But if Ronaldo (a man who cant be trusted to actually play in any position because he wont stay up front when he is a striker and wont track back when played on the wings) is considered world class and one of the best players in the world then Rooney is world class too.

You know... when you say Ronaldo, there is only one guy that comes to my mind, the real one! Or even this whose name is Ronaldo too! Cristiano may be good but he'll never be a Ronaldo! Well, except for his second name!

I hope your not knocking the Neviller [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/surprised.png[/smilie]. Although the image of a team of Nevilles is bloody frightening I just see a bunch of small men with girly moustaches doing overly sexual celebrations infront of Liverpool fans.

Yeah he isnt a patch on the real Ronaldo if it wasnt for his knee injuries he would have been unstoppable. He was probably the best striker I've ever seen. I still remember the goal he scored for Barcelona when he ran from inside his own half and had defenders falling over and trailing behind him.

I had a pet hatred against Cristiano Ronaldo when he was playing for us and being called the best player in the world when he wasn't tracking back and kept indulging himself instead of playing for the team. Although I have more respect for in him how he conducted himself when he wanted to leave compared to how Carlos Tevez conducted himself.

New entrances will not consider the score Uruguay x France.

@Druss: Carlito was a great striker for my team, Corinthians, Brazilian champs in that year. Then he mysteriously left and re-appeared in England. Did he leave Man United already?

Ronaldo had a great season last year for Corinthians. Amazing goals at the State Finals. We're expecting him to be as fit as he can be at this point, after the WC, for the rest of this year's Brazilian championship.

Ah dont start me about him, I loved him once but now I hate him. He played great in his first season with us he was never really first choice he was more of a rotation player but he did well and the fans loved him. Then in his second season we had signed another striker too, Berbatov. So instead of staying with us he went to our rivals Manchester City who have a rich owner and are one of the richest teams in the world now.

He left because he wanted more money than he was worth to us and he was very bitter about it. Kept trying to turn the fans against the manager and making ridiculous statements, while trying to act like he was forced to leave when infact he left for more money. I wouldnt mind him if he would just admit he went for the money and stop acting like he was forced out. He leaves everywhere mysteriously, he seems to be looking for another transfer now.

Official result game 1: South Africa 1x1 Mexico
Official result game 2: Uruguay 0x0 France

Kimosabe0 has 5 points Game 1 (2x2).
Merci357 has 5 points Game 2 (1x1)
Maviarab has 5 points Game 2 (1x1)

More tomorrow... I'm off to bed cuz it's been a long long night! Aw, I miss '98 when we would go on battle-net country channels and challenge Brazil's opponents for Starcraft matches. At least in SC, it ended Brazil 5 x 2 France! =)

You know that I cried when Brasil lost in '98? I was in love with the team throughout 94 to 2002. Then not so anymore. Again this year. You cannot guess how sad I was when I discovered Brazil wouldn't play on Euro 96 (ehh, I was 5 years old! I didn't know Brazil wasn't Europe!)

Game 3 was an easy bet but I hate myself for betting on Argentina to win! Nigeria played so well, though. Now, Himura, you placed your scores after G4 (S.Korea X Greece) was finished and you got it wrong? LOL...  your bet for that game would not count but mate, really... where were you this morning?

Mav, nice score already... but "Kimosabe" also means "Kimo knows" in my language! =)

I meant club Mavia. People often produce strange international teams they follow for reasons they cant explain.

Luckily im in Northern Ireland so I dont know any Norwich jokes, most people here support Man United or Liverpool, with a few Chelsea, Arsenal, Leeds, Everton and Villa fans around too. Most of the guys I play football with are Liverpool fans so all my jokes and abuse tend to be aimed at them. Easy targets.

Not really. Pretty easy with a full official schedule, all guesses saved in a easy to ctrl-F doc and doing it one round at a time does not make all of us to get bored guessing all the group phase matches at once. The catch is that you guys have to check back here for the next rounds on the right date if you don't want to miss any match.

We use to have this kind of pool here in Brazil, among friends, but with some cash involved to make it more interesting. Nothing expensive or crazy like real gambling houses. Actually, gambling is not allowed here, except for goverment lotteries... thieves... heh
