[Nu-Nu]

Nate needs more love!!!
And I've finished my fanart, but my hand feels broken and they're so getting drawn in normal clothes next time.

EDIT - just adding a description of the picture - they were having a conversation and it got a bit too intense for her and she's confused.  She won't admit her feelings are more then friendship because of the past so she walks away but he stops her.

First, great job on the fanart posted so far. I'm squeeing thanks to you people. Same goes with the screenshots. Second, is there a fanfic writer taking notes here? There's a wealth of ideas thrown in. I would like to read about Fergus' reaction on Nathaniel/F!Cousland because my bet is, even if he acts civilly to him on other matters, Fergus would disapprove of this pairing. I'd say he would be more vocal about it than a dumped Alistair.

I also agree that in a potential romance with Nathaniel (please make it so, BioWare!), it would be better if F!Cousland is currently single. If she married Alistair out of love and not politics or ambition, why would she give in to Nate's charms unless the marriage is in the rocks for other reasons? I know my naiveness is showing, but throwing Alistair under the bus is cruel. That doesn't mean I'm avoiding fanfics with this kind of scenario. Sadly, the more I replay DAO, the less I'm liking Alistair because of the Landsmeet <_< I don't hate him though.

Now, if only I don't have the penchant for writing bad fics (not that I ever go far before scrapping), maybe I should contemplate further on that "F!Cousland goes into self-exile = disappearance in the epilogue" idea I had. I know it could be done without another LI intervening in the Alistair/F!Cousland romance.

I still think Fergie wouldn't be very pleased with the arrangement,but like I said,I think he'd definately at least be willing to be civil with Nate if he saves his life.
It's not like he's gonna openly accept a Howe after all that's happened and think to himself, 'Wow,he'd make a great brother-in-law!' but I'm sure that would at least establish a neutral ground of sorts between them.

One of the banns went all grr when he discovered his son had been tortured by Howe and said he was tempted to take his vengeance out on Thomas (Howe's other son), but decided not to when he learned Thomas had nothing to do with it.



Fergus might be wary, and understandably so, but it doesn't have to be bad blood. On the other hand, Fergus lost his wife and son as well as his parents, so he might go off his nut at the idea.

I think he'd come around to the idea eventually.Fergus is a nice guy,and sooner or later he'd see that Nate's a nice guy,too.Particularly since he's willing to kick bandit ass to save Fergus' life.He would still be wary,but I think that would be his big brother side kicking in.

I so hope both the warden and Nathaniel come back together, and Fergus!



And I totally forgot about Fergus in all of this. It'd be nice to see them have a chat about Cousland and that if Fergus had been in her place he would have killed Nate straight away. She never told Nate the gory details but Fergus will spill, and about how Nate's father said he'd totured their parents. This conversastion makes Nate realises how hard the decison she made was and triggers more angst. Makes him wonder if she could ever truly care for him and return his feelings.

I once tried to let him loose but the random encounter never triggered for me.I tried about 15 times going in between different places but he never showed up. A little sad because I actually wanted to hear him asking to join.

Alas,I had the same problem with my CE.But when I tried it again with my HN,it worked perfectly.I have no idea why.

The bit that gets me about the conversation in question is that when you accept Nate's request to become a Grey Warden he says "Nothing to fear."  or something along those lines and then pulls what is quite possibly the most unnerving smile ever.

If only his eyebrows didn't make him look like he was plotting something evil.  Or maybe, yes maybe, he's thinking unpure thoughts about the warden
