heh.. none of us are believing in the home team? Coach Parreira showed them Clint Eastwood's "Invictus" as motivation.

Goes without saying that we should not edit our posts once it's done and those posting as of 45' of the first game should not include the first game. (but, I'm about to edit this after many days: Since it's my first post after OP, I'll leave it here all my predictions since the first. Unaltered from originally posted as can be verified in the Group thread managed by Maviarab)

NP, Druss. Editing is ok as far as it's done fast after posting. I mean, why would someone cheat on this game, right? But editing the next day, after a few matches are played... well... it wouldn't work because I have all original posts! =)

New entrances, as off now, will not count on game 1. All games are numbered by FIFA and I listed them in the proper order.

How is it that I am the only one that believes the US will win against Eng?
Edit : And I lose the first match! :P

I hope they will win but realistically I think it will be a draw. With Rooney scoring for England and Dempsey for the US. And I just set myself up to look like a fool by giving such a specific prediction :pinched: lol.

I'm a little biased towards european teams, after all I'm german - so I just happen to know most european national teams way better. That said, if Rooney has a good day, it will be hard for any team to beat England.

Nah, my dad says that we have a strong chance of losing.  So you're not alone, I hope both of you are wrong however!:P

That said, if Rooney has a good day, it will be hard for any team to beat England.

ROFL...sorry, but if your German you should know he aint that good....And England are superb ON PAPER...we will do crap in reality, as we always do, and yes I will laugh the day we get knocked out...

Well, he is no Messi, sure. But he can win those one on one situations, and has that certain "intimidating" factor. If you don't want him, I'd certainly trade him, you can have both Klose and Gomez instead... Image IPB

Well, you know what they say about the English, right? So pessimistic that when they lose, they're glad that they were right! Funny that we, not English, have a little more faith in that team! Perhaps the Italian coach gets it right!

Rooney can be world class, he gets distracted too easily though. But on paper the rest of the team really doesnt look that good. I cant see where the whole "this is our best chance in years" thing is coming from.

Because the English media and players themselves thing were some sort of super Brazilian team Druss...when in fact we are barely average at best.

Friendly or not, we couldnt (even the great god that is rooney Merci) couldnt score against...who was it now...japan? They gifted the game to us lmao....

As for world class....never....he doesnt have the skills or the temperment to be world class.

@Rage, I just get cheesed off mate with us alwasy being a top seed, always being so close, always wasting money, always picking the SAME players who couldnt give a **** about the shirt or the badge (and yes, the 'Italian' said hem would pick players on merit, so why has he left out 2 of the top 3 English gola scorers from this/last season?).

Sooner we get knocked out, sooner we can actually realise how crap our team is, kick out players like Gerrard (been useless for 2 years now, needs to send his wife back to her gangasta pimp), Rooney ( as likely to punch you as he is to score) Lampard (rather be driving his car), Cole (rather be screwing around) and get players in who actually have some pride and want to wear the shirt.

I hate the guy, but I have to admit that Becks has been our best player for the last 10 years. Lets face it, we have never even WON the world cup, the travesty that was '66 is exactly what I called it, a travesty that should never have been allowed to stand as a result.

I agree with you I made a similar post on another thread about the english media. But if Ronaldo (a man who cant be trusted to actually play in any position because he wont stay up front when he is a striker and wont track back when played on the wings) is considered world class and one of the best players in the world then Rooney is world class too. Doesnt have the same skills but has a huge impact on most games. Believe me as a United fan I know Rooney isnt even our best player but if Ronaldo is being lauded as world class then so should Rooney.

Getting knocked out wont bring any realisation there will be a scapegoat found and blamed again. No one will point at Gerrard and ask "where exactly do you play? you wander from every position your put in and cant be trusted" they wont look at Terry and say "well you cant get away with handballs and hauling players down in the box at international level, what else do you offer?" or Rooney and say "wise the f**k up son!". All the blame will be landed at the feet of one person and the brave boys will go on to now battle for Euro 2012 and ease all those years of "hurt" quite how it hurts I dont know but apparently it does.

ity hurts cos they know they are hopeless lmao....

Seriously (I hate Man YUtd btw witha vengeance), We be better playig the Man Yoo team...in fact, sod that....play the damn Blackppol team, lreast their be some pride and passion on show for once.

Id be happy as an Englishman if we lost every game 5-0, as long as we showed some damn pride, commitment and passion, which with the exception of Becks (see previous post) has beeen missing for a long long long time....

lets get real for a momemt shall we....who in the world is shaking at the propect of facing the donkey that is Heskey? lmao....

I almost feel sorry for English fans when I look at your "captains" John Terry is a scumbag who I would pay to watch being hit by a bus, Gerrard is a self obsessed hypocritical **** and Rio Ferdinand it makes me actually feel sick when I see him captain United I cant imagine what its like to see him captain your country. People can hate Gary Neville all they want but atleast he was proud when he played for England and United. I would rather have a team of Nevilles (as scary as that sounds) than have your Terry's, Gerrards and Ferdinands.

Heskey will make his mark on this tournament, although it will most likely be on a defenders foot when he accidently stamps on him like the giant graceless clown he is. I struggle to think of many teams that would persist with a striker simply because he holds the ball up and wins headers. Even Kevin Davies scores the odd goal.

Official result game 1: South Africa 1x1 Mexico

Kimosabe0 has 5 points (2x2).
The rest of us lame football experts have zero! Hosting team never lost their initial matches in any World Cup ever! So I've heard.
