I have noticed that during Mass Effect 2's gameplay the corners of the screen appear a bit dark. I know it's not my LCD monitor because I don't have this issue with other games. Anyone else notice this? It's no big deal of course and you have to really look for it to notice but I think it's a bit strange.
Dark corners.

It did that in ME1 too. I thought my monitor was busted.

Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me but I think I noticed it in Dragon Age too.
I know it can't be my monitor because I looked carefully while playing Alpha Protocol and noticed nothing.
I guess it's just a Bioware thing.

Same here, I wish it was something you could toggle. I really don't like it, but after a while I forget about it.

Never noticed that in ME 1, 2, or dragon age ever. I'll be sure to look for it now though.

Strangely enough, I think I noticed this in MDK 2 as well and that game came out 10 years ago. Bioware must think playing a game with tunnel vision is desirable.

Interesting, I didn't know there was a term for it. I guess it's one of those love it or hate it graphical effects, kind of like bloom.

If anyone owns Left 4 Dead (not the sequel) there is a commentary track on the first level that talks about this trick and its desired effects on players. Interesting stuff if you have the time/game.

The vignetting can be disabled by setting BioEngine.ini setting:
bUsePostProcessEffects=False
its luvly jubbly.

Brains, thread wants brains. You maybe didn't notice that the last post in this thread was like 3years ago?
