I don't necessarily reject your interpretation of the "What matters is how we feel" line. It's clear she does fear to lose someone she cares for, as shown in the "promise" scene. I don't interpret it that way, but...well, so what. But don't take it so far to mean she wouldn't want to survive without him.

I'm sorry you don't like it, but it's my interpretation of the character.
If you prefer, I think she could risk her life to save Shepard. Of course if Shepard die and she's still alive she would not deliberately kill herself.
And it's also the reason why I don't have a problem to imagine a Miranda who could be very possessive.

I think both would risk their lives for the other, but not throw it away. That makes the difference for me. I also have no problem to imagine Miranda as possessive. That's not what I mind about the "Everyone should know you're mine" line. She can be possessive, but I think she is also a very private person. She would want Shepard to tell her "rivals" (as if Tali and Jack could ever be such) to go away in no uncertain terms, but I think she would prefer to keep their relationship from being the talk of the ship.

Sounds interesting but I've always been afraid of entering these kinds of things. It'll be interesting to see what people come up with though.

Outside the Normandy, I agree.
But keeping secret their relationship on the Normandy is impossible.
If she or he makes things clear, they can avoid some problems. I think everybody would be uncomfortable if they don't do it.

I wish they'd tell us what they intend for ME3. I can deal with Miranda receiving a cameo. I expect her to be cameo'd. But there is a small sliver of hope that makes my stomach twist in knots. I'd like to process my disappointment ASAP.

I want her back as a squadmate. And I think they can do it with all other LI characters.

Well that's basically why the ME1 LI's were not available.
So it wouldn't make any sense to not include the ME2 LI's.

I'm not optimistic about her return as a squadmate, and I'd be shocked to be wrong. And kid-on-Christnas morning thrilled. Mostly I just want to talk to her.

Agreed.  Anyone here who settles for less doesn't belong on this thread.

The ideal would be bringing back Miranda as a full squadmate, but only if they don't reign in her independence and assertiveness. Even if it's not as a full squadmate, I would be okay with her playing a substantial role that brings her storyline closure, maybe as a temporary ally in a few missions.

fongiel's ideal is also mine. I'm just pessimistic. Which makes me miserable because I don't think I've ever loved a fictional character this much.

On a cheerier note, I'm mulling over the ficathon and deciding if asking for Miranda/Liara would be unreasonable.

Well, one of the examples given was Shepard/Anderson so obviously this is an anything goes ficathon. I have a feeling you'll have an easier time getting someone to write Miranda/Liara than Shepard/Anderson.

New topic... How do you guys think Miranda processes the implications of the Teltan facility? She treats Jack rather callously, but this may just be because of her personal dislike of the latter and the way Jack broaches it with her. Is it possible that revelations of the Teltan facility are when the first seeds of doubt about Cerberus first appear in Miranda's mind?

I think so. She sounds genuinely horrified over what happened. I think initially she dismisses it as a rogue cell because that's the only way she can continue to function. I think Overlord might present an even bigger shock. Archer was torturing his *brother* Given her relationship with Oriana, I think she would regard him as worse than scum. Pure speculation, but I think she would either kill him slowly or make him wish he were dead, depending on how replaceable Archer is.

It's interesting that there's no way to take Archer out, either by killing him or turning him in to the Alliance of C-Sec. Miranda's disbelief at Pragia, Overlord, and TIM's "betrayal" on the Collector ship make me wonder how much she'd actually seen before the Lazarus Project. She seems to have been sheltered from Cerberus' shadier side. I get the feeling it's not something she's had to deal with before, the difference between Miranda's "I want to use my gifts for the good of humanity" and TIM's "I will do whatever is necessary to advance humanity".

does anyone know if there is a picture of the Miranda action figure? Her, grunt and shep might be worth getting.

I agree.
The pessimism on the forums about this subject is annoying.

Bioware can do it. And I think the LI characters will have an important role in ME3.

No pictures yet, but I hope they will make her figure looks good.

Judging from what we've seen, I have a feeling her body will look fine but the face will be screwed up. It's hard to get faces right in such a small scale and at that pricepoint.

I worry about the face too. She has a beautiful face, I don't want to be disappointed.

For $20-25 I'm not expecting much, especially as its a fully articulated action figure. It sounds like more of a toy than a true collector piece. Then again, I've seen figures three times the size and ten times the price that butchered faces pretty badly. Doing a face, especially that of a beautiful female character's, is difficult.

I have this nagging feeling that they might not put in much attention to detail on Miranda's face, prolly because the face is the hardest thing to get right.

I don't understand this ficathon thing. Is it something to get people who write fanfics together in order to motivate everything to write better and more stories? Is it some kind of contest? If it's the first, I'm thinking of taking part with a story I've begun but wasn't sufficiently motivated to finish, but I also don't know what the point of asking for something is? Are you limited to writing about stuff others ask for? Or is it just to prevent people from writing what nobody wants? Must things be romance-themed (in which case I won't take part)? Enlighten me!
