Last ones I promise. Nate saved Nate with some bandages, then Buntie sorted out Nate's issues with fighting Darkspawn (the wuss). Now they're off to kill Darkspawn (who may or may not look like Nate). We wish Buntie and her Nates well in their adventures.

hehe ty :)  I had to stop after that.  I'm sure there's a clever and easy way to replace everyone with Nate but I was doing it manually.  I had a lot of fun though - if you thought Alistair's voice coming out of Nate is funny - Loghain's is just hilarious.

Ok, I don't know if anyone else has noticed the similarities - but Richard Armitage as Nathaniel anyone?

A quick and dirty morph. I'm not clever enough to quickly replace everyone so I chose a few to start with. I will contine trying to replace everyone but my pc ;-)

Two reasons for my posting, 1) I think this is a hilarious idea and I want to see more ( even though I am an unashamed Alistair fangirl) and 2) Nate's thread was slipping dangerously close to the second page so I thought I'd shamelessly try and stop that. Posted Image

I'd add a pic of Nate but I didn't take any the first time I played Awakenings and haven't got round to finishing the ambitiously started second run through.
Happy Nate loving!

To avoid filling this thread with screen caps that I'm sure not everyone wants to see (if in fact anyone wants to!), I've made an album of Buntie's adventures in Ferelden.

Pardon the lame captions but I do my best ;-)

A dwarf's view of Ferelden

Why have I done that and why am I mentioning it here?  Well, you see, all the humans look alike ;-)

Oh, can you please relate the dialog? I didn't even know that he'll come back if you let him go.

(This happens as a random encounter. I forget if it occurs on the way to Amaranthine or coming from.)

Nate: Wait. I want to talk to you.
Anders: Don't look now, but I think the bird's come flying back.
Oghren: Careful. This one might go all Zevran on you.
Nate: You set me free. Just let me go, despite what I said or what I might do. I want to know why.
PC (one of many choices): What you do now is your own responsibility.
Nate: I see. Take me with you. Make me a Grey Warden.
PC (one of many choices): It's not that easy, Nathaniel.
Nate: I have nowhere to go. I fully expected to die in there, maybe I even wanted to. But you let me go. Make me a Grey Warden. Let me try. Please.
PC (one of many choices): Why should I ever trust you?
Nate: You probably shouldn't. I just... I have to try. I have to do something.
PC (one of many choices): You think this will redeem your name, do you?
Nate: I don't know. Maybe that's not even important. Maybe it's more important that I do my part to face the darkspawn. Maybe that's what my father should have done.
PC (one of many choices): Very well. We'll see how you do with the Joining.
Anders: In your future, I sense a knife in the back. Just saying.
Oghren: So we just let anyone into this outfit, huh?
Nate: Nothing to fear.

I never knew he found ya and asked to become a Warden...

Ugh, inspired damnit. Hate. Hate. Hate.

Going now to fire up Awakening and make a new Warden to see this!

This piece of dialogue always strikes me as being slightly ironic :

Anders: In your future, I sense a knife in the back. Just saying.

Oghren: So we just let anyone into this outfit, huh?

Not so much from Anders but Oghren. He's not exactly prime Warden material in Awakenings is he? ;-)

Its interesting that if you conscript Nate no one minds but if you recruit him when he asks - disapproval.

Maybe it's becuase they think he's asking to join the Grey Wardens, just so he's close to you and its easier for him to kill you?  *shrugs*

Yes, definitely.  I just think its odd they weren't given disapproval or comments if you conscript earlier.  Or maybe the writers thought Varel was disapproving enough ;-)

(I love the he way he says "Commander!?")

I thought it was odd too, but that does make sense. If I personally had sent someone off who had been threatening or thinking about killing me (and I was aware) and then comes back and asks to join me, I'd probably tell them to get lost due to the fact I just don't trust them.

I think if you conscript, it's you're forcing him to join the Wardens and I guess Anders and Oghren maybe see it as some sort of punishment. But again, odd because if they seriously thought Nathaniel was going to kill the Warden, he'd still be able to stick a dagger in the Warden's back, conscripted or asking to join.

Ah well...

Ooo, quick question for you Mel_Redux (fairly dumb, but I find it amusing to ask):
How many times have you killed Velanna?

If you don't understand why I'm asking, then just ask me.

I assume you're asking because of the "flirting" that goes on between her and NAte.  I've never killed her, I always keep her in the keep and never let her out.  I'll kill her one of these playthrough's though...I never heard the "flirting" banter that goes on, since I keep her in the keep, and I don't think I ever want to.

Having only played Awakening once,I actually didn't know it was possible to kill Velanna...must have missed that.
But now that I know you can..

I always kill her. Besides Justice dissapproves -10 for doing that.

Even when not there for some reason.

/wave Jenn.

I'll pipe in and say I recruited Velanna on my first unfinished run. Her dialogue at the end of the mines where she demands to become a warden made me go "wah!?" So every run since - she dies in her camp.

Edit - must type slower - allow brain to engage

The only upside to recruiting Velanna:

You get to hear Nathaniel (sly dog that he is) fluster a female with his particular brand of subtle humor and banter.

Even if it made me actually growl at my screen when it happened, the one time I decided to recruit her. :)

Oh, Avilia?

Your "all Nate, all the time" mod reminds me of Being John Malkovich :

Nathaniel, Nathaniel! Nathaniel, Nathaniel!
