She does say something like,” I doubt anyone has ever asked his opinion on anything." Does Samara talk about Miranda? When is that? I generally avoid talking to the opposite (shepard) gender because I don’t want to accidentally flirt with them, therefore I miss a lot in the game.

There's no problem. With everyone but the three LIs, you won't start a flirt accidentally. It's funny, really: while you almost stumble into a relationship with any eligible LI by accident, you can ask Samara about romance, but it's very much apparent if you do, and easily avoided. I wonder why Bioware made it that way.

because they (and samara) make it abundantly clear she's not romanceable - by design.

No? I thought it's immediately apparent. The only difference is that Grunt was force-grown and his mind implanted with artificial memories. Since the technology seems available in 2187, I wonder if Miranda's father will try that next, after his genetically engineered, but naturally-grown daughters didn't perform to his satisfaction.

And, while I'm at it, I do wonder what he did expect from his daughters - if they were meant to inherit his business empire, he shouldn't have expected them to not have thoughts of their own. Heh - the eternal problem of the competent successor: the ones who are competent and ambitious enough for the job inevitably become rivals or enemies far too soon for comfort.

not artifical memories - merely subconscious learning, no different to what can be done today (listening tapes whilst you sleep/hypnosis etc) which is why it doesn't always work, and holds no real emotive meaning for grunt - the hatreds okeer felt were empty because emotions can't be "taught". it is also explained as learning by a "voice" in his head, then teaching by way of pictography ("holding up cards") - no different from how you start to learn in primary school, really.

the last paragraph i agree with completely - the problem with trying to have a successor who is "perfect" is that the perfect specimen will try and replace you pretty damn quickly (if they don't go their own way).

I'd also like to see a kind of mother-daughter relationship between Miranda and Samara. Samara speaks approvingly of Miranda as someone who bears her own burdens. Miranda never had a mother, and Samara has had to kill or institutionalize her daughters. Maybe they could help each other?

On the other side, if Miranda were asari, Samara would probably have to kill her, for she almost certainly has done things the Justicar Code would see punished. They have a few things in common, and I would like to see a deeper relationship, but it would be a difficult one.

Oh, almost certainly. I imagine her attitude would be something like "please don't do anything that would require me to act, or at least make sure I never find out." I imagine the same would go for any crew member she actually liked. Honestly, Samara scares me a bit. I call myself a deontologist, but I care intensely about motivation and circumstance. The Code says nothing about any of that. Brr.

Completed my game. Miranda resigned as usual for my romance games. I've always wondered why she says "Or what? You'll replace me next?" It seems like odd phrasing given the cicumstances and makes me wonder if there's some history we don't know. Has Miranda replaced other Cerberus operatives in the past that weren't getting the job done, possibly killing them as well. Either that or it's a callback to her line about Oriana replacing her.

That actually looks like a combat suit. So that's a plus.

Old gripe, but I want to know who Miranda's father is. It certainly seems Bioware went out of their way not to reveal his line of work.

I like that she's 35 and acts it.. Give me more mature characters. As for "hot" well, she is, but does she also have to be such a sex object. It's demeaning and it cheapens her character. *grumbles*

Found the mod. It looks decent, but close-ups of the armor aren't really good. I'm hoping she'll get some cool costume in the next alternate appearance pack.

The question was more like "Why are the regular romances almost unavoidable?" I find this accidental stumbling into a romance, and the consequence that you must almost avoid speaking to a character to avoid a romance, very annoying. I wish every romance topic was like Samara's: always clear on where you're going. That you aren't successful with her is beside the point.

The only time I have a problem with stumbling into a romance is Jack's. Garrus', Tali's and Thane's were pretty obvious. I completely missed the trigger for Jacob's. I suppose Miranda's is less than obvious, but you can break up with her almost immediately.

I don't that that's what Okeer did. If sleep-learning was possible today - which I very much doubt until you point me to some relevant papers - it's at least highly inefficient. And emotions can be taught, things like racism spread by being taught, although inadvertently. At the very least, Okeer's technology is more efficient by several orders of magnitude.

As for Miranda, she did learn the regular way as far as we know, but I can see her father trying something different since he wasn't so successful from his perspective. From ours, of course, he was very successful ;)

Looks a bit odd in the chest, but as a whole very good. Link, please!

Edit:
Sorry, I overlooked it. Thanks.

Well, she has a perfect genotype, and I guess she gets enough exercise to stay good-looking. As I said in the Miranda Lawson FAQ, that she ages more slowly shouldn't be very noticeable yet. Also, there are real-world women who look very good at 35.

I think it's about TIM having replaced people who didn't do things as he would've liked before.

I don't know why they did't do something like Jacob for her. Jacob's outfit is am ix of clothing and armour. I don't see why they did't do that with Miri at all. The fact that a user was able to make somethin g like that and make it amazing tells me Bioware wanted her to apeal to the male gamers who just want big breast and big ass <_<
