No she just accepts to do what Shepard tell her to do. This is not follow orders, because if Shepard is not here she wouldn't do it.
Orders must be followed even if you don't like the one who give the orders. She's against Miranda leadership during the briefing of the suicide mission, this should not happen.

              Jack was recruited for a certain mission...she was not recruited to be soldier girl ready to followe everyone....and SHepard is in control of the operation in Jack's eyes..so it makes perfect sense to only follow him...u think Miranda follows SHepard in the beginning ?no..she follows the Illusive Man who told her to do what SHepard tells her too...as long as it is in Cerberus needs.....if i was in Jack's position i wouldn't trust Miranda either...but i would sort of trust the one who got me out of the prison...in this case Shepard

No, Miranda follows Shepard's orders, and she reports to TIM.
A military operation can't be controlled by only one man, that's why there is a hierarchy. If Jack doesn't accept it, she should leave.

              and why is this a military operation ?seems more like a rescue operation that then turns into an extermination one....a military operation with just two soldiers seems destined to fail..

Not really. Shepard is above any code or law anyway. Shepard did what was right in his eyes ( and in the eyes of general public, at least on my playthroughs ), Jack just did what she did because she didn't like Miranda nor Cerberus.  No matter how important the task or order would've been in larger scale.

Yeah, I am in the military for now. Doing my military service, which is due to end in 346 days.

Still trying to decide how to treat her in my Paragon Talimancer game. I just know she and Shepard would get on each other's nerves, but the dialogue won't let me reflect that.

Jtav, I helped her out, tried to pry her out of TIMS pocket. Bring her into the fold. Ended up picking the concerned and Neutral options most of the time. and Gently guiding her away from a romance. However Depends on your Shep as always

No, but that doesn't mean they didn't talk at all after she was recruited. I imagine she would try to at least learn more about the people she'll be working with on the field, or keep an eye on people that might try something against Cerberus while on ship (like Jack). Unless you just want to write what has already been established. If so, no they haven't talked beyond Freedom's Progress to our knowledge.

For your story I mean.

As for how to treat Miranda in your game without romance, well, I treated her like a sister. I hated her, but respected her, and did my best to help her out. When she starts talking about the "Best Gens", I just choose to leave, or hit the middle option.

There's a greyish tint to everything in the prologue. Shepard always looks somewhat washed-out here compared to the rest of the game.

I agree. I usually defuse the conflict, but I have no problem at all siding with Miranda. JacK's supposed to leave her problems with Cerberus behind after the loyalty mission, at least until the mission's done.

She rolls her eyes and hopes he doesn't get killed before he stops the Reapers. I don't get the impression that she's exactly pining for Shep or anything. She may even be relieved he isn't interested in her because she doesn't want the temptation he presents. Because she only shows interest if you do, it's easy for me to pretend that a Shepard who doesn't romance her isn't even her type.

I think Miranda may have feelings for Shepard, of the kind "there could be something if things were different. Maybe." Nothing serious. The "rolling eyes" response to a Shepard who romanced Jack seems perfectly adequate.  As for Shepard getting killed, you never know - Jack is volatile, you never know what might trigger a killing spree.

I do prefer her romance, but I like that their relationship is interesting without it. It also makes the romance more meaningful.
