Ieldra, I'll tweak the final draft to address your issue. I'm one of those "religious types" so I was wprried Miranda would come off as a straw atheist. Rough draft of the first chapter is almost done. Truth be told, this kind of thing interests me far more than straight romance.

I thought I'd post a link to a fanfic I'm working on, as Miranda has most of the focus at this point. As I've mentioned before in my brief forays into this thread, Miranda isn't really my strong suit when it comes into diving into a character's mindset. Not entirely happy with how I've written her so far. Her biggest role will be on Hermes Station, should I keep writing the fic. Just thought I'd ask for opinions. Sorry to say that, in this story, the love interest is Jack. But I really want to demonstrate that Shepard and Miranda, though still at odds about Cerberus, have evolved into a good working relationship.

Sorry, I don't like fanfic, and a fanfic involving Jack as LI even less.

But I'm sure some people here will appreciate, and will read your fanfic.

Well, I didn't post it with absolute demands that everyone in this thread read it.

Oddly enough, I'm not even a fan of fanfic. I think it's just an artifact of being surrounded by fanfic writers that have corrupted me. No fanfic survives the canon of the source material anyway.

She did come across rather convincing - she didn't address the issue before Mordin brought it up, and kept her mental commentary short. I'd drop the fire metaphor, though - that goes without saying and doesn't deserve the mention.

And I agree that dealing with the philosophical and social implications of Shepard's coming back from the dead is far more interesting than romance. IMO, romance adds spice to any story that's already good, but romance as the main plot isn't so interesting.

Recently I did a playthrough where I talked to every squadmate after every mission, no matter how small. Zaeed have some comments on various loyalty missions, but Miranda's isn't one of them. Guess a simple family rescue bores him.

He seems like a guy who has problems with women who are in charge, at least for me. Maybe he just didn't have anything positive to say.

I only know Zaeed from reading about him, but he sounds like someone Miranda would want to punch on a regular basis, except she has more self-control.

Nah, he's been paid to do a job, and so long as he does it, Miranda probably sees no reason to punch him.

Not sure what she'd think if she met him outside of the mission, though. She's probably had to work with several thuggish types in the past in order to work as an information broker of sorts.

I think Miranda doesn't want people in the team like Jack or Zaeed, they are too unstable.
I'm pretty sure she would have let him burn after his loyalty mission. And I'm starting to think I will probably do the same in my current playthrough.

Just paid a visit to the storyline forum. I never cease to be amazed at the number of things that are dismissed with "it's just a video game." I can't help myself. I get annoyed when the world or the plot doesn't make sense.

Jack is unstable, but Zaeed is predictable. His loyalty only goes as far as your credits.

Talk to some of those posters in the storyline forum about plot, I'd start saying "it's just a video game" too in the vain attempt to make it all stop.

Most of my Shepards are in complete accord with Miranda there

Zaeed, predictable ? His attitude during his loyalty mission doesn't seem very predictable.
It's not his loyalty which bother me.

That's the main reason I rarely participate in discussions about worldbuilding and story consistency any more. I regularly make new worlds myself for my PnP roleplaying games, and it annoys me that the Bioware people can't do for money  as I can do just for fun. You can't argue with design decisions, but the unnecessary inconsistencies annoy me.

Glad to see I'm not the only one... Never even remotely delved into reading fanfic, let alone writing any, until ME2 came along.

                    I don't think Miranda cares  much about Zaeed...and u Miranda fans dislike Jack because she picks on Miranda.......i like them both...i honestly hope they won't get to violence in ME3 but keep Jack's comments on Miranda...both chars are win for me....

Nah I hated Jack way before she started fighting with Miri. I don't like gals who swear like sailors and look like psychos. When she started to toss chairs at Miri, her fate was sealed. I still have this smirk creeping up to my face, when I remember the scene that came after Joker's ''All survivors are on board, we're just waiting for you''.
