That's just wrong.

My first character conscripted him because it was my first game and I wanted to Collect Them All!

My HFN sent him away because she wasn't desperate enough to deal with his belligerence. When he came back later with a better attitude, she recruited him.

Anyway, my FHN conscripted Nathaniel for the same reason as A71C3. Ok, she did not want to die during the attack but she had hoped to take down as much of his father's men as possible. My Orlesian let him go because it will be troublesome dealing with a person who has a grudge on the order.

Because I didn't RP my Cousland that way.She's tolerant of most people,but after arriving at the Keep and being attacked by talking darkspawn,she wasn't really in the mood to be spoken to rudely but the son of the man who murdered her parents.
She could see that Nathaniel was deluded and obviously didn't know the true extent to what his Father did,so she sent him on his way.When he came back and was a little more civil,she recruited him.

Ooo, that makes for a better revenge than what I dished up.

So.. not to change the subject but with the announcement for Dragon Age 2, the new main character is supposedly "known to be a survivor of the Blight and the Champion of Kirkwall" (source). I wonder if s/he knew Nathaniel during his time in Kirkwell. That would be pretty cool if Nathaniel made a cameo in DA2.

My HNF didn't want revenge on Nathanial at all. Once Rendon Howe was dead she was finished. He's the one who attacked her family. Near as she could tell his family had nothing to do with it.



I conscripted him because he said he'd be a nuisance if I let him go. Figured it was better to keep an eye on him.

If I remember correctly, he doesn't know why his father was killed, or any of the crimes his father was involved in. I'm pretty sure he knows that his father was involved in the Cousland massacre, but not how or why. He doesn't entirely believe your story until he talks to his sister in Amaranthine.

According to Nathaniel,his Father murdered the Couslands because "They were going to sell us (Ferelden) out to the Orlesians."

I think he came back to Ferelden because he heard that his father was dead and thought it was for being on the losing side of the war. He might have even heard about his family's disgrace as Ferelden would have been big news with the Blight and all the upheaval.

Mmmm. It would give too much away to say very much, but let's just say a couple of characters might be meeting up with him before he takes ship back home...

I was just thinking. If DA2 starts during the Ferelden blight, couldn't we meet Nathaniel in Kirkwall? Maybe we get to adventure with him a little before he returns to Ferelden. And if you're a female Hawke, well...

Nate appears in the next chapter, which will probably go up tomorrow. He's going to be a fairly major player in this one - which should be interesting as I've not really written much of him before. Must do much Awakenings research play!

O.M.G. TOTAL AWESOME!  I LOVE how the story is shaping out!  And it fits with the original game.  Your Cousland is all sort of deliciously powerful, I can't wait until he meets Nate. <3<3<3

Here are the instruction kindly given to me by SurelyForth in the Anders thread :

"Go to: C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Dragon Age\\\\packages\\\\core_ep1\\\\data\\\\face.erf
and open it in the toolset. Extract the mor you need. You should be
able to change hair, but I don't think you can fiddle with their facial
structure."

I just looked up the hair style reference number I needed and changed it in the table

After you've changed the value for the hair, do you have to create a new face.erf file and put that into the overrides folder or just save over the original one?

Edit: Neeeevermind.  Figured it out.

I just put the changed .mor into the override directory:

documents/bioware/dragon age/AddIns/DEMO/core/override/toolsetexport

I only put it in there because that's where my other face morphs live
