Finished Awakenings again. I always feel a bit sad when its finished. I'm glad I finally recruited Velanna - she's not bad once she settles down. Lots more incidental dialogue with her too - new cut scene with her sister at Drakes Fall which was nice. Nate and her both unhappy with Buntie for killing the Architect. Oh well ;-)

Yeah, I had lots of frowny faces, too, as I mentioned.

Oh and just to show I don't mind admitting I'm a noob - I've probably finished 5 or so runs and this is the first time I've used the towers to help with the Mother fight.    Not because I'm that good, but because I'm always too lazy to try to figure out how it works.

Don't feel bad, I only figured this out on the last run too and still didn't use the towers.  I had enough AoE spells that it was overkill.

I hit tab to check for loot while I was standing in the first circle.  I went "Oh!  Hey!  That's how that works is it!"

Am I strange that I actually feel a bit sorry for the Mother?  Her VA is really good too - she does insane without being annoying about it.

Here's a tip - if you are in dire need of a laugh, put Nate's head on Alistair's body, then do the whole romance dialogue.  I almost fell off my chair laughing.  Those facial animations do not match Nate's face at all.  Not near enough eyebrow emoting going on

I started writing my Nate story today.  I was nervous to start getting inside his head, but... it's fun. 





I also was playing my male PC a bit, since I'll probably have him do Witch Hunt.  He was made pre-Awakening so the resemblance is accidental, but is it apparent why I like Howe so much?

Nope, for sure.  But someone was suggesting my mCousland could be a secret Howe, so it'd have to be Mom sleeping around.

How funny- when Delilah talks about her father trying to set her up with "that stuck-up Cousland boy" and you say "I didn't want to marry you either," Nate glares at Aedan for the longest time.  LOL  Unfortunately I didn't catch a shot of that.

That's great, very funny.   I wish I had the patience to run a HNM through to Awakenings just for that moment.  Oh well, I'll have to settle for imagining it.

Heh, I swear he came first and Nate came later.    I originally ran him through half of Origins as a S&S warrior before I realized I'd rather remove my eyeballs with a spoon than go through the Deep Roads with a pokey sword and board.  So I re-started him as a rogue.  Now that he's wielding Voice of Velvet along with his axe, he's insane.  Except Anders has Spell Fury and Nate is pretty high level too, so sometimes the bad guys are all dead before Aedan even gets there.

I need to remember to take some twin archery shots.  I've been trying to speed through Awakening and getting my priorities mixed up!

On the run I did with Valenna - I had the dead mob problem too. Valenna, Anders and Nate. Buntie was lucky if she got to taunt before the mobs died.

Yeah I have a mod that gives you no cooldown on fireballs and Velanna pretty much obliterates mobs with a hail of fire.  It's rather impressive.

First time getting the Silverite Mine bug.. have to backtrack.  Grrrr!  So annoying.

Wonder twins activate, power:  Rain of arrows!

I hate that bug. I've noticed though I can tell when its going to happen - the cut scene with Archie is black in the background instead of showing his lab.

Still have to get through the darned dialogue with Seranni while naked though...bit disconcerting.

Is that why Aedan had the golden drawers and everyone else had clothing?  I thought the Architect was just extra... thorough... in his examination.

Yep - if you're naked in the cell (or in your undies if you don't pack the naked mod) then I think that's the give away you're bugged. Buntie was my first one to get that bug. I just strip her gear and take her in naked. You wake up in the prison gear then and your stuff is in the chest near the Qunari (sorry if you know all that).

Can I also ask- what is the trick to the experimental subject room in the Architect's lab? Usually I just play with the levers a little and the door opens but I'm not getting it this time. Yes, I suck at puzzles.

Sure

Face forward (as in towards the gassy area) - left, right, left lever.  I usually click them as quickly as I can.  Not sure if you actually have to do that.

Last time I did it only took the three pulls to clear the gas - I don't think its random so fingers crossed that's right for you too

If not just keep clicking - always start with the left one though...

Edit - mmm randomized puzzles - the world is lucky I'm not a game developer ;-)

Thanks for the tip, I got it this time and thanks to the mod also got the gloves and boots.

Has anyone ever finished Oghren's personal quest?  Dude is at 71 approval and still won't talk to me about Felsi.  I'm thinking it's a lost cause.

I've never been able to get Oghren's quest. Buntie sent him away with Ali, me metagaming my annoyance with that bug. Did make the hall quieter
