All of my Cerberus content is working fine, but when I buy and dowload DLC as soon as I start the game it says...

"Unable to authorize the listed DLC. Please log into cerberus network with the account used to purchase the DLC. Kasumi"

Under the Bioware social netowrk website it has Kasumi listed under my registered game promotions.

Another discrepancy is different sites list different points values for me.

The social website shows only 260 points while the masseffect2.points.bioware.com shows 800?

Any help would be appreciated.

Very frustrated :pinched:

The glitch probably occurs on the DRM servers. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/policeman.png[/smilie]   So, yes: it's very annoying. Esp. for paid DLCs listed in your registered game promotions correctly. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/uncertain.png[/smilie]   Here's an unofficial 'solution' for the 'DLC cannot be authorised' problem:

DISCLAIMER: I do NOT encourage use of DLC stuff that you haven't paid for. This 'solution' is intended for legit DLC installs, that are hindered by the buggy DRM system, or for DLC items that are not available any more officially, due to time-limited promo-thingies. After all, developers and gamers are in the same boat, it's (buggy) DRM that rocks the boat :-(
  • disable 'auto-connect' and 'feedback' in the game settings: EXTRAS > OPTIONS > ONLINE
  • Find a tool called giveme2entitlement.exe, ME2_AuthPatch.exe or something similar
  • and download it to C:\\Users\\USERNAME\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2 (you might want to backup that folder, esp. the BioPersistentEntitlementCache.ini file before ;-)
  • Launch the little tool and follow the instructions.
Side effect of this 'solution': it has to be applied again after each new (DLC and/or patch) install. Logging into CN from in-game invalidates resets the 'solution'. The little in-game news-feed has to be sacrificed as well, but can be read here.

This crack also to enables modding of DLC weapons :-)   Their stats can be found in the BIOWeapon.ini files in \\Mass Effect 2\\BioGame\\DLC\\DLC_...\\CookedPC folders. Normally, moddded DLC .ini files would be flagged as invalid by the online DRM system, but as this fix circumvents that... I recommend Notepad++ for editing ME2's .ini files. Windows' standard text editor breaks them!

Bravenu3, this fix works, thanks. But one question: can i login to my account now?

If you log-in from within the game, the manual activation will probably be reset, sorry. But I figure, the news items are worth sacrificing for being able to play DLC ;-)

"sign in change"? Never had that before, either with DLCs I paid for, or the promo DLCs that I couldn't get officially.

Is ME2 still connecting to CN when starting the game? Disable 'auto-connect' and 'feedback' in ME2 > EXTRAS > OPTIONS > ONLINE and run the crack again.

the sign in problem was caused by the above "fix". seems like there are quite a few others having this problem. need an official fix! this is just not cool.

Has anyone had any 'official' feedback from Bioware on this problem?

No, looks like they (EA and the DRM provider as well) just try to sit it out :-(

Which is nothing but a big, stinking, annoying time theft from all the people who get "DLC could not be authorized"-error and come here seeking for help. Luckily DYI and civil disobedience are good problem solvers ;-)

Have you disabled the two on-line options in the game options before?

Maybe downloading the file anew helps: https://encrypted.go...me2entitlements

I have exactly the same problem - says: 'Unable to authorize the listed DLC. Please log into cerberus network with the account used to purchase the DLC.' I tried turning off the auto log in, and got lost trying to follow the link to download some unoffical fix. This is really very poor service, paying for this content and then not being able to access it because of no error on my part. Lame. Any fixes?

I downloaded A file called this, despite the very idea going against any common sense. I followed the instructions, which lead to me running an exe file, which lead to me being unable to even play the game. Literally tried resuming, loading the game (which didn't even have the image file, not to mention didn't load) and even going as far as trying to make a new game which didn't do much other then freeze at the main menu.

At the moment I'm installing the game after deleting my saved file in the hopes that the game will work afterward. If it does not, I'm going to ask for my money back.

These posts are from months ago and this still isnt fixed yet? Seriously, if you pay for DLC and it dosent work properly you would expect the company to fix the problem, at least I would. I just bought the Kasumi DLC and am getting the same message.

And yet none of you even bothered reading either the forums description;

Mass Effect 2 PC Technical Support (Spoilers Warning)

This forum is for fans and owners of Mass Effect 2 on the PC to assist each other with technical questions. Official game support is provided by Electronic Arts, but fans are encouraged to try to assist each other here.

or the "Read First" thread. http://social.biowar...6/index/4795299

You have admitted to trying all sorts of unofficial fixes, downloading and running exe files, and wonder why it doesnt work.

1) Do your systems meet or exceed minimum specs. Dont just say "yes", post the details. The information we need is listed in the Read First thread.

2) Have you logged into the game with the same account you used to purchase and download the DLC?

3) This forum is for fans of the game to try and assist each other. Rants, whinges, whining and the like will be ignored, and little or no help will be forthcoming. EA provides the official support, and are paid to put up with poor attitudes.

4) These DLC's have been downloaded by thousands, if not millions, of people and they have not hasd the same errors. This indicates the problem lies either with your machine, or you. As mentioned, does your machine meet or exceed the specs? Have you got the right version of DirectX installed? Have you patched the game with the 1.02 patch?

You've just left me in COMPLETE total amazement... but since you ask so nicely

Mobo: asrock x58 extreme
CPU: I7 920 quadcore 2.67 GHz
GPU: Nvidia gtx 285
RAM: 12 Gb 1366 MHz (I don't know the brand though)
Harddrive: 1 Tb Sata II 7200RPM (don't know the brand)
PSU: 750 Watt PSU (don't know the brand)

Oh and yeah, I'm running the latest DX10 update plus win7 ultimate...

I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be working other than poor maintenance on the other end of mine, my computer is pretty near completely up to date, I've reregistered mass effect 2, Redownloaded everything, used the same account I've always used (since i don't have any other account), the only thing i haven't tried is rebuying, and I'm not going to do that, if the thing isn't fixed I'm expecting a refund... but I'd rather see it working to be honest. I feel I've done everything within my power to get the DLC's to work proper... does anyone else know anything ?

Try to picture it from this end. We try to help people, but they cant be bothered helping themselves by reading a couple of lines in the forums before they go off the deep end. After the 5th or 6th time, you lose your patience and give curt responses. Check out my replies to those who post calmly, and provide details, and you will see that I sing a different tune altogether. You wouldnt believe the amount of people who fail on the first 2 points.

Given you havent posted your exact problem (in this thread at least, and no other threads appear under your recent history), answer a couple of questions to see what we can clarify;

Which DLC you having problems with, and whats the exact text of the error you are getting?

ME2 specifically requires DirectX9.0c, which comes on the disk. It can run with 10 or 11, but errors are known to occur. Win7 is capable of running both versions side by side. If its not installed, either load it from the disc, or download from MS website if you have a digital download version.

Is your AV/firewall configured to trust ME2 related connections to the outside world? Important to double check if it has been updated, a change of vendor has occurred, or you are running an unofficial cracked exe file, which some AV scanners will quarantine.

Which version of Win7, 32 or 64 bit? Have you tried running as administrator?

Load the ME2 launcher, hit configure, select the "Game" option, and give us the versions of the 4 exe files listed. Do NOT give out the cd key.

Fairly understandable that you lose your patience of course... It's the steam-version I'm running right now, I take it you know it just automatically installs essentials, It's all of the DLC I experience problems with and the exact message is as stated "unable to authorize DLC..."

I've set masseffect 2 and it's connections to trusted in my kaspersky, I'm not running any cracks or DIY fixes for the game, just prue steaminstall,

And it's a 64-bit windows 7, I'm always running as adminstrator and that executable thingy dingy that always gives problems is completely turned off through my services.

I don't have any version for my uninstall, but the launcher is v1.01, exe is 1.02 and config is 1.03... which i find a little strange, but I've tried reinstalling it again with all automatic updates redacted and then manually updating things, and now I'm going to install the DLC again to see if it'll do any difference. If it works you have one less headache ;) sorry for coming across as angry, but I've been busting my head and reading tonnes of other forums to figure out what and what not to do with it, so naturally my patience was a little lowered too heh.

Due to the fact that in Australia we don't have unlimited data plans, I dont get anything from Steam, or even buy hard copies of anythign that have anything to do with Steam. I made that mistake with W40K, DOW2. Bought the hard copy, and found I still had to download 4.5gb of setup files because the version on Steam servers was newer than the version that came on disk.

I find it just as strange as you about the lack of uninstall version numbering, and can only assume its one of those things thats related to Steams tampering with the game files. The other files match current versions.

I mentioned to someone else that it could also just be congestion on the servers due to teh fact that ME 1&2 were on sale via steam, ea, and a lot of other retailers for the holiday season, and a suggestion was to set an alarm to wake up at some ridiculous time when you think there may be less traffic to the servers based on your local time.

Ive read in another thread on how the Cerberus Network is going to be diabled, then reenabled, then diabled again. With EA playing silly buggers like that, it could be having an impact on registering the DLC.

Let us know how you go, and we'll see what else we can do from there.

I had the same issue. But it fixed myself when I used the same account information I used for Bioware, even though Cerberus asks for EA Login. Turned off the auto login features in options. Restarted the game, logged in with Bioware info again on Cerberus. And it worked!

^ should have all items you have unlocked for your games. If you don't see it there, then you either haven't entered the correct code in the right location, you did so on a different account or there was a major glitch.

You have to enter the cerberus code : http://social.biowar...redeem_code.php
then items downloaded from : http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php
Then you install them and link your game with Cerberus console to your EA/Bioware account using Email and password(without special characters such as#$%$^&*).
