I plan to make a arcane warrior in my next playthrough, and want to wade into melee once my mana gets low.
First of all is this possible or do I need high mana available to use the arcane abilities?
Secondly, how much dex is good to have decent accurancy in melee battle. Looking at other forums I saw a str/dex message saying a two-handed warrior could probably get by with 18 dex, so I was thinking I would build my mage the same way, high magic/will(instead of str/will), about 18-20 dex, 16 cunning and the rest in constiution.
Please if anyone could help, let me know
Arcane Warrior build help....PLEASE!!!!

Ok..first up..I never incresed Dex or strength..and left Cunning at 16...Con I suppose is ok..but your armor is so insane that it won't matter unless you get cleansed by a templar..which is why its good to keep a healer in the party...Also the Arcane warriors Skills give alot of accuracy so dex is pointless as well..just a waste of points...

oh, and be prepared to have over half your mana reserved and unavailable if you plan on being in Melee alot.

Doesnt this say something about complete lack of balance?..

Balance?...lol if a templar cleanses you..you die..thats balance in my opinion.

Bingo! So you have a big problem in one part of the game, but in the rest you are close to unkillable...that is close to the definition of unbalanced!

Either way...Its fun to run around killing things while looking like a ghost.

I am currently wondering if I should pick this up or not. I'm level 13, and so far fully specced into Creation (So healing and buffs) spells. Wonder if a cleric/paladin idea is possible, but with all the mana reserved and high mana costs... I doubt he can be a good healer?
I do would love to see how ghost-mode looks like though.

If you go Blood Mage you can use your mana for all the sustained abilities and health for spells. You can always turn it off if you're taking too much damage and heal or drain a party member.

I would suggest the exploding bodies tree of spells. Functions well with the idea that you cast it, run in, kill target, watch everything else around him die.

I have a few screenshots..considering Ghost mode doesn't turn off during cut scenes...it looks kind of creepy at times.

I played on Hard mode, completed the game in 55hours, Arcane warrior/Blood mage and it aint a walk in the park. your arcane warrior abilites do jack against magic and there's a loot of magic out there in the world to mess you up, especially those pesky cc's with unable to heal they like to throw at you.
As for what build, I suggest you take every passive aura you possibly can, since using spells in combat magic for is expensive (50% added fatigue not considering the armor) and the time it takes for the character to sheat weapon, cast spell, wield weapon again. also pairing with blood magic or spirit healer gives best advantages.

did my first playthrought as Arcane Warrior and had no problems with Templars at all.
For Dex, I propose to have 30 to be able to have offhand dagger of every tier. I am fan of DW and so my AW is DW. Youll get in Wyrmlings lair great AW 1h sword so offhand dagger is nobrainer.

Ah. Had a look, looks nice. Passive no?
Don't think I will take Arcane Warrior though. I like ranged characters and this will obviously leave me no choice but to go melee. I was wondering if I could stay at range, but I tried it out a bit (Got currently 6 spare spell points) and reloaded a few times.
Most succesful seems to me having passive / weapon skills. And then auto-attacking enemies to death. E.g Frost weapons.
