I think Miranda would get along with about half the team. Mordin, Jacob, and Samara definitely. Thane as well. Tali is possible, if Miranda resigned. I always  get  the thought in my head they  secretly  have a crush on each other  but they are just  too stubborn to admit it.

(1) She'd never be impressed by someone who'd battle for her favors. Rather, she'd hold such a one in contempt.

I don't really think Garrus is her type, but to each their own. I ship her with Thane, so I don't feel like I have much room to cast aspersions here.

Can't see Miri and Garrus together. Lets face it, they're both intelligent people and they both know how to lead, which makes me think that they are too similar for them to like each other.

Truthfully, I wish Miranda/anyone but Shepard was more popular. I've taken Atonement down for the time being and am not reposting until it's much closer to finished. The lack of feedback from people besides Ieldra was getting to me, and I can write at my leisure. Since I seem to be literally writing for myself, there's no rush.

I ship Tali/Kal (and if he were a romance option, I'd go for him) I don't care who Shep ends up with, though I admit my FemShep will have a hard choice between Kaidan and Thane. Shepard/Miranda isn't bad, but I'd rather they focus on other aspects of her character in ME3.

Actually, I don't care much about exploring alternative romance possibilities. It's more exploring the characters for themselves that interests me. For me, your story is interesting because of Miranda and Thane themselves, what ideas they share and what they don't, what they're talking about etc. etc., things she'd not share with any Shepard we can play unless we develop his character between games in our minds. And, I'm tempted to say, almost in spite of romantic content.

I'd like them to focus on other aspects of her character as well. Keep the romance active, but in the background, with  occasional little interactions that show they care about each other. Like an established relationship.

Okay fair enough,  

I always saw my  Shephard and Miranda  relationship like Mel and the Black chick from Firefly(Can't remember her name for the life of me , She is married to  Laurence Fishburn. )     

Shephard: Now I'm not back in 15 minutes you  know what to do. 

Miranda: Of  course save the ship.. 

Shephard: No you come get me. 

Miranda : And risk the ship ?  

Thats the one thing that ME 2 was missing  crew banter

I'm not a fan of the Miranda romance (don't shoot me) but I've romanced her on one of my Renegade playthroughs and.. can somebody care to explain this to me? Is this romance supposed to be a one night stand? I didn't feel any sparks of romance or love or anything between Miranda and Shepard, I just felt like they were interested in sexy time only.

Friend with benefits, maybe? I'm only asking because the entire discussion with her after you've intiated the romance and she's asking if you're interested seems more like "Are you interested in sex?" instead of "Are you interested in romance?"

Well in all romances in ME their is love involved.  They do both care about each other if you pay attention to the dialogue. ("I care about you Miranda and I think you care about me") Miranda says "Who would've thought it now as a great time for love?" which would represent love.   If you select the response "Love?" which makes Shep say "Who said anything about love, I just want to get you to bed" Miranda calls Shep and ****.  So it's def not a 1 night stand. 

Your forgetting the fact is that their BOTH HUMAN which makes things easier and less complicated.  Humans are generally more attracted to their own species.  Shep won't have to go through barriers like he would with Tali who gets sick from a kiss.  I do feel Bioware rushed it a bit and should've added some more dialogue.  I'm hoping in ME3 once your romanced with Miranda in ME2 the romance will be picked up right away so it could be explored a lot deeper.   

 

note the developers at BIoware please play  Persona 3&4 to get solid ideas for how to build character relationships in  a game.  Don't cut my  relationship for the sake of the saving  gamplay time.  This goes for both Miranda and Tali since  I romanced them both.  You could throw  Samara in there but she shot me down...hard   

What the Miranda/Shep relationship needs is more  flirtation and at least one instance where she slaps him on the back of the head  for being a block head.

Kal's about Shep's age, so I don't see the problem.



I'm not opposed to a deeper romance, exactly, but I'd rather see more stuff with her sister and father. That was what made me fall in love with her. Not the romance.
