I was recently playing through the Geth Incursion missions and I was attacking the Geth base on Anitbar when I ran into this. I'd parked the Mako on the mountains above an behind the base and sniped all the Geth in the towers when the Geth Dropship appeared and dropped off reinforcements. Now, the dropship stayed still so I decided to snipe it just for fun because you're not really going to make a scratch on it, when to my utter shock, 5 or 6 shots later the Dropship was flaming and it finally flew away. Eventually I went around to the front and attacked with the Mako, wiping the base out, but still, that whole bit with the dropship was just so surreal it was not funny.

I remember this from my Incursion mission. I don't actually think that it's a glitch, though. I was actually able to take it down with the Mako, which triggered Wrex to say, "Dead and done. Just the way I like 'em." It apparently killed everything else around the base as well.

I did the same thing, on purpose. It just made sense to try to shoot it down before it dropped more troops... well, until I thought of the exp I lost, but oh well.

Okay, but I didn't use the Mako to take the dropship down though, I've done that before. I used a HMWSR VII (Master) sniper rifle with a Rail Extension VI and High Explosive Ammo. Great for one shot kills on humanoids, not so much on anything the size of a dropship!

I'll give that a try next time I run into it. I'm not sure if that was a glitch or not, but I'll figure it out.

High end guns like the spectre weapons do as much or more damage than the Mako cannon. It gets kind of silly on insanity, some mook guard will pop immunity and you can shoot him multiple times square in the chest with the Mako main gun and he'll still be alive.

Are you kidding me? That is just too weird for words, that any Spectre weapons could do that much damage. Thanks for that info though.
