just got to the citadel on my irst playthrough, so please don't spoil anything about it for me. However, I noticed somehting. Was anyone else greatly reminded of sigil from Planescape?
Think about it. Both are hubs with a great variety of species. They both float, and you can see building above your head. Both are separated into wards. Both are maintained by strange native species - the Keepers and the Dabus, and nobody knows where the young are from. You aren't allowed to inrterrupt either, and both are prone to changing the city around.
Of course, the citadel is both a lot nicer and waaaay more sci-fi. So, yeah... Did anyone else think they were strikingly similar?

Ducks also float. I've never heard of Sigil, but throughout the game I am reminded of the old TV series Firefly. Battlestar Galactica too, but when I watch BG, I get reminded of Firefly

Firefly? Now so sure why there, but with the Citadel I'm reminded a lot of Babylon 5.

Ah, but this is about the lore isn't it? Not about the plot. If mas effect had a general gampleay section it'd go in there.

Just similarities in style, I guess. I'm a Firefly fanatic. I just started watching through the series again for about the trillionth time, and I'm constantly saying, "Hey! That reminds me of Mass Effect!"

I know that most people would find the two different because ME is pure "Sci-Fi" and Firefly is a "Space Western". Still, there's the Human "Alliance" and a few lines in the script that sound alike. I guess if I watched some other shows that more people compare it to then I would change my mind.

Sigil has a completely different vibe. Its a dirty gritty place where the main factions where the faction philosophies were king. You don't really see that with the Citadel, which is a bit more of a pristine cosmopolitan hub. Arguably Omega is closer to Sigil than the Citadel.
