I use the F11 key to take screenshots and they get dumped into the screenshots folder under the Mass Effect folder in My Documents. They are all bitmap (.bmp) files. I can't open them with Windows Photo Viewer, Paint, nor Windows Live Photo Gallery. I get messages like "Paint cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is currently not supported." At first I assumed those programs didn't support .bmp files but that is not the case. I downloaded a random .bmp file and tested it; no problems. I want to turn them into jpegs but the problem is I can't even open them with paint to resave them. The only program on my computer I can use to view them is the Quicktime PictureViewer but I can't use it to re-save them nor is it convenient since it's very basic and can't transition from photo to photo with a click or button press. Instead, I have to close it and double click the next file to open it. Anyone else have this problem? I'd really like a workaround or fix to this.

Additional info:
Steam version of Mass Effect
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
Windows programs should all be up to date.

Strange, paint works for me. (XP Pro 32-bit.)

I would suggest trying another program like IrfanView.
