Not really Nate related, but your avatar is hilarious Avila.
So, to make this post Nate related, how do you guys feel about Nate wanting to support the Architect? Makes sense for him?
Sorry if it's already been discussed.

hehe ty - its Buntie's personality in one easy picture ;-)
Re Nate : I thought it was odd - like wanting to burn Amaranthine.
However, his personality is quite (bah can't think of the word I want, logical? No, um, practical. bah.) Practical will do for now but its not quite want I want. So even the chance of ending the blights seems worth the risk to him.
That's the thinking iirc. I could be wrong - its Friday night and my brain is gone (as evidenced by my lack of being able to think of the word I want).
Others will have better ideas I'm sure but that's my recollection.

Do you have any idea what approval level "not that fond of you" is?Sarah1281 wrote...
I believe the epilogue if he's not that fond of you (assuming he survives) is that he leaves the Wardens and a few years later his nephew joins the Wardens and restores honor to the Howe name.

It seems he's written to be a pragmatist, this and also supporting the burning of Amaranthine being examples of that. Awakening's weaknesses being what they are, they don't give you much basis on which to spare the Architect, so it feels out of the blue, but then I never really got the idea of Wardens cooperating with him so maybe that's my bias.Zjarcal wrote...

The way I see it is that the Vigil is the area's real military anchor and is also where the civil government is seated. You're told that the rural population in the arling is much larger than Amaranthine's. Amaranthine is likely already lost, and if the Vigil falls, too, the whole arling is screwed. But I agree, the epilogue slide is very harsh if you take this route.CalJones wrote...
I find it difficult to let Amaranthine burn. In fact, the way it's presented in game makes letting it burn seem more reasonable (Aiden says it's lost already) but the epilogue for saving it is much more favourable than the keep epilogue. (However, you also have men - and friends - at the keep, who will die, and if you return they are very grateful to see you. So I suppose you could let it go either way).
I'm iffy on the epilogue for sparing him. The darkspawn being quiet could just be the quiet before the real storm. I just can't trust him and it doesn't seem right to spare him, let alone cooperate with him.The Architect I'm 50/50 on. He actually seems very reasonable in game - his proposition seems sensible, and again, the epilogue is favourable if you spare him. The problem is if you relate that to what he proposes in The Calling. If he's changed his plan since then, it's not entirely a bad thing to let him live. The main problem is if he's lied to you - but that's knowledge you don't and can't have.

I decided for a change I'd recruit Velanna. I thought she'd be difficult to talk to and hostile. How wrong was I:
Nate's a little dubious about all this:
(They must have forgotten to fix Velanna's approval when they fixed Anders')

Velanna's not as bad as I'd feared, once you give her a few gifts and show her humans aren't so bad. (Well, I play humans, for the mostpart. I've done all origins once, but humans are the only ones I've repeated). But I'm going to kill her in my current game for the first time, just to see.
And yes, I've had Anders and Justice (eww) at Love. Can't get the others to Friendly, just warm. Meh.

The problem for me is that I can rarely justify giving gifts with my characters, unless they're plot gifts. What are Velanna's plot gifts? I remember an empty book that triggered a scene, though why would my characters give her that is something I'd really have to consider.
I once recruited Velanna with the logic that if her sister is hanging around with the Architect, Velanna could serve as a communication bridge. The one time I killed her I was playing a no-nonsense character, so when Velanna said, "would you please let me die with my brethren" (or something like that), my character said "gladly".

I don't have any trouble getting Velanna's approval high enough to get the journal prompt. You pick up a few elven trinkets that boost her, and she gives approval bump just for letting her become a Warden.

They didnt' fix Anders approval with the patch. My Orlesian is dealing with "Love" from both Anders AND Justice *Facepalms* who knew the Orlesian accent is so sexy? (If Isolde or Marjolaine is any indication) And why couldn't it be Nathaniel in love but nooooooo he's stuck at "warm" even though his approval is over 90 and I did his personal quest a while ago.
