I'm willing to bet that a confirmed drunken Alistair cameo will lead to many people redoing their games (or at least from the Landsmeet on) to see it but that seems like too big of a time commitment given that he'll probably just be drinking and rambling about how he used to be a Prince and a GW and no one will believe him if his epilogue is any indication.

Do you think there would be an uproar from Alistair fans if the *only* Alistair cameo was with the drunk Alistair option?

Also, I played through Awakening again, even though I *swore* I wouldn't, just to see a new conversation with Loghain. It was worth it.

It was easy to believe that the most significant characters might at least get a mention, but if they've actually set up Nate to be in Kirkwall on purpose... it does beg the question why this character, of all of them, was written into DA2.

I'm curious too as to what Nate's purpose in DA2 will be.

I spared Loghain too. But I didn't marry Alistair to Anora because I thought Anora would do well enough with Ferelden that there wasn't a need to trap Alistair there.

As for Nate... it's not like he can stay in the Free Marches for very long because he returns to Ferelden right after the Blight and potentially becomes a Warden there. I guess perhaps if he doesn't become a Warden he returns to Kirkwall? (as a romance option?! ) ... and if the game takes place during and after the Blight, then he can't really be shown in DA2 in Kirkwall before that point... unless that means the narrative goes even further into the past, even before Hawke came to the Free Marches.

I believe I remembered reading that you'll be seeing the actions of your Warden in Origins and Awakening from a different perspective, so maybe we will see Nate Howe in Kirkwall (and maybe Hawke can coax why he's in the Free Marches from him). It would be cool to see him return as a party member (maybe joins Hawke for the duration of the Blight and then learns of what happens to the Howes returns to Ferelden, then maybe comes back a year or two later as a Warden and meets up with Hawke again?) but I highly doubt him to be a full party member because none of his epilogues mention returning to the Free Marches (or at least the ones I've seen). It would be nice to have some sanity in your party though, so you can't help but hope!

There's a thought. DA2 does take place over a ten year span and Awakening's timeline is only 6 months. Maybe Nate could come back to Kirkwell after a few years as a Warden to help Hawke fight the darkspawn?

Exile. If Anora had demanded an execution, and I couldn't stop her, I think my character would have hated herself.  and possibly Loghain too.

Edit: Oh, and I thought that if he wasn't married to Anora that maybe he could find his own path, or that he wouldn't let one incident ruin his view of the Wardens.

Yeah, this would be borderline punishment to many Alistair fans, I think. He probably would need to make a King cameo too. If Hawke is going to rule the Free Marches, maybe they could meet in a political capacity, eh?

Yeah, my character convinced Loghain to do the DR. It was *competely* against everything she believed in, but she *looooooves* Loghain, and she couldn't give him up! And she will be *pissed off* at Morrigan (and herself) if the OGB turns out to be some kind of monster.

Oh I think that's pretty safe.  King Alistair also disappears in many of the epilogues, so he could make a cameo that doesn't involve crowns.  Icognito perhaps.

I'm not counting any chickens on DA2.  All of this is marketing.  Show us the (trailers) money, Bioware.
