I suspect that its TOR they're talking about for 2/2011 but I am still not sure.

That would be a very very bad move on Bioware's part, to promote TOR with a vague DA themed card included in Awakening.  If it's anything other then game content, the backlash by fans will be pretty massive.

But the lack of an announcement today at E3 means DA2 is pretty much out of the picture.   This is when you would push a sequel, at the last E3 before release.  And they hyped another Feb. 2011 game in the presser today, which just proves the point.

I guess I'm holding out hope that it's a major expansion, but that may be wishful thinking on my part.  The lack of any official discussion of future plans worries me as does the silence since the Darkspawn DLC hit.  The "two years of DLC content" promise has been forgotten at this point as well.

Just spent time at the EA conference, no mention of DA 2, ME 3,  but they did portray a CGI movie for TOR,  great battle scenes.    I suspect that its TOR they're talking about for 2/2011 but I am still not sure.

That card was clearly Dragon Age related, so I'm now swaying to it being the DVD release and not a game.

Yet from the EA quarterly reports, they've got an Untitled Dragon Age game scheduled to ship between January 1 and March 31 2011.....

Indeed they do, but the DVD is also scheduled to release in 2011. I, honestly, wouldn't be surprised if the untitled game was delayed.
Either way, there's a strong case against it being Dragon Age 2.

Could very well be the case. Bleh. Man oh man, if that 2/1/2011 card in Awakening turns out to be for the anime...

It wouldn't be the first time a company has pulled something like that, nor will it be the last time.

And what's the strong case? I'm not completely sold that the project in early 2011 is DA2, but at this point in time there seems to be more evidence that that's exactly what it is. EA loves pushing their money makers hard and a sequel in two years isn't exactly uncommon, matter a fact for an EA product it's quite long. If the 2011 project was another expansion you're talking about nearly 3 years between inital release and the next reasonable period to release the sequel and I just don't see EA sitting that long, especially considering how terrible they've done the past few years financially.

Ah okay thanks,  I get all my games digitally, so I never had the opportunity to see the card itself. :)

I watched the whole conference, except for where streaming was cut off due to buffering, but was there for the whole thing. It looks like EA is "most proud" of their Sports, Physical Fitness and Sims games, with the war games taking up the tail end. Thats how they presented. Ricciotello didn't even mention Bioware in passing, when he talked about some of their developpers. I don't know what to think about this. It kind of bothers me.

Yeah- I don't know what to make of that. BioWare is their AAA in house developer and the only thing we see from them was a CGI trailer for TOR, which is being co published by Lucasarts? Maybe DA or ME weren't ready for showtime, but just a simple announcement of what is to come or a basic reveal trailer would have made me super happy. Oh well

They reported that the release was for multiple gaming platforms. Unless they are really playing with the verbage of the statement and really meant the video players in said gaming platforms, it's going to be a game.

And it's strongly hinted that it's Dragon's Age 2 by using the Origins dragon and altering it so it has two wings instead of one.

Who knows why they are playing so coy with it at the moment?

If BioWare was going to do anything with ME or DA for E3, they would have done it today, I think. But what the hell do I know, right? EA's marketing of DA hasn't made much sense from the get go, so for all we know they'll reveal it on the last day of E3....

I don't think E3 has started yet (the floor demos), that was just the EA press conference.

Well first of all, they wouldn't remove the DA2 and ME3 titles from the EA floor plan if they wanted to announce those games, then the CEO says nothing about Bioware. I mean, look at Deadspace 2 and the coverage for that, just do a comparison. DLC wise, Darkspawn Chronicles only came out about a month ago. Just saying it doesn't look good.

No, just EA's press conference. The actual show itself starts the 15th and goes to the 17th. Thinking optimistically, we've still got 3 days where maybe we'll hear something DA related- maybe Greg and Ray get interviewed and reveal something that way.  Just probably no huge reveals or anything.

Not til Thursday the 17th, Lucy.

Again,  I just finished watching TWO videos where the lead writer for TOR is talking about bounty hunter and something else.

AS BOTH VIDEOS end,  he states he hopes to see us all online, in spring of 2011.    Now spring where I live is February through March, Aprilish.

It is POSSIBLE they are putting out more than one product, come spring of 2011,  but right now I am still confused about that card that folks got in their Awakening expansion retail box,   due to the fact that EA stated NOTHING at all in passing in regards to Bioware or Bioware's other projects.

*shakes her head*   Still don't know what to make of this at all.

yup I posted that a few pages back in this thread.    I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that "something" happens prior to the end of E3 on Thursday.    Will be watching every day.

Yes. At least a hint on the February date. Something, anything! Well, not anything.

ROFL!!  EPIC Community event :D   Which reminds me what happened to the "rest" of the celebrations of Bioware's birthday for this year.     I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that the rest of us that got left out of the "fun" would be included....but  nary a peep so far.   heh

>>but right now I am still confused about that card that folks got in their Awakening expansion retail box,<<

Keep in mind, though, that one of the DA developers did say that the date would be a great day for Dragon Age fans. (and stated that was all he could say) So it is fairly certain the reveal is DA related ... that said, I am not sure it won't be the release date of the dvd movie. And while that would be a little disappointing - in that I'd naturally rather have game content - I wouldn't be crushed; the movie may turn out to be fantastic.
