American Football: armored badasses grabing the ball with hand, running to infinity goal (that has no roof) ... knocking each other (that is legal), and they may shoot the ball with their foot rarely!
and I'm going to see Bundesliga next season and also the matches of Arsenal and Inter Milan. I'm tired of these national teams

Ref had a nightmare but given the way both teams played it was never going to be easy for him. I think he didnt want to send anyone off because it was the world cup final and that didnt help. That game was an embarrassment for football.

I don't care if it's the world cup final. Rules are rules and should be applied as such. He could've set an example by sending De Jong off immediately - if you're going to play the game like this, I won't accept it. He was very inconsistent with fouls from both teams, and I think the players would be more careful if he wasn't this lenient. Punishing fouls and dives correctly, probably resulting in less men on the field, would do good for the game itself. It would show more football and less footkicking and competition diving. Now, he left us hanging by a thread by allowing Van Bommel (and others) to continue hacking and slashing, diving, waving imaginary cards and then decides to send off a defender who really didn't deserve the second yellow card (imo). But that's all 'maybe', 'could', 'would', 'what if'... Nothing we can do about it. The final was a great disappointment.

Germany should've won. And coming from a Dutch person, that really means something, lol.

Strange... they work fine for me ;)

Regular competition here starts 1st week in august, but this thursday Utrecht has to play for the Europa League against Tirana, so I'm probably gonna watch that.

What months does the Brazilian season run from Rage?

Manchester Uniteds first pre-season friendly is on Saturday morning at 1am in America. Im actually excited and planning to return from the bar in time to see it. Despite it being alot of our young players playing against MLS players. Its been too long since the season ended.

Spain didn't deserve to win this way. The ref was obviously killing the game with all his bad decisions. There were a few bad fouls from the Netherlands, but Spain did their part as well. The Spanish were spoiling the game with their whining, and acting like their legs broke, when they weren't even touched. There is a penalty for that: a yellow card.

The game wasn't that violent, the ref made it look that way by giving a card for every time a Dutch player even so much as looked on their opponnents. There were two instances where the Spanish could have gotten their red cards: The second time Robben broke free of the defense and the time van Persie broke free. Both times they were free of the defense and were fouled.

And the foul of de Jong? He was not aiming for his breast; he was trying to get the ball. Unfortunately that Spanish person got in the way. If you people think he should have had red for that, then at least be consequent! I want a red card for Martin Caceres (Uruguay) for the foul against Demy de Zeeuw in the match against Uruguay. He almost kicked his head off!!!

This is a very biased commentary. Holland was way more violent than La Fúria and man, you don't do a flying kick like that and go unpunished with a red card. It doesn't matter his intentions. It only matters what happened. Lots of penalty kicks and yellow cards are based on what happened, not on player's intentions and honestly, the ball was so far away that de Jong's intentions are not that clear either.

The crazy Japanese ref. of Holland vs Brazil was way worse than the Brit on the Final.  True, Spain was not that great of a team but Holland didn't deserve to win over Brazil either. First half of that match should be 2x0 at least, weith a clear penalty on Kaka and a red card to a crazy dutch who kicked Fabiano's leg intntionally. Spain x Brazil would be a much better match for the title.

We have States season from January to April. The Brazilian League then starts in May until early December. With Libertadores Cup and Copa do Brasil in the meanwhile  as well.

You do all realize that "soccer" is a term that was originally coined by the Brits?

Also, American Football doesn't need to make more time for advertisements. We already have a special referee that calls media time outs. S****est. Idea. Ever. But every game gets it's allotment of advertisement, specifically at the expense of continued gameplay. There's no need to to design the gameplay to allow that as well. Especially seeing as gameplay in American football has remained almost entirely unchanged since the game was made. Basketball is easily as fast paced and artistic as soccer. Also, rugby is actually also a form of football, and there's not a whole lot of foot contact with the ball. The three kinds of foot ball are Association football (soccer), Rugby football, and American football.

There you may have the biggest reason football doesnt succeed in america. You cant constantly stop it for advertisements.

Yeah, that is probably the single worst aspect of American football. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to see the university game here and had to sit for five minutes while that a**h*** in the red ref shirt stands on the field so the adverts can get their time on ESPN, and the players stand around waiting to play the game that they're there to play.

I watch the NHL on ESPN here and it can be a nightmare to watch with the constant breaks its really frustrating. The worst offender though while not actually being a sport is WWE wrestling, it would drive you mental the way they work it. Combined with the terrible quality entertainment on offer these days its amazing they are even still on the air.

Yeah but I'm not referring to the name only, well, that as well. Soccer is kind of short for Association Football isn't it? But the points on that video that are not so false, IMHO, are those that:

1- Describe how American "Football" is played with the HANDS and with something that is not really a BALL but more like an eggball.

2- Mentions that the only player who is allowed to actually kick the ball has to be brought in specially for that move.

Also, the ads break are not the main thing that makes American Gladia... err... Football boring. It's the fact that you have 2 minutes of action, when that much, then 10 minutes to get players in position for the next 2 minutes action.
Rinse and repeat.

Basketball is a whole different game and it is well loved all over the planet. It has moves that are absolutely astonishing. Whoever saw Michael Jordan playing during all his career has to be a basketball fan! I played it a lot myself until my 1,90m (6"23?) became too short for the game at the level I played when most kids on my position were already 1.97-2.10m. But I was a good player and I love that game! (those giant black guys in NYC YMCA were kinda surprised with a white Brazilian "shortie" who knew how to play the game... long ago when I stationed there for a Brazilian company. Guess they never knew who Oscar was).
