Isn't it though?  Alistair is early 20s, and it makes me feel dirty sometimes to squee over him. But I'm 30, Nate's 30.....perfection.


I feel creepy squeeing over both Nate and Alistair and I'm only in my late teens. :blink:
But then again,that's probably because I'm a rather vocal squee-er,so to speak.

But I'm glad to see I wasn't too far off when it came to guessing Nate's age.
And I do like the idea of Nathaniel going behind his father's back and sneakily having him killed. :wub:
...don't ask me why.

Okay, instead of being a star struck child sent away, Nate was a hero worshiping, idealistic, honorable young man. He is also capable and decisive. Rendon would certainly have seen Nate as a problem. Killing Nate outright would have been suspect. So he uses a pretense to remove a potential problem. Off ti Kirkwall with Nate. I doubt if Rendon every planned on bringing Nate back to Ferelden. He may even have had him killed eventually. Maker! I hate Rendon even more now.

I truly doubt it,too.I think he would have only brought Nathaniel back from Kirkwall if he was of some obvious use to him.

I definately think Rendon was the type of person who would have had any of his children killed if they threatened his plans for gaining power in any way.

I grew up playing JRPGs where all the main characters were something like 17-19 yrs old. A person any age older than that was a "seasoned veteran" or elder for the group.

Nathaniel is the eldest. Thomas is the youngest. I think we set Nathaniel's age at 30, but I don't think we ever established the ages of the others.

I'm above 19, my characters are also above 19... neither feels like a "seasoned veteran" of anything *sighs*. As for Nate being 30, it reminds me of the times I was asked out by guys at least seven years my senior. I'm currently a little older than Alistair, if he is indeed in his early 20s :P

I remember this list Posted Image Most of it is absolutely true. At the time, I never even thought about that I might out-age the characters in the RPGs and look at them differently. Thankfully, the video game mainstream has matured along with the people who grew up with them.
