That's true. I think if a companion's death is a rare event or one that is VERY hard to get (like Oghren in Origins or Anders in Awakening), then ignoring it is not THAT big of a deal. It'd still be nice if it was acknowledged for the sake of continuity.

And there's also the case of Wynne showing up even if she was killed... well, that didn't happen for me.

Wynne living might actually have some canon explanation as long as she's not decapitated. That spirit brought her to life once, why can't it do that again after you leave?

You know what might be interesting? Being the one to break the news to Nathaniel about his family. It would obviously take a few weeks for the news to reach Kirkwall (especially with all the chaos in Ferelden) and you could easily have heard about it before he does (maybe from Isabela when she shows up?).

Yeah I also heard the interview where he said that the epilogues aren't completely conclusive... I don't really mind, as long as it makes some sort of sense. Which it probably will - for me, the only one who died was Justice and Velanna disappeared, so I don't need to worry about that stuff anyway.

Wynne turning up is a bug I think - I've never seen her in Amaranthine on any of my girls that killed her. I count myself fortunate ;-) Although its a shame to miss Ines' lovely comments about her.

Sooo good to hear I am not alone in my feelings toward Velanna.  There's a reason I killed her right away in my Nate fic.

I think it's the look in her eyes that makes me think the same thing as you about it.  Otherwise, it's a marvelous piece of work.  Love it.

Only in your fic? :innocent:.  She meets an untimely end in most of my playthroughs.  Apart from anything else Anders got stuck in a comment loop and it drove me nuts.

I only killed her on my last playthrough.  Before I let her live but never took her out with me.  She got to stand around the Keep and flaunt her boobs instead.  Figured Varel was a good man and could use a bit of entertainment.

So, all this talk of Nate made me start another Awakenings playthrough. I decided to use one of my Dalish girls. She's an archer by the name of Rhosyn. I had great fun with her so I definitely didn't want to respec. That meant Nate got the dual wield treatment - he was also going to have a go at tanking.  She turned out to have Devout armour in her bag which he looks particularly tasty in.

That got me thinking - I wonder what that conversation would be like if you could have it?  Here's the bit of silliness my brain conjured up:

"Hmm. You said that before." Rhosyn shook out the armour then held it up. "It should fit you."

"I have armour you know. In that chest." Nate glanced down when she dropped two swords on the bed. "And a bow."

"I think you'd do better with two swords."

"I'm an archer."

"No that won't work. I'm an archer." Rhosyn smiled at him. "I need you to use swords. Like a warrior."

"I'm not a." Her cheerful expression didn't waiver for a second, and Nate had the feeling she'd stand there until darkspawn overran the Vigil if he didn't agree. "Oh for Andraste's sake, give them to me." He took a step forward and felt his foot hit something soft. When it let out a chittering noise and ran into the corner, Nate cursed softly. "Curse it, did I hurt him?"

"No, Alistair's tough. He's just annoyed you forgot he was there."

"Alistair? You named your spider after the King?" Why did that strike him as being particularly funny? "Does he know?"

"He won't if you don't tell him."

Love the expression on the screenshot there. And heh about naming the spider 'Alistair'. Brings a whole other meaning to spinning a web of lies, eh?

I see it as a sibling thing - you know, your brother is being particularly annoying one day, so you name your pet spider after him. :innocent:

@Tamsen - madly hitting the screenshot key gets some 'interesting' results sometimes. I particularly like that one- very cheeky.

F9 you say...I use Printscreen *slinks away pretending she knew there was a proper bound key all the time and that she isn't a big noob*

I screenshot so much sometimes I lose all immersion...perhaps not a good thing.
