Well it's true. She is a jerkass woobie and an example of defrosting the ice queen.....

Is anyone here familiar with Avatar: the Last Airbender? Her dad sort of reminds me of Ozai.

Somebody will just put it back up. I deleted Uncanny vally because I don't see it and it someone put it back <_<

I don't I always got a  Emma Frost type  vibe from Miranda. I don't think she is as extreme as say an Azula or Asuka though, they are very extreme examples.  Think the  Emma and Miranada compare really well as characters.  Asuka and Azula i would say would be better comparison for Jack because they are so outwardly hostile. Yet when they break you can't help but feel sympathy for them.

kraidy. Miranda does spend a good bit of time in the Ubcanny Valley. Get her in the wrong light and she's downright creepy. Her character trailer is especially bad. I'm not sure if the occasional eeireness is intentional--she's literally too perfect.

I can't say my first reaction to Miranda was the same as seeing Predator for the first time when I was little.

As for her trailer. I don't think she looked anything like she does in game. The cg trailer almost made her look Hispanic. In game she seemed more pale.

Okay, jtav's constant comments that Miranda should be with someone else because Shepard is totally worthless is finally starting to get to my poor Shepard, he's feeling insecure and scared. He's having a self-esteem crisis.

He just invited Kelly to dinner to ask her for a theraputic session so she could help him with his problem but instead she took advantage of him sexually and now he feels used and confused.

Also Miranda looks completely different in the trailer. There are these blondish streaks through her hair that aren't normally there too.

Come to think of it, I thought Sheploo and Jack looked completely different in their FFTL trailers as well.

Miranda looks better in the trailer IMO. And yeah, sheploo and jack looked really different to me too. Sheploo was like... not even close in his FFTL trailer!

I didn't say Shepard was worthless. I quite like Thane's romance, and I have no problem placing myself in Shepard's shoes there. I just have mixed to negative feelings about Miranda's romance content, and don't feel it's worth the effort to mentally rewrite it.

I just don't like the romance and have no interest in attempting to write it. I've tried writing it, and it's no fun. Miranda/Liara and Miranda/Thane are fun. Miranda/Shepard leads only to writer's block.

You and me both. I'm thinking of not replying any more to posts that come down to "I don't like the romance that much". Really - you only need look at your video, and the picture in the OP, to get a hint that Miranda's romance is the best there is. 

And the thought of Miranda with Thane creeps me out. Shepard and MIranda are my OTP for the Mass Effect story. Perhaps people should re-read some of the old stuff to remind themselves why they came here in the first place. These little things we've been discussing here amount to nothing IMO. For instance, you and I disagree about a certain thing she says, but I won't let that very small and more importantly, avoidable thing ruin MIranda or her romance.

I'm getting a bit annoyed at where this is going.

Finally, I'm close to snapping about this constant belittling of the Miranda romance. What is it? Does the enchantment of having fallen in love wear off? Are character flaws not acceptable any more? I recall having said, a few mongth ago, that Miranda could as well have been made for me. For me, that hasn't changed. I still stand behind everything I've written.

I like this scene, it shows their passion. I'm glad we don't have a boring scene like most of the other romances.

Maybe the scene isn't perfect, but the romance, it's not only this.

I love her romance, I love the dialog, but her scene was a joke IMHO.

Ah, and while I'm at it: yeah, the engine room scene also has flaws. But please, compare it to the other maleShep romances. Just the same as with the whole romance: see a little flaw, throw the whole thing away? What kind of attitude is that? Is only perfection acceptable all at once?

I used to post agreements with some of the criticisms. But if all that leads to is people making themselves dislike the whole scene, or even the whole romance, I won't do that any more.

I repeat: you (all who used to like her romance at least somewhat and now don't) make too much of little things. We have run out of things to discuss and now small things get overblown importance. Well, I won't be contaminated by this virus.
