Although..I'd have had real problems if they'd made both Nate and Anders LI's. I think my head would have exploded ;-)
Edit - Imagine, if you will, a picture of Nate here. to fulfil my ToP obligations.

Because they look sort of similar and both make jokes? They really aren't THAT similar.I mean, it was pointed out that Anders is almost Alistair except with a ponytail, earring, and magic.

Alistair's my main squeeze in Origins and Anders doesn't do anything for me, so we agree there.Lady_Scarlett wrote...
My head wouldn't have exploded though if both Nate and Anders were LI's. Is it weird that I preferred Alistair in Origins (I wasn't happy my character couldn't get a dark guy besides Zev, which isn't exactly classifiable as dark and I just didn't care for him, but WTH) but didn't really care for Anders? I mean, it was pointed out that Anders is almost Alistair except with a ponytail, earring, and magic. The problem lies in: Why couldn't have made Nate a LI for Awakening? He is, legitimately, my favorite character in the DA universe right now and the type I have my characters usually go for.

Well the subject came up with someone saying Anders was basically Alistair with a ponytail, robes, and an earring and I pointed out how they aren't really much alike and then you posted the 'Look! They could be twins!' pictures so you can see where I thought you might be saying that.CalJones wrote...
Never said it was. When they first started showing the Anders trailers, though, I wondered if Anders was the bastard child Maric had with Fiona, but that rumour was quashed. Looking at him, though, it always seemed plausible.

Although why any of this is in the Nate thread is beyond me...

Hmm, yes, I don't blame her. What Lord Eddelbreck did to his hair was fantastic! Must be the new style that's in.

Sorry, I played some last night but the only shot I had was of Nathaniel watching as my PC picked herself up after being splattered by an ogre hurling a rock. At first I thought "oh, he looks concerned," then I thought... uh, you could give her a hand?! LOL I don't fault Nate for his programmers, though.Avilia wrote...

I do think I have a little story in mind, but whether I write it or not is another story. I'm kind of done with DA fanfiction, I think. But what I had in mind is that Tecla everntually leaves the Wardens and tries to go back to Dalish life, maybe bitter because she is set aside as commander after burning Amaranthine and as soon as a male human replacement shows up. Nate goes out to find her and bring her back. Probably someone's already done something similar, but anyway that's the RP postlude I have in mind for them. They end up stationed on the Orlesian border as part of a roving darkspawn patrol.
My guess is not well, to both questions. If I relate it to my own experience living overseas and returning to the US, everyone at first is happy to see you and you're happy to be seen. Then you realize you've changed and you have no place any longer, and don't really want the artificial places you could squeeze into. Which is why she would go with Nate when he shows up- also because he risked his life to find her. I'm such a romance sap.Avilia wrote...
Would be interesting to see how a Dalish warden would go if they went home. How would the experiences have changed them and how would their clan view them if they had a human LI?

I think it would be hard to write if for no other reason than the Awakening NPCs aren't as developed as, say, Alistair or Morrigan. So, harder to make sure you're IC. Then also, we could get a big retcon bomb from DA2.

LOL Well we'll see. I suck at writing romance for its own sake, if I do it it'll be all nerdy and Dalish so you might not like it.People probably mostly write Nate and Cous Cous, I imagine? Which has delicious tensions, of course.

Me likey elves.
Not too tall, not too short. Perfect height to make puppy dog eyes when they can't reach things and (possibly) have to go on their tip toes for a kiss from a human yet still still tall enough to not be in need of major neck craning (I'm playing my first dwarf that I'm going to force myself to play all the way through and I keep going, "Maker, your neck has to hurt by the end of the day looking up at all those humans all the time".)
Not including, Nathaniel just looks good with a elf. But just not the one with blonde Morrigan hair and the freak ears. OK, well her ears aren't that freaky (they're like my elf's I guess...), but my God those cheeks are utterly terror inducing:
