I found it odd that Nate doesn't want to save Amaranthine - has he forgotten his sister might be in there?

God that part was frustrating for me!  I thought the same exact thing!  Another thing that drove me nuts was what was he thinking when maybe siding with the Architect?

It's hard to say. How old is he supposed to be again? Mid-20s? In the pictures above, I almost interpreted him as being early 20s.

The age thing is vexing me. If he is younger than Thomas that means he's a few years younger than a HN warden.



If he isn't then he could be quite a bit older....bah.



I like the the short hair on Nate - he doesn't seem the long hair type to me. Plus, he's an archer, wouldn't it get all tangled up in the bow and quiver?

I can't remember.  I do remember I had it in my head he was older and saw someone say that he was younger.  Now I can't find that.

It does make more sense that he's oldest in some ways, but why would Howe send him away if he was?  You'd think he'd want his eldest married to the Cousland and not his youngest.

Unless Rendon really didn't like Nate - gah!

I dunno - I will search again for the source of my confusion.  You guys are more lore savvy than me and if you tell me he's the eldest then I will accept that as truth!

I was but no answer.  With the DA2 announcement he's probably got more pressing things on his plate.

Wasn't there a theory about how the plot against the Couslands took a few years and he sent his son away so he wouldn't see any of it (Nate would never approve) and planned to invite him back once it was a done deal and things had settled?

Was there?  Huh, missed that one.

But then if it took a few years to plan to take over the Couslands, does that mean Cailan had planned for the kingdom's troops to go to Ostagar years ago?  I remember Bryce telling Howe that he only got the call for troops from Cailan only a few days before the attack of Highever.

Right.  I seriously doubt I'll ever get an answer so from now on - this is what I'm basing all my Nate on.

He's the eldest boy and the 'send him away 'cause he's too much of a straight arrow to approve' theory is true.

I feel so much better now.  Time for lunch ;-)

It's been touched upon a couple of times but lack of info leaves little room for speculation.
Edit: Lampost in Winter has to be the coolest looking staff ever.  Too bad it doesn't have better specs.

It would be nice to see Nathaniel in the Free Marches, even if only during a cameo. He's easily the best character in the expansion.
