Btw, Rage, I agree with Druss... making the early predictions is much harder than taking a lucky guess on 1 match after following the teams for the entire tournament (where you effectively have 50% chance of being right). I understand you would want to keep things spiced, so how about you introduce a MINUS for wrong predictions to go along with the added points... You will have to do the math, but basically make it so that the leaders have to lose for the bottom people to catch up

We'll see how it goes. After all I'm the FIFA man of the pool and I can switch things.. shh.. don't tell anyone... but now, check with the bookies... which matches pay more?

If you had all those right calls on the groups.. how much $$ would you have made? If someone then got it right on the finals, while you didn't... could he win more in those final matches than you won with all the group matches?

(It's an honest question.I have absolutely no idea since bookies are illegal here and I never ever gambled on the illegal ones we have here for the alternative lottery - there is also an official lottery with 13 matches per round and calling them all right gives us .. the priiiiiiiize... used to be good money but now everyone one bet on the "sena" numbers lottery mostly.)

The money made on big matches is a different issue... this looked like an ongoing "tournament" inside the forum with ongoing scores and an ongoing and quite consistant few that fought it up at the top... and it seems unfair to let anyone who has 70 points get everything right and take home the "I winz" on a lucky day that others got it wrong.



JRC, Druss, Mavi and Kimo should have their participation and track record count as something for it, so reducing the points so that those who have 70 points cannot win even if they get everything right would be important. Then maybe introduce that minus along with bigger points, so that those who are in the middle (those over 200) could make a comeback...

I don't bet so I don't know about bookies lol. Although I do know that betting on the final is only worth it at group stage, when odds are still unsettled. At this stage any bet would be a 50-50 so not much of a gamble there.

I couldn't watch the match yesterday since I was away the entire day.
But it seems that Paul was right again:P, and of what I read here it was well deserved?

To bad we don't get our Netherlands - Germany finals:(, I was really looking forward to beat them.. But this is probably for the best, it doesn't matter who wins, someone will have their very first WC titile ever

And it looks like I should have made some bets, I could have made some big money here..

The bookies question is difficult to answer.

If your betting on individual games then the odds come from the 2 teams playing not what round they are in.

For example..
Spain versus The Netherlands in the groups would more or less be the same odds as Spain versus The Netherlands in the final. The only thing that would affect the odds would be how the teams are playing, not what round it is.

Infact you would probably make less in the final. Both teams will have relatively short odds because they are generally good teams. You would make more in the groups betting on underdogs. You would win more betting on Switzerland to beat Spain in the first game than you would betting on The Dutch to beat Spain in the final

Does that make sense? I know it makes sense to me because I already understood it but I'm not sure if I explained it very well.

Game 64 - 11/07 - Netherlands 2x0 Spain - Finally!!!!





BTW... Noir lost points, or rather were not granted them, in the semi finals because of changed format and order of the teams for that match. It's not my guessing. It's official FIFA's schedule.



If this had been in the proper order, it would win 30 points.

The german team had 21 matches against spain in its history. Spain has won 7, germany has won 8 and 6 matches ended in a tie. The last two matches were won by spain, the euro final in 2008 and this torunaments semifinal. Before that, the last spanish victory was in 1984.



But spain's current team seems unbeatable for the german players.

Because they kept thinking  "Arghh.. it's Spaniard!" ... while if they see them just as the Argentinians's dads, they would kill that team.

You can't win if you don't attack and Joca's team was so scared that they renounced attacking fopr the whole game until it was too late. Scared Barbarian Horde!
