Simple question, why does the toolset not have a test button? A button that just exports with dependent resources and loads the module right into DA would be so useful. I've only been working on my module for 2 days but I've seen that @!*$@ing intro so many times...
Why is there no test button?

I'm sure you can start it up without the intro movie by either moving the file somewhere else or altering some ini settings somewhere.

don't know what you are doing but the intro will be displayed only once... you can also start dragon age without the launcher.

you can disable the intro movies by going to launcher > Configure > Video > Disable Intro Movies (easy way of doing what chewy said)
You can skip the launcher when running the game by placing a shortcut to daorigins.exe on your desktop or someplace convenient (what semper said).

Well, I guess I could do that...

there should be test button that goes directly into the module.

that's why today all the games get more and more casual... it ain't that hard to click 3 buttons.

I agree it's not hard to click 3 buttons. It is hard to have to do that every time you want to test a tiny little change you've made. As it is I have to set it to export dependent resources, open the launcher while that's happening, when it's done launch the game, skip the intro, load up the module. If I could just press a button and then go off and do something for a minute or two while it loads. I'm pretty sure (as long as it's possible to directly load a module and skip the intro via command lines) that it'd be pretty easy to add this.

link the game.exe on your desktop and skip the launcher - there won't be any intro to look at. btw: l8r, if you're a little experienced with the toolset you won't switch to the game every minute to test out your stuff.
another point: to get rid of the water mesh issue you have to post your level from single player and copy stuff to your module's folder and delete the files at single player toolsetexport. that's by far more work than starting dragon age^^

You can have both the client and the toolset open simultaneously. No need to restart the client for every test.

it's the loading and extra manouvering that is annoying not the amount of buttons that needs to be pressed.

perhaps there are valid reasons to not have a test button like technical problems but if it's just a feature that is missing that could be implemented without too much effort it's definately quite dumb thing to be working against. unless you want a job at bioware and want to look sympathetic or grease the wheels in other ways.

daorigins.exe --enabledeveloperconsole -autologin=YOUR_MODULE_UID_HERE, in a .bat or shortcut.
Then in game you can supposedly use the console command RefreshModuleResources (r+TAB shortcut) to reload scripts and data according to the "missing manual" wiki. I know that doesn't work with area changes, but it might help save some time.
You might also want to not call chargen from the module script if it's just to quickly try some stuff and you don't want to go through it every time.
