Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3 aren't talked about at the EA press conference so the assumption is that EA is forcing Bioware not to talk about those titles?

It's like Goodwin's law here, but instead of comparing people to ****s, it's blaming something on EA.

One of the co-founders of Bioware said they'd be revealing a game at E3 in January, and then a few weeks ago EA said there'd be no reveals.

Do you need it spelt out for you?

He said yes to reveals at E3 not revealing a game.

Reveals can also mean  revealing features of a game.
Which they have.

Ships, PvP, trailer, and a live demo of The Old Republic.

In the link you posted (http://exophase.com/...-2010-13654.htm) He talks about several games in development, some of which will be on the 360 and PS3.

It seems incredibly obtuse to talk about them, and then when asked if there'd be reveals, he says yes thinking of the MMO.

Did the interviewer ask specificly about revealing those titles?
No, he did not.

Did he the interviewer ask a general question about Bioware revealing something at E3?
Yes, he did.

You can stretch that comment to mean revealing a new game, but saying it only can mean revealing Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3, or an unnanounced title is taking the comment out of context.

I didn't mean DA2 or Mass Effect. I meant a new game in general.

Think about it. They spend the interview discussing possible new games and the like, and when he's asked if there'll be reveals at E3, Its pretty damn obvious the interviewer means games, and not features for the MMO.

And for that matter, if he did mean the rubbish for the MMO, why didn't he say something like "We'll be revealing some features for the Old republic."?

But he didn't  actually ask about new games at E3.

Also the Q&A wasn't about new games.
It only came up when asked about supporting the PS3 and  again when asked about the sequel to Jade Empire.

And for that matter, if he did mean the rubbish for the MMO, why
didn't he say something like "We'll be revealing some features for the
Old republic."?

Okay.

So why didn't he say "We'll be revealing some of those games for the Xbox and PS3"?

Because that down right gives it away. People know about the MMO, so saying they'd be showing some features would hardly be a spoiler.

And there is the unannounced project that keeps getting mentioned.

Could easily be across the consoles.

Maybe they'll reveal/present something in august at the gamescom. It's not like E3 is the only significant games convention once a year.

If we don't get any info now at E3 on DA, my bet would be something at Gamescom, August 18-22. Provided that the 2/1/2011 thing is a game they actually want to market, most big AAA games get started about 1 year before release and ramp up at least 6 months prior to release. If the February date isn't moving back, they've got about 7.5 months till then. If they start marketing full on at Gamescom thats about 5.5 months to  release.

If BioWare stays quiet about this whole thing going past August, then either EA marketing has totally lost it or its likely whatever teh February title is, is being delayed.

Okay I've spent so much time at E3 I have gained 8 achievements over there on my account lol. STILL the only thing I saw that showed Bioware in any way, shape or form was Ray's partner Greg introducing the CGI TOR movie "Hope". Other than that nada. I rewatched that today.

So I guess like others have stated, that perhaps the event in August is our next best bet.

Heh I even submitted a question to the Live Cam guy twice re: DA: II and ME 3, today, but couldn't get an answer even though he was wandering close by the EA booth. Evidently he had 8 thousand e-mails to read, plus Facebook correspondence, plus Amex e-mails (American Express was sponsoring the live cam walk-around) Oh well, at least I tried. :)

I actually hoped it wouldn't be, since it will probably be slapped together. Oh well.

THANKS!!  I'll check those out.   Can't be everywhere at once, and believe me I tried to be hehehe :D

Looks like that was a granted interview or two for that site, which means it wouldn't have been broadcast ..generally.

I was aware of the personal ships that were mentioned.   Also seems like some things will be like the old SWG,  for instance, I am not sure...but they state that you will "respawn outside a small medical centre".

In the old SWG, you would spawn or come back to life in a "cloner"  (for those that never played SWG).    Contacts by holocron for quests also sounds familiar.     Sounds like some basic things are being kept, but we are going to see a whole lot of new things too,  like new planets to explore etc.

Still haven't checked the other url, but will do that now.  :)

**EDIT  I really like this idea :

All classes have a "Revive" ability, a 5s cast time, 10m range, no cooldown ability which can be used on a player or companion. The tooltip did not indicate if the ability is restricted to out of combat use.  - end quote

This means of course, that you don't need the "Holy Trinity"  (still nice to have a medic or doctor nearby however).

Not seeing any mention of DA II or ME 3 in all this ...seems to be focussed on TOR only.

BTW:   Top ten most nominated games:

1. Star Wars: The Old Republic

15,832 nominations
[/list]TOR in the lead with Halo in second place I believe it is.

I'm so envious.

Off topic, but what did you think of the new motion control stuff from xbox / ps3? and the new nintendo 3ds?

RE:  Motion control....Well it looks like fun for say...exercising or perhaps learning I dunno,  kung fu moves, karate.   Personally can't see myself standing there ..with a game doing that, probably because I'm older and some of my working parts ..don't work that well due to arthritis :D

But its a good idea, nevertheless, and I am sure in the future that more could be done with it.   Right now it seems a little "gimmicky" to me,  but thats probably because its a new idea (at least to me anyways).  :)

I do love the idea of advancement, new technology.    Stuff that was written about in science fiction many many years ago, and now we're seeing the evidence of these things in every day life.   Fascinating,  who knows what they will come up with next. :)

Hey no problems, and if you get a chance, check out Rage.   Think they said it was the original creators of Wolfenstein that made Rage.  (but don't quote me, sometimes I mix things up when I view too many vids in a day)    All I remember them stating is, no more long endless corridors,  but the scenery was beautiful, and the gameplay looked like alot of fun. ;)

Oh and New Vegas, that bot on the road made me laugh. :D
