Loghain had heard the rumours and was puzzled by them. It wasn't as if there was any resemblance :

Eep!

Incidentally, that shirtless Nate pic - is that a body mod? Because his pecs look like Arnold's. That kind of chest size is not normal!

I'm a little terrifed of the "nipple in the armpit" thing that's going on....

Well, that can happen if the pecs get big enough...

LOL, that's like me and anyone too clueless to ask me to braid their hair. There's a reason why I don't braid my hair myself :pinched:

It is a mod. It's the Theseus Body for the human males and part of the Natural Bodies all in one package over at dragonagenexus.

To be honest, I'm not a HUGE fan of the male body mods out there. I mostly use it for the body mods for my elven woman (they look less like prepubescent boys with the mods). But unfortunately, the program makes it so that you have to use mods for all the races bodies. You can't pick and choose which races you want modded and which you want left to the game's default.  I guess I could download each of the different body mods out there separately and pick and choose which to install but bah! I'm lazy! :D

That's interesting you pointed that out because I never noticed that before. As CalJones pointed out, maybe the modder designed them to be that way because that's how they could look if the pecs are big enough?

Out of curiosity, I uninstalled all body mods and the "nipple in the armpit" thingy still exists in the default game.

Maybe the original game designers liked their nipples liked that? :P

They're not that wrong, actually... Obviously there's some variation between individuals but some guys do have nips in that position.

I haven't used any mods on my DA yet - I'm always concerned that I'll add something, then there will be another DLC or expansion and my game will get borked. It would be nice to make a human female with a more athletic body, smaller norks and well, y'know, no cameltoe. I hate that they did that with the female undies. It makes me feel really self conscious when my female wardens are in their knickers.

There's an awesome mod that changes the underwear that human females wear.  Maybe check it out? Improved Underwear It doesn't really fit the lore of the game but neither does the default "small clothes".

Isn't it strange that in the epilogue pic and in the trailer for Nate that they had him as a DW Rogue but game mechanics pretty much forced you to play him as an Archer Rogue?

I'm not sure what cameltoe refers to, but do I want to know?  LOL

I highly recommend checking out tmp7704's proportion fixes.  I also use the different unders from Pretty in Pink (which I have in black, actually).

Actually that's very easy. Go into your natural bodies folder in the override folder and delete all the folders that aren't named "Elf Female". You may also want to leave the "Human Female" folder as I believe one of the files works for both races.

Odd.
But probably BioWare thinking we'd re-spec him.

Dramatic license maybe?  The person who took the shots might have thought he looked better like that?  Or maybe they respec'd on their playthrough and just took the shots without thinking?  I'm inclined to think whoever did the shots and the trailer had no idea he was an archer by default.
I think he looks much deadlier with a bow myself but that's a personal weakness for archers Posted Image

Going to the epilogue - I wonder if I could erect a statue of Nate in my courtyard...I'm sure my landlord wouldn't mind!

Okay now I'm just being silly....

You not the only one. :D

Thanks, Zjarcal! I'll have to try that!

@A71C3:
To confirm, you do need to keep the Human Female folder too. Some of the textures from that folder are applied to female elfs too.

And to keep it on topic about Nate, by removing the Human Male folder from the Natural Bodies mod, Nate was significantly less happy...

I finally caved and bought Awakening (yay XBL sale!) and yeah... I'm smitten with Nate. I thought I was going to hate him at first, but he's one of my favorite new guys. (Plus it probably helps my Tabris is my main so there's no 'Howe killed my family' bias going for me, heh) It's the voice that got me, plus I love having my men look manly.

It's fun having Nate and my Warden firing off arrows at just about the same time. Love it.

Aw, thanks for the welcome!

I think what struck me about Nate is that he's a genuinely good guy who's stuck in a really rotten situation, what with his dad going nuts and all. The conversation when you first get to Blackmarsh and he talks about the stories and how he had 'silly boy dreams' about saving the town is what totally sold me on him. I've also been trying to get his personal approval up even higher so I can get his personal quest to see Delilah, but I think I've used up all of his gifts and I'm nearing the last half of the game. Boo-urns. =/

And he's adorably awkward in his conversations with Sigrun (another new favorite) too. =>

Seriously, as much as I like Alistair, I kinda prefer the no-nonsense but still somewhat approachable nature of Nate just a smidge more.

... Plus it's soul patch too that does it. Mmmmmmrow.

To get Nate's personal quest, all you have to do is approach the elf, GroundsKeeper Samuel, that's kneeling near the courtyard gates in Vigil's Keep.

I love Sigrun too.  It's such a bummer I can't bring her and Nate along at once since I love playing a rogue myself.

Haha, nothing to be embarrassed about that!

Strangely though, he doesn't seem very pleased in that picture (it may have to do with that smiley face's wacky teeth so close to the family jewels).

I did see the groundskeeper once before. Do I need to see Samuel a second time?

My City Elf is a rogue so it's a little precarious sometimes having 3 rogues in one party (I usually always take Anders along since he's my uber*mage this time through)  but since Sigrun specializes in dual weapons and is my beta*tank, it balances itself out in some strange way. Though I don't frequently use Nate and Sigrun in the same party for the main quests. Just for the side quests and Chantry/Merchants board ones.

I feel that Sigrun is a very versatile rogue. Her specialization seems to be meant to keep her alive for as long as possible (the talent that drains stamina instead of health for instance), so I find it hardly a problem to keep her and Nate along with a PC rogue.

Besides, rogues are my favorite class. The more the merrier! And I love the banters between Sigrun and Nate. Nate tries to be so sympathetic about Sigrun's past and she's all like, "aw, who cares, I'm already dead!".

Welcome :)

Once you've seen Samuel and told Nate you'll have a look for Delilah, all you should have to do is walk past her in Amaranthine.

She's down the bottom part where the merchants are.

It shouldn't be approval based I don't think - I do Nate and Anders' personal quests first thing when I start Awakenings.
