Indeed. I don't feel that about any character, and I wonder why they do. There have been some valid points in the XO thread, but it's hard to take them seriously as these people interpret anything about Miranda the worst way possible.Prudii Aden wrote...
Indeed, Miranda is a focus for a lot of antipathy and outright hatred on the forum. Wish I knew why, but I guess each person who hates her does so for some personal reason, or they have an axe to grind.

Next time, I should disable the subtitles. Thought it was worth sharing this screenshot, certainly there are plenty more around here with better graphics but anyway. xD

Let me tell you some of these people can come across in a very different way if Miranda is not the topic. Somehow, Miranda brings out the worst in them.Yannkee wrote...

Shame, really.
I think it's pretty clear most people don't like Miranda is because of the way she acts in the beginning of the game. I'm a big Miranda fan and even I can't stand her at the start. She's a bit mean to Shepard right off the bat which pretty much puts people off right there. She's a bit egotistical as well in your first or second conversation. "I'm good at anything I choose to be at" or something like that. And she's a Ceberus apologist. You gotta have some tough skin or be patient in order to like Miranda.

I actually like that, because you can see how she develops her character as you progress thorugh the game. And nothing she says is not true, she IS good at anything she wants. She may be cocky, but that is hardly major problem.
In the end, she forms her own opinion and tells TIM to fook off.

Shepard could have a little influence, but she mainly took this decision herself.

I do not recall the exact line but she says something like "seeing it firsthand I am not sure it is good idea to keep it, it seems like betrayal" - I do not see any guidance.
I meant in the sense of embarking on the suicide mission. Would Miranda still figure out that TIM is a bloody crook without being part of the suicide mission?

I liked her from the first. I still want to shake her on occasion, mostly over the control chip and Jack. But she's also capable of breaking my heart. So I get both sides. I think the reason she's hated is that the game tries so hard to make you love her. She has sex appeal, is extremely useful in all gameplay situations, and hard to kill off. It can feel like the game is shoving her down your throat.
Didn't they do the same in Mass Effect with Liara?

Yeah I like the character progression as well but not everyone sees it. I think most Miri haters don't even talk to Miri in between missions on the Normandy. Nearly all the people who hate Miri can't stand her ego or I know what's best attitude (even though she's right at times). That's pretty much Miri's first impression and some people can't get past that and they assume Miri is like that for the rest of the game.
I think Jack suffers the same problem. They don't really try to understand Jack or give time for Jack to develop.
Besides Miranda, what other character is hated on this forum?
I'll go with Jack for the same reasons why people don't like Miri.

I think her trust in TIM has already diminished, before the suicide mission.
But I think she make her decision because of what she see in the collector base and because she knows what TIM would do with the base.

I agree. Miranda did say that she's her own person on her loyalty mission.

Well let's think about it. Imagine this. Let say you were on Shepard's squad and you were fighting along side Shep on the sucide mission. You save Dr.Chakwas and she tells you that the colonist were "processed". That means they were liqueified. You see all the tubes etc. I think Lilith was being processed by something that was acidic or whatever. If I were walking around that base I'd puke.
