It was the final battle to save Vigil's Keep. I finished killing all the children at the East Wall and the quest arrow never came up to kill the Ogre at the gate. I restarted the final battle both pre and post 1.04 and still no joy. I also went back and finished a couple of quests I had hanging about just in case, started the final battle, and the darn thing didn't trigger then either. I was stuck unless I went back to a previous save and saved Ameranthine. So, I'm trying it again with a brand new OW. Hopefully the new patch will correct whatever was wrong with that last game.

Please let us know if the patch works.  I've never been able to save the Vigil because of that bug.  From what I could find out its seems to be related to a mod.

Edit: ToP.  'cause its early in the morning and I feel like I need a hug.  I'll settle for a virtual one...

Dang! I wish I knew what mod. I'll let you know when I get back to the Vigil. In the meantime, time to recruit Nate! I wish I knew how to put a scar on my OW though. She's been through a bit and I wanted her appearance to be a bit more rugged.

It may be IA - I'm not sure.  I tried disabling all of my mods except that one, then starting the Vigil again.  It didn't work.  I didn't want to disable IA in case everyone ended up naked.

I mean, I like Varel and all but I don't *like* him ;-)

Oh, if you're a toolset user adding a scar is reasonably easy and editing the save game for an OW should be doable.  I changed my OW (see current avatar).  You can't seem to do it for an imported char because there's too much information imported with them (at least I assume that's why you can't open it).

There are a few mods you can download to give you scar options in the Toolset.

Oh, re the bug at the Vigil (I got distracted by those pecs for moment there). I'm not sure its IA - I might try a run without it on and see.



Others posted that they'd tried disabling all mods and still couldn't progress past the childer at the north wall.



TBH - even though Nate wants the Vigil saved - I'm happier saving Amaranthine...the cut scene when you don't is too sad to watch.

Definitely pre 1.04.  I haven't tried since the patch myself.  I will give it a go when my Orleisan gal gets there this time and see what's what.

I have gone back to the Vigil but haven't seen Nate's gratitude - as if I could leave him behind :innocent:

Hmmm, I installed the patch a while ago but haven't had a chance to play Awakening (trying to finish a F!Brosca run on Origins). I think I'll try playing an OW tonight and see if I can't progress past the childer at the north wall.

Thank you! I'm trying to work on another one where it looks like you've unlocked a romance achievement with Nate but I can't seem to find an image of what a PC achievement looks like unlocked in Dragon Age.  Oh well. *goes back to playing her OW*

Well this has pictures of what the achievements look like (I know I recognize some from the XBox) and since it has a few pictures that are for PC-only achievements like Warden-Commander and Redeemer it should work.

Good news is your illustrious thread starter (yes, I'm takling about myself, and I'm not ashamed to do so) has been inspired to start playing again. I played like 5 times on xbox, then got the PC version, and am having trouble getting through one game on PC, becuase I'm kind of played out.



"Why does this matter to me?" You ask? Well, I won't start Awakening until I get my Cousland through Origins....which means lack of beautiful Nathaniel screenshots until I get through Origins one last time.



"But, just start a Orlesian Warden!" You say. *gasp!* I say. No, only my Cousland belongs with Nate, not some Orlesian tart. Also, if I don't finish this playthrough first, I'll never finish.



Also, I've had like 3 glasses of wine and am a little drunk......who wants some stolen Nate?

You could always use the in game console to breeze through the boring plot points of Origins in order to get to Nate quicker.

Console scares me...I'm terified of screwing up my game.  Its the same reason I'm very light on the mods.

Hey, I tried to have him do the Joining . . . after all, the DE didn't have anything against him, really .  . . .but he said he'd rather be killed . . .so, I said, "hang him".
