I'm 99.% certain Miranda will return for ME3. I'm skeptical as to whether she'll be recruitable. There are good arguments either way.

I think she will be recruitable, but now I just want to hear she will return.

Odds are, Strahovski's signed a non-disclosure agreement regarding ME3. I am nearly certain someone else will be functioning as the female lead poster girl, so she won't get the same attention she got last time.

well maybe we get a poster man? Like Adam Baldwins character. Would be a surprise so.

Wondering if someone could shine some light on this for me. How can Miranda be relatively OK with some of the more "hardcore" Cerberus experiments (husks) when the stuff Cerberus does is comparable to what her father tried to do in order to secure his legacy (not exactly the same, but of equal magnitude)? Or am I just thinking too hard about this?

I think because her father was only interested in himself whereas Cerberus is supposed to be about all of Humanity.

Quite likely. I recall sometime during ME 2's marketing campaign Seth Green was asked on his website if he would be returning in ME 2, and he said he hadn't been contacted. If I remember correctly, Keith David said the same thing in a CoD: MW2 interview.

This. I had nothing against the emphasis on recruitment in Mass Effect 1, but, having done that, we shouldn't spend a lot of Mass Effect 3 doing it again. And if Miranda doesn't play a large role I for one will be very disapointed.

Also, Miranda seems under the husks were already dead. She's either lying or a bit fuzzy about how they're made. I go with option 2 because assenting to the experiment would make her a Complete Monster.

In addition to what Pacifien said, I think Miranda still really sees herself as a tool to be used.

Because of that, she sees everyone around her as the same. We tend to treat others as we are treated. See the control chip comment.

If the team stays the same for ME3 I don´t see why Miranda would be replaced by another "cover girl" that´s taking her role.. She´s the best for the job, after all.
And I hope it does stay the same... I can only imagine that Samara and the DLC characters won´t be around and are going to be replaced by Ash/Kaiden and Liara.

Wow. I especially like the third pic. That's from the "promise me you won't die" convo right? Second favorite moment in the romance.

Interesting bit of discussion in the Tali thread. How much does Miranda like aliens? She speaks approvingly of the STG (if she were more enthusiastic, I'd call her a fangirl) and seems almost contemptuous of those who join Cerberus out of simple xenophobia. She also talks about how much humanity can learn from the asari. Her understanding of human advancement seems to be "take the best ideas from every species and use them." I can see her having extremely close friends of other species.

I agree so far....

If we're willing to disregard biology and accept xenophilia as the fairly unremarkable thing that it seems to be in the ME universe, then yes I can see her getting romantically involved with one.

...and disagree passionately with this. Because I am unwilling to disregard biology to such a degree. But you knew that. Things like that are most definitely alternate universe territory. I never want to see in the games. Bad enough that the ME universes features interspecies romance at all.... OK, enough about that.

I know, one of the things I didn't like about ME2's companion relationship outcomes is you never have a Wrex style situation. Everyone just bow's to Sheps will. Would have been cool to see a hardline Miri try to stop you from blowing up the base forcing you to kill her or talk her down. Or even having a psychotic Jack try to off Miri during the end run mission.

Yes, I would have liked that very much. A hardline Miranda would have been so much more believable than the OOC statement we get. You should have to convince her that destroying the base is the better option if you play your Shepard that way, not the other way round. And no loyalty should have meant you have to kill her.

My havorite moment is right at the beginning when she touches his chest and you can just tell she wants the relationship so badly but is terrified of getting hurt. Poor girl.

I was really hoping she would turn the gun on you if you wanted to keep the base, if she is not loyal you kill her. (kina like Wrex but you can't use charm or intimanate this time) and if she was in a romance with you, you have extra dialog. I really wanted it, too bad we get OOC.

@ Yannkee: I also think that the "promise" scene is one of the best. Can't promise her anything if you want a hug ;p

@ Ieldra: I have to agree with you. I also dislike interspecies romance, I just don't see a future in that kind of romantic involvement.

Iedra and I are going to argue about interspecies romance forever, aren't we? My attitude is that it's already canon, so who am I to complain or worry about it overmuch when writing? The game is full of complete nonsense anyway. It's a bit like complaining about ER's lack of medical accuracy.

No need to resist. I like it.

BTW, quite a lot of new posts in the few hours I was absent, and we've all left the warpath. Great. Good night. Ah, I noticed some replies. My replies have to wait for 10 hours.....
