They tried. The Canadians fought them off in 1775, and again in 1812 (I know, US history classes still claim that the Americans won that war. Or "small theatre during the Napoleonic war", depending on your point of view).
Track record of CAN vs. USA 2:0, Maple Leaf leading.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Except it was the British Empire as a whole and not simply Canada. Having lost those colonies you can't say the British or therefore you Canadians won that whole Revolutionary War business. And during War of 1812 the regular American army back then simply wasn't up to par in terms of training to the British army. So that and disease beat us back and you got to burn down the White House before the militias and army got their act together and pretty much created a stalemate.
Keep bragging about it and sooner or later we might decide we want a rematch.

The U.S. did do stuff at the beginning. Who do you think supplied food and munitions to Britain and Russia during World War 2? Do you honestly think that while the Luftwaffe was bombing England, that they could repel a land invasion without U.S. support. And to be honest, the U.S. didn't do too much fighting, but what the U.S. did do was invade Italy. This forced Hitler to pull panzer divisions out of Russia/Eastern Europe. And yes, the Canadians helped, and the Australians helped as well. We didn't do much in the European Campaign. In the Pacific, the British were beaten out of Singapore. The Chinese tried to fight back, and U.S. pilots flew with them. The Australians helped. And the Russians helped just before the atomic bomb drops. The United States fought that war, pretty much by themselves though.
I have dual citizenship. I am a Spaniard, and an American. So lets bring Spain into it! We didn't do anything, Franco let the Luftwaffe practice bombing runs on cities with our cities.
You can also bring up the fact that the only reason England agreed to appease **** Germany in the beginning was because their Navy and Army wasn't ready, but they already began to fix that situation by that point.
Whom ever brought up the previous wars part listen to this. Any military historian would agree that one thing caused Americans to pull out of Vietnam. The media, it became an unpopular war through the news. They would also agree that the Tet Offensive was a last chance for the NVM. Korea was a victory, we split the country like it was intended. Communist north, democratic south. Iraq is a lot better, and Afghanistan is getting safer since Predator drones were allowed into Pakistani airspace. Look at every conflict in Central and South America, I see no problems there.
The world wouldn't spin if the U.S. wasn't in debt. Pretty soon you can buy Athens for $1.75USD on Ebay.com!

Johnny while you are right it was the Brititsh, you also forgot that Canada still had strong ties with the British, Canada did have a hand in it, but the war was mostly Britan and USA.

I'd hardly call it the British Empire as a whole considering Napoleon was rampaging through Europe at the time and was occupying the Empire. The war of 1812 would have been some British troops and alot of conscripts and natives helping.ReconTeam wrote...
