Interesting bit of discussion in the Tali thread. How much does Miranda like aliens? She speaks approvingly of the STG (if she were more enthusiastic, I'd call her a fangirl) and seems almost contemptuous of those who join Cerberus out of simple xenophobia. She also talks about how much humanity can learn from the asari. Her understanding of human advancement seems to be "take the best ideas from every species and use them." I can see her having extremely close friends of other species. If we're willing to disregard biology and accept xenophilia as the fairly unremarkable thing that it seems to be in the ME universe, then yes I can see her getting romantically involved with one.

I don't know about seeing Miranda having extremely close friends of other spieces ( at least pre ME2 ) but I do agree that for a member of Cerebus she does seem to have a very open mind towards aliens. She's never really come off as anti other spieces, just pro human. Heck, she's more at home accepting of Shepard's alien crew than Jacob is ( and he was supposed to be the 'good one' ).

Could I see her getting romantically involved with an alien. Maybe not before the events of ME2 but definetly afterwards. She seems open minded enough to concider it, to fall for someone because of who they are instead of where they come from or what they look like. If I did not concider Miranda and Shepard to be a perfect match then I could see her fall for someone like Thane.

I know, one of the things I didn't like about ME2's companion relationship outcomes is you never have a Wrex style situation. Everyone just bow's to Sheps will. Would have been cool to see a hardline Miri try to stop you from blowing up the base forcing you to kill her or talk her down. Or even having a psychotic Jack try to off Miri during the end run mission.

Ah, such a great idea. Having some Wrex-like situations in ME2 would be amazing and would really help to flesh out the characters instead of having them blindly follow Shepard's every command. I also wish that your Paragon and Renegade bar wasn't a "swiss army knife" solution for every social dilemma. It makes a lot of the decisions that are supposed to be hard very trivial...the fight between Jack and Miranda and Legion and Tali. I think that as a player we should have to choose one over the other and have the relationships develop in different ways because of that. As it is now we can "have our cake and eat it" and, to me, it makes those particular encounters have less impact.

However quite a few people here think Miri's flip flop in the Collector base is OOC for her. Personally I would have thought if you didn't make her loyal and ignored or harrassed her for the mission she would have followed TIM's orders. She would have the resign speech if you helped her out. ^_^

Disregarding the OOC discussion for a moment, I appreciate that she still resigns even if you haven't gained her loyalty. It shows her morals go deeper than simply having Shepard convince her otherwise.

Returning to the OOC nature of it, Miranda is by far the most difficult character for me to understand because everything she has said about Cerberus implies she accepts the ruthless decisions that must be made for pragmatic reasons. The only way I can explain it is what I've already said: seeing it first hand is a huge wakeup call. And it's a character development you will only see if you bring Miranda along to the final fight. Having her accept it without hearing the reason would cause anyone to scratch their heads.

For my own Shepard, Miranda would never be someone he'd accept on his team willingly because of that connection to Cerberus. But sometimes being forced to work with someone you expect to hate then makes you realize the personality has much more depth than your assumptions. Miranda's personality reminds me somewhat of people I have worked with before, and I go in with a prejudice that we will never get along only to discover there is a common ground between us. This is why I give people the benefit of the doubt more often than not. Been burned by that mentality a few times, but its a benefit outweighs the cost type of thing.

Was that rendered in something or from Garry's Mod?

Should we break it to MA that I don't ship Shepard/Miranda but now ship Miranda/Thane and Miranda/Liara instead?

I would have liked for all the options to be present, but the "level requirements" be hidden so you may get the Blue upper left but it might not work or only work partially depending on how persuasive or high your paragon meter was.  Also think they should have instead of haing it solely linked to your para/rene score yo ualso had a "persaution skill" tha twhen added to your meters effected how well your talking does to intimaidate or convince.

But that's how the game works, it's way easier to save Wrex than kill him, you don't even need Charm or Intimidate too convince him, but at least they gave you the option. Same with the confrontations, it should be easy to gain their loyalty, but one wrong move and you get a cut scene of Grunt fighting Garrus and you have to shoot one down.
And Jack may be crazy, but enacting your personal revenge on a suicide mission on a collector base is mad! :P

I gather that alot of people who don't like Miranda feel this way as well. I guess it is a perspective thing. For me ( and I guess alot of Miranda fans ) I kind of see Miranda as being somewhat naive as to what Cerebus really is and what they really do. She's never really taken part in any of Cerebus' truly shady stuff and as such she isn't really aware of just how rotten the organisiation really is. She's heard the rumours of course but she's kind of in denial since these were the same people who took her in, gave her a home and a purpose. Over the course of ME2 however she slowly begins to see the other side of Cerebus and eventually she can longer lie to herself any longer.

Eh, I'm not sure...it has been some time since I've longingly stared into them. :P

Oh, btw, do you have a link to your work with the ripped models from the game? I'm very interested to see how far along you got because I've been gone for a while.

Well Raizo, she's heard more then rumors, she has read the full reports. When Shep asks her about them she has details If I remember right. She also give you "justifications" for each one. Until the end run scene she may have been wavering but she was still in TIM's camp for the most part. Jacob joined up pure for the Lazerus team and clearly says he doesn't like what they did in the past but helping Shepard is the best thing for the galaxy. So he's not under any of the illusions Miri is about Cerberus.

I like the Al-Jilani one....she hides in a quarian suit to gain an exclusive interview with Shepard? lol

I don't have anything archived (I have a terrible habit of deleting "outdated" renders from my computer).

I do have this for the time being though :wizard:
