One thing I do thank Canada for is their actors and actresses. Most of them are really funny.

I don't... stop trying to come to Hollywood and take acting jobs away from American actors.

Indeed. Forget Mexico. We need a national law to stop Canadian immigrants.

Well its about time I go to bed too. But I'll say this.

Americans really need to learn that nukes mean nothing anymore. Russia has more nukes and can hit you as easily as you can hit them as does China. And as I'm sure you know a big Navy, Army, Air Force means nothing if there is nukes involved.

You no longer have the best economy. China owns that title, along with the USA's debt.

And finally as a country you don't have half as much respect as you think you have. Atleast among the educated people of the world who actually pay attention to current events.

I don't hate the USA. I love alot of the stuff that comes out of your country. I just wish you would quit thinking your the greatest country in the world and that everyone loves you, cause you aren't and they don't like you because of that attitude. Nobody likes the guy who walks into a room and says "I'm the greatest MOFO that ever lived!!!!"

You can detect a missle launch, you cannot detect guided nuclear ordinance from a B2 bomber. The U.S. has more nuclear weapons than Russia, they have more ICBMs. China's cannot hit the United States, even if they could do you think they would use them. I mean you said it yourself 'They own the US.' The U.S. does have respect, people just don't like the U.S. government. Iranians love America, the Iranian government doesn't.  Every patriot believes in his or hers country more than the others. You cannot sit there and honestly believe some Canadians do not think Cananda is top dog.

I dunno... saying:

Systems Alliance! Systems Alliance! Systems Alliance! (saying "SA" is too short)

Just isn't as catchy as:

USA! USA! USA!

That is why America always wins people. None of your Countries can have their idiotic masses chant the abbreviation of your Country like we can! Oh yeah!

(What's with all the hate against Canada eh? Do you not want Maple Syrup anymore? Is this some veiled attempt at discrediting Mark Meer? If it's that stupid arguement that Jennifer Hale is somehow a better VA then Mark Meer... Let me make this clear: Jennifer Hale is not your girlfriend fanboys. I know this may be shocking as you likely hear her voice in many other nerdy games like Metal Gear. It's okay there's always help out there.)

Also does anyone find it funny U.S. citizens refer to themselves only as Americans? Technically aren't Candians and Mexicans well... American as well? I mean heck even South Americans can call themselves American. I think the term Middle North Americans is a more appropriate reference for ourselves.

That's like Mexicans saying that we would miss burritos. I'm pretty sure we can make adequate reproductions. ;)

Canada has allies, you don't. Just try it.

The U.S. does have allies. Ever hear of that little country in the middle east that seems to kick its neighbor's asses? Or how about that huge country in South America? Maybe that Southern Peninsula that pokes out towards Japan? Oh, and the UK!
I don't want to seem bias, but Canada doesn't contribute nearly as much as the U.S. does to global trade. People side with those whom have power, resources, and money.

Do you really think the UK would side with USA over Canada? Think that over very carefuly and don't ley biasim take over.

Absolutley, Canada would have support from the world, but one look at the U.S. Nuclear Navy would send anyone packing including the Royal Navy. The fact that the U.S. controls over alf of the world's wealth is saying something. Not to mention 12 B2 bombers and the other stealth aircraft.

I think US military capabilities are less of a deterrent than they used to be, because the world knows that the US really can't afford in real dollars to fund ongoing conflict. The US is already way overstretched financially in Iraq and military posturing is just that from the US.
Further, the US doesn't want to engage in many forms of conflict because it really can't afford to do so and as someone has already said the Israeli front is very sensitive and if there are signs of weakness around US military strength (even due to funding) alot of Arab nations will take their chances at drawing the US into a conflict in the middle east it just can't afford... and that would be bad for everyone.

But, but... I like Busomjack in a good way!

It's sad this argument ended up in a "my daddy is stronger" reasoning, it had potential.

Enough of the Canada Vs. USA war, who will win?! It's a pipe dream. It will never happen. America's economy is in ruins, they don't have the money or the morale to fight another war, especially against a close trading partner and ally. Regardless of who sides with who it will likely leave the US in complete financial ruin.

The moment the Queen says lets go to war with the Americans is the day Scotland will have its independence, and Northern Ireland will rejoin with Ireland. The U.S. didn't back Israel when they beat the crap out of the Palestinians. We sent no troops or munitions during the war with Egypt and Syria. Look what happened there. Israel controls the Gollan Heights.

Chavez first has to deal with Colombia, Equador, and Bazil. Then it has to deal with U.S. strikes from Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Florida Keyes.

You do realize that the US gives Israel hundreds of millions of dollars a year.  Most of which goes to improving and developing their military.  Israel has been backed by the US from the start and the only reason Egypt, Jordan and Syria have left Israel alone for so long is because the US pays them too.

HEY! P.R. is an American Colony, and puertorrican soldiers are usually among the first on the frontline in combat, as well as the fact that more than half the nation is more inclined into becoming an american state...

I'm still waiting when this will turn into an argument about how the USA thinks western values are universal and trying to estabilish democracy in countries where it has no historical/cultural base, but I guess you guys love WW II way too much. :(

It's not that we loved World War II to much, it's that we are damned if we do, and damned if we don't. As the self proclaimed leaders for Democracy, and protectors of freedom, the world looks to us to resolve it's problems. Like it or not, it's a fact.

As an American, I totally agree with you. We shouldn't be imposing Western values upon other nations around the world that cleary want nothing to do with our way of life, or Democracy. Yet sadly we continue to try, even when it back fires in our face. Personally I think (and I supposed there might be a lot of Americans feel the same way) we should pull our troops out of EVERY country that we have them in, and cut off all foriegn aid as well, and fix our own problems, and mind our own buisness. However, that will never happen because the world won't allow it. If it did, the world would burn, it's a simple fact that America is the number one deterrence the keeps the majory of the world at peace.

And no, I'm not just saying that because I'm an American, I'm saying that because it's true, and I honestly wish it wasn't. I wish the world would go to other countires such as Canada, or whom ever for help. Maybe then we could get our own country back on track, and fix the major issues that we currently have, but they don't, they always come to the United States of America for help because Americans are the most generious people on the planet that give more than they are able to, including the lives of our sons, and daughters when it's deemed nesessary.

Wow... can someone please lock this thread, it's become a "OMGZ my country is better than yours cuz of stuff that happened in the past and urz **** rite now blah blah." We're better than this people, grow up. This is one of the problems in the world to begin with, we see ourselves only to which country we belong to, separating ourselves. Sure, it's a means to establishing an identity, but (and this sounds cheesy I know) think of yourselves as one big world nation. And please stop talking about the past, especially 'what if' situations, because we don't know for sure what would have happened.

I do agree with the above post by Vrax though, that America is involved (either intentionally or asked by other countries) to step in. And just like Vrax said, it's a shame that America feels obligated to step in, because it only ends up hurting America. They need to focus on making the US better before stepping into other countries problems, but the overarching fear is that if America doesn't step in, who will take their place? If no one takes their place, it might throw off world balance. If America doesn't step in, other countries will grill us for not helping. It really is a shame that the US is in this position, because eventually they are going to have to stop and take care of themselves first, but if that happens and the said issue isn't resolved by any other country, there could be a major world shift as a result.... not immediate of course, but it could get the ball rolling, especially if other countries become hostile towards neighboring countries because they know the US won't intervene.

So whoever said it, the US are like the Spectres, being sent to deal with problems. But I ask you, who will save the Spectres/US from their own problems?

Probably I think you have overstated the importance the US plays as a nation as peacemaker. Mostly American industrialist and industrialists the world over have a habitable and commonly agreed arrangement regarding trade and commerce and it is for this reason that the status quo is maintained.
You have over-emphasised American impartiality while talking up their benign lack of commercial interest... that's not specific to American interest, but it nevertheless is not realistic.
You'll be hard pressed to demonstrate how American commercial interests haven't played a role in conflicts they're involved in, so so-often the "the world need us" falls flat when spoken outside of fox news.
No empires last forever... so.. go easy on the rhetoric.

Jelauos? That is not the case in the game or in reality. But perhaps there is some of the negative and positive US stereotypes in the behaviour of the Human Alliance.

Makes sense to me. Plenty of people on these very forums even use some of the same arguments against the humans of Mass Effect that they'd use against the United States. Specifically, "They haven't been around long enough to know how to rule." If I had a nickel for every time I'd heard someone say that, "The United States is a young country and doesn't possess the collective wisdom of Europe..."

negative. europeans ass ****ed the native americans who founded this country eons before them. they were probably over here 10, 000bc. America is old just like every other nation of Pangea. Mr. Columbus wasn't even the first european settler in america as claimed, I believe America is actually named after another European explorer, Americanus (Italian) or something. America was a property (in pieces) of Europe/Mexico later established as it's own nation.
