that is, indeed, epic. just stopping in to say hi. i love miranda. every time i start me2, i think i hate her. every time i finish, i adore the woman all over again. awesomely written character from start to finish. i love a character who's on a journey.
Fast? Fast enough for me, that's for sure, but I recall the time when the old thread averaged 20 pages per day. I've been trying to extract interesting information from the old thread and re-post it in summarized form, and to see if there's something FAQ-worthy left, but having to wade through 2000 pages of mostly OT stuff is is so incredibly tedious I haven't been able to continue. Perhaps someone else would want to continue - I've stopped at page 200.fongiel24 wrote...
Thanks Ieldra! It's scary how fast this new thread filled up - I don't even know if it's worth trying to catch up on 148 pages.

that is probably the best miranda fanart so far, so awesome i have it as the wallpaper on my gaming laptop. the artist's deviantart page is here, if anyone's interested.

I like the way things are now, even though I miss the old guard. Considering that the Tali thread was permanently locked for OT, I think we made the right decision. I do sort of wish I could find my first few posts to see if I've changed in the last six months.
Did you start in the first or the second thread? I recall your having posted in the first 100 pages of the second thread, but I didn't check the first one.jtav wrote...

Forgive me for saying this plainly, nitefyre, but that's not very good... I guess people have to start somewhere.

Possibly the first. I remember that my first post was asking about her job now that she wwasn't with Cerberus, but I can't tell you when I started to actually add to the discussion. I remember that I was contraversial for saying that her childhood was abusive and that she has seduced people in the course of missions, if rarely.

By the way, I hope Bioware notices that most people who really like Miranda like her for being a strong woman, not for sex appeal. The sex appeal is nice. She;s beautiful. But most of us don't want her back so we can stare at "dat ass"

I just read a not-very-good AU in which Miranda implanted a control chip in Shepard, which got me to thinking: how was it supposed to work? Would he be physically compelled to follow orders? The only thing I can come up with is something like Bioshock where he follows any command given by Miranda/TIM (prefaced by a trigger phrase) but without being aware he's controlled. It's a pity the story was badly done, as the idea has awesome potential.
It would have to be something where Shepard isn't aware of being controlled. That's the only kind that makes sense. The rest may depend on the technology. Your suggesion is probably the most workable method. But I was thinking of the feasibility of the control chip in the first place: if such a thing is possible, why doesn't TIM do it to his most important people - Miranda, for instance? As with the return from the dead, it seeems Bioware introduced a single instance of some technology without thinking about the bigger implications of the plain fact that no technological achievement like that is likely to remain a single instance only.jtav wrote...

I quote this yet again to increase the likelihood that some Bioware people read it. We can't influence what they'll do much, but they should at least know.jtav wrote...

I had never seen it before, how do you all feel about it?
Ummm... I'd pay for these outfits over what Bio made. Hmmm... kind of Leia like.
