How is she rolling over? Tali's actually the LEAST "rolling over." Her romance is the most conditional.Kronner wrote...

ehm, Tali? She basically acts like 16 year old teenage girl going after older guy with a nice car.

Oh, boy. This'll be fun.
Tali doesn't roll over. My last Shep all but got inti a shouting match with her during her romance. She's easily flustered, not spineless.
I heard all her dialogue. Once. That was enough for me. Too much sugar (dashing commander, I wish shepard was here? I mean wtf).
I killed her in all my subsequent playthroughs on purpose.

Not really. It's just more noticeable with her because of her initial demeanor. Amd I sort of like her initial demeanor.
Ah good. Just curious because the older Bioware romances had a little bit of this going. Anomen and Carth all but pledge their souls to you.
I thought in Dragon Age and Mass Effect they had done a much better job and making them more resemble real relationships and you have played through alot more of them than I have.

ME2 was better about this (about conditional romances) than ME1, but DA:O definitely takes the cake.I thought in Dragon Age and Mass Effect they had done a much better job and making them more resemble real relationships and you have played through alot more of them than I have.

Tali is a good friend but not only the fact that having physical relations might just kill her but there is also an age difference I do not find appealing but alot of people don't mind that so much. I have always preferred people my own age.

To think that I played through KotOR twice with a female character without even noticing that Carth was available for a romance. I didn't hate him like some others, but it just didn't occur to me to attempt a romance, and somehow I took a wrong turn in a conversation and never noticed....Valmy wrote...

Dont know about you, but I've put a few hundred hours into DAO, and two characters are still waiting. It's romances are my favorites, with ME2 second. Except for the love scenes which were better in ME1.I thought in Dragon Age and Mass Effect they had done a much better job and making them more resemble real relationships and you have played through alot more of them than I have.

Conditional on what? Getting her loyalty? All romances are that. And all have a few ways to break it up if that's what you mean.Collider wrote...

And, well, yes, she does act a bit like that. Perhaps she can be excused for worshiping a larger-than-life hero, but her first romance conversation puts me off somewhat. Miranda is more hesitant, knowing exactly what she's getting into.

I know Carth's trust issues didn't exactly compel me to talk to him (conversely though, I thought Mirandas coldness pre Normandy was interesting). To think that I played through KotOR twice with a female character without even noticing that Carth was available for a romance. Tali has the most ways of the romance not starting or being terminated (and by that i don't mean Shep himself breaking up with her)

I don't believe she is hero worshiping Shepard - and if she is, so is Miranda. Tali is also hesitant in her romance.

I don't think she's a pushover in anything else, but listen to the "what could I possibly be suggesting" conversation and tell me again there isn't a significant dose of hero worship in her attitude. Not that I blame her, it's just not what I prefer.Collider wrote...

And Talis is hesitant for practical reasons, while Miranda isn't sure she wants it in the first place, not until the "promise" scene.

Not hero worship. It's flirting. Miranda actually makes far more mentions about Shepard being a hero.Ieldra2 wrote...

Like Miranda, Tali is also concerned about the effect the romance could have on the mission.

Miranda also mentions and admires Shepard's accomplishments much more frequently and severely, even being jealous.
But neither of them fit this description.

In combat she's incredibly useful, particularly if you're a soldier (my favorite class) and she's definitely got some heavy feminine charm going for her. But at the start of ME2 she comes of so ****y and domineering she's almost begging for a bullet in the head considering Shepard's history with Cerberus to the extent that on my first playthrough I figured I was probably going to have to off her by the end of the game (Cerberus can kiss my ass). As soon as you get the Normandy she becomes a hell of alot more charming though and she just continues to grow more and more likeable the further you progess.
My favorite lines from Miranda happen to be some of her easier to miss lines particularly the dialogue I highlighted above and the telling off she gives to the Illusive Man if you bring her along for the final battle and insist on blowing up the station.
I agree with implodinggoat...Miranda was a total **** the first time you met her. I'm a big Miranda fan and even I can't stand her at the start of the game. But once you board the Normandy her attitude changes and she becomes more cooperative...instead of always putting down Shepard. That's when I begin to like her. Without Shepard the galxay is pretty much doomed. I play the game as if I were actually in it, being Shepard and making those choices. (Probably the reason why I'm a pure paragon player) If there was someone who is really b%$^*y then yeah I wouldn't like them either.

Clearly, I am strange. I like that she initially cold toward Shepard. I wish she had a few more conversations before she warmed up to make the player feel like they had earned her trust and respect.
She didn't really act cold towards Shep but more like a person who had a bad attitude in my opinion. If you hit the dialogue option "I'm confident" or something she says well "I hope your confidene isn't misplaced", "we lost a lot of people at the facility I hope it was worth it". It could be the fact that as soon as Shep is revived TIM puts him in charge of everything (she mentions this quite often). She acts cold towards Wilson (if you listen to those Cerberus entries). I think Bioware sets a certain amount dialogue. But yeah I agree I wish there was TWICE AS MUCH DIALOGUE. Garrus and Tali hardly had any dialogue. And Garrus is my favorite character in ME1.

I agree actually. Wilsom made it sound like she was a total ice queen but she was giving you compliments on how well the mission was going very early on.
